- From $316.63 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 407 reviewsWe had an amazing stay at this place! The houses are beautifully designed with high quality materials and are perfectly heated, making them super cozy and comfortable. The surrounding scenery is absolutely stunning! The host was friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home and the breakfast was simply delicious. The road to get there isn’t the easiest, but it’s absolutely worth it once you arrive. Plus, the sky is dark enough to see the northern lights and we were lucky enough to witness them - an unforgettable experience! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and high-quality stay.Guest review byAchillesGreece

The building is a little older but that adds to the charm. Great kitchen facilities and bathroom/showers. Great location in Borgarnes. There is a wonderful coffee and cake shop right next door. My room was cozy and clean. Check in and out was easy. I would stay here again for sure !Guest review byBruceUnited States

We have agreed that if we come back to Iceland we would love to stay here for longer. Very modern and clean cabin with a little patio out back. They were even kind enough to call us when the northern lights were visible (we opted to be woken up if they appeared).Guest review byHeatherUnited States
- From $403.41 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Excellent - What previous guests thought, 626 reviewsBeautiful facilities, many parts looked new. Spectacular location. The staff was great. They asked if we would like to have them knock on our door if auroras were sighted. They did knock on our door, and we saw some beautiful auroras. All the better because the location is isolated with very dark skies.Guest review byMarkUzbekistan

We only spent 1 night and 1 lunchtime in Borgarnes, so my experience was limited. We would have loved to stay longer and explore more! The walk along the seaside is beautiful and a great way to get around. The pool with its hot tubs is excellent - just go here and skip the pricey spas! The town feels so safe and there are some lovely bakeries and cafes. The Settlement Museum is well worth a visit!Guest review byAlexisUnited States - 8.0
The parking by the fall is expensive at no reason.
The parking by the fall is expensive at no reason. It offers no services, like toilets. If the weather is ok and you like walking, there is a free spot closer to the city, 1mile or 1500m, with a trail to the fall. The fall and the mountain together in a pic are the postcard you imagined.Guest review byPietroItaly - 10.0

The hike to the island is very nice, we did it at 11pm after our dinner. You have to visit the church. We loved this village and his traditional houses. We eat very well at Sjávarpakkhúsið restaurant.Guest review byEtienneSwitzerland - 10.0

Stayed here because there was reasonably priced accommodations mostly on route to where we were going. The town is small, doesn't appear to be too much to it. The people were nice, it felt safe, and was by the water.Guest review byJennaAustralia - 10.0

The annual music festival was great as ever with fine program and performing artists. The new church has outstanding acoustics and do not forget do have a glance at the old church from 1887 and the Snorri Sturluson bath originated from 13th century.Guest review byMagnúsIceland - 10.0

I would like to address several reviewers comments in general about the size of the bathrooms and showers. The bathrooms have been updated. the bathrooms are on the smaller side but so are most of the bathrooms in all the hotels I have stayed at in Iceland. We travel extensively and notice differences in all of the countries we have been to that are different from our own places and each place that you go. I think it is ok to mention this so other people are aware but to complain so much about it is not necessary. I would also like to mention how wonderful their water is! It can go from freezing cold to sauna hot in a matter of seconds and it is the only country that I prefer to dink from the tap! I hope this helps :)Guest review byMelissa - 10.0

Hellnar is the perfect location, close to all the major attractions on the peninsula and an ideal place to spend the night while soaking in the beauty of the landscape. There’s a charming little café just a few minutes from the Peninsula Suites that serves the best waffles with jam and whipped cream, an Icelandic classic. The views are truly out of this world, we’ve never seen anything like it. Cliffs, ocean, glacier, and moss all come together in the most breathtaking way. It’s an absolute must on your trip!Guest review byDorota KotniewiczPoland
