- From R$ 7,271.56 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.9Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 98 reviewsTime at the monastero is everything you might expect for a 5 star resort experience with some notable distinctions. Amazing attention to detail and systems of management, result in a sense of tranquility which is hugely amplified by the monastery setting. This really can't be overstated. The peaceful environment they create here is quite precious. Secondly, having a limited number guests (20), means that there is a sense of privacy missing from some resorts or hotels. Thirdly, the views are literally some of the best photos from our trip. Fourthly, the generosity and warmth of the staff in every area is 100% consistent. A great credit to management. Loved our stay. Obviously not an every holiday option, but a special stay that will be remembered for a very long time.Guest review byMatthew CostaAustralia

Pompei and Vesuvius were great.
Pompei and Vesuvius were great. The city of Naples however is not. I fear for this apparently lawless city. Scruffy, unloved and neglected the beautiful architecture is rotting before your eyes, if you can make it out under the many inane layers of ugly graffiti. The infrastructure is crumbling. The centre of the town, particularly the historic old town, is an unfriendly, risky battle zone between bandits on scooters, cars, scam artists, trashy shops and a disinterested unfriendly population. I would avoid it completely and if you want to visit Pompei and Vesuvius then stay elsewhere, Sorento etc. Beyond the town centre to south and west is more pleasant and better kept with Chiaia a nice area and the wealthy zone around the west of the bay and into the hills is better and safer.Guest review byMarkUnited Kingdom - 8.0

If you only have a few days, you should stay in Amalfi, or Positano or Capri, etc. Sorrento is nice but not as special. If you have many days then stay in Sorrento and do day trips. Sorrento is easier to navigate than say Capri because it's larger, but Capri is beautifulGuest review byJudithUnited States - 10.0

Ischia is a great island for vacation - there are many sandy beaches, spectacular views, a lot of greenery and of course delicious food. It is not difficult to go around the island by car. The roads are narrow and with many turns, and many people are driving motorbikes which makes driving difficult but you can survive:) People are very friendly and calm. The food is amazing, especially pasta in any form! The island is easy to reach - the are ferries from Naples, about an hour from there. Highly recommend Ischia to visit!Guest review byIvankaBulgaria - 6.0
The public transportation system could be improved.
The public transportation system could be improved. There are no signs to say where to go. The station Information Office provided incorrect directions and most of the time was closed. The metro platform was changed 2 minutes before departure to the opposite side of the station (8 platforms across). We had to run through the underground corridors to make it. No clear signage to follow. It was a miracle that we could still catch the train. We visited the Gardens of Minerva. There is an elevator that goes up to the gardens level. It wasn't advertised. Although we were 3 steps from it at the bottom of the cliff, we did not see the elevator because it was in an enclosed gang. Therefore we followed a curvy road up the hill in 30 degrees heat and even on that road there were no signs to say where the gardens are. Only when we got in front of the gardens gates we knew we arrived. The few (4) restaurants we wanted to eat out at, advertised on the Internet they were open and when we walked there they were closed, a piece of paper in the window announced the staff was on vacation. The park located near the vila comunale di Salerno was very nice, the sea boardwalk was pleasant. The city could manage the garbage better.Guest review byLaura - 10.0

Capri is great to explore via taxi, get up early and head up to Ana Capri, less traffic more intimate area. The chair lift is a must to the top of the mountain, and lunch up top of the mountain is amazing. Capri is nice in the evenings to walk around and shop with plenty of places to get cocktails, and explore.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
The accommodation and ability to access great day trips (...
The accommodation and ability to access great day trips (Pompeii, walking the path of the Gods, visit other towns along the coast, cookery course etc) was brilliant and made for a great holiday. We did find that the whole coast was packed with tourists and when the cruise ships came in, this was much worse. The local buses were very good, and cheap, and enabled us to achieve everything we wanted to.Guest review bySallyUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Positano was fantastic.
Positano was fantastic. We enjoyed great restaurants and shopping. The incredible views will stay in my mind for the rest of my life. We had easy access to boats heading to Capri, which is a “must add” trip you should fit in to your plans. The beach’s are loaded with stone and you must have water shoes to get into the water. We were always at ease with the relaxing vibe that surrounded us. My wife and I will strongly recommend Positano to anyone thinking of heading that way. It is truly magical. Our 2 best meals were at “The Mediterrano” and “ La Taglia, we enjoyed them both equally.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

the Pompeii ruins and its history was amazing added knowledge that i was not aware of. The displays were awesome and able to visualize how not see how civilization perished but also how it survived from its destruction. recommend taking a tour guide vs self walk ,unless ONE is an Historian and knowledgeable of its history in the period of civilization. The nearby eating area a little pricy...but if you have car ,try to go Centro and prices are more moderate. very busy spot ....and don't know when it is best to visit.Guest review bycarloCanada - 8.0
Caserta is a pleasant ordinary town.
Caserta is a pleasant ordinary town. The Royal Palce is jaw dropping and it is a 8E return train ride from Naples. With a car, there are many fantastic Roman sites and a spectacular coastline within 30k. The town has quite a number of excellent Pizza restaurants, all competitively priced.Guest review bypaulUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Anacapri is way quieter than Capri.
Anacapri is way quieter than Capri. I see that as a good thing. Anacapri gets busy during the day with all the day trippers... Thanks to the gondola, Blue grotto etc. But once they leave... that's when Anacapri shines. We loved the quiet evenings, the amazing sunsets, the now empty swimming holes... Loved it!Guest review byAndreUnited States
