The location is perfect!! it is right on the main strip of the Main Street which is a block away from the city center. I was scared I would hear all the noise when sleeping but the windows are sound proof. The person at the front desk helped coordinate our rental car get picked up at the hotel for overnight parking, and also brought back at the hotel door…..this was excellent service and practical for anyone with a car.

We had a very comfortable room with a queen size and a twin bed. The rain shower had great pressure and lots of hot water. Air conditioning was excellent as well as WiFi and tv. The staff was very helpful and happily answered any questions we had about how to get around in Pompeii and good restaurants. There was a lovely little garden where we winded down our days with a cocktail prepared in the bar. Breakfast was more than adequate and the bonus was that it was 2 blocks from the train station station and a 15 minute walk from the entrance to the archeological site of Pompeii

FAQs about hotels in Campania

Stunning Scenery and Remarkable Ruins

Wonderful beach resorts, a wealth of history and winding, cliff-hugging roads – these are just a few reasons why Campania is so admired.

Spreading around a bay, the capital Naples is a mix of monumental architecture and narrow streets. Known for pizza and pulsating life night and day, it extends along the coast towards Pozzuoli, site of a Roman amphitheatre and the Phlegrean Fields volcanic area.

The most notorious volcano is of course Vesuvius, whose eruption in 79AD destroyed Pompei and Herculaneum. The ruins of both are an amazing insight into the sophistication of the Romans. Even older are the well-preserved Greek temples at Paestum.

Agropoli sits on a rocky promontory overlooking a beach and harbour, and beautiful Palinuro is at the tip of the Cilento National Park. Other fantastic Campania resorts are on the amazing Amalfi Coast. Ravello, high on a hill, offers stunning coastal views, while Amalfi and Positano cascade down to the sea. Around the peninsula is Sorrento, home to several 5-star Campania hotels, while offshore are the fabulous islands of Capri and Ischia.

Inland Caserta has an impressive Royal Palace with huge gardens, and Avellino nestles in a valley between the port of Salerno and Benevento, site of yet more Roman remains. See Booking.com for an excellent range of apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Campania.

The location of this hotel is wonderful. It is a beautiful hotel, gorgeous decoration and very clean. Beautiful views from all of the windows. Loads of terraces and a few restaurants within the hotel to enjoy breakfast and dinner or cocktails. The room was comfortable, beautifully decorated and had a lovely little balcony. the beds were extremely comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and had all amenities. The staff is somewhat friendly. They are not. Rude, however, they are a little quiet and not overly knowledgable of things happening within the Amalfi coast. Regardless, we still had a fantastic day, and would highly recommend this hotel. The private beach adjacent to this hotel is fantastic.

We received an upgraded room, which was a lovely surprise and very much appreciated. Any request or question we had was handled quickly and with a smile. The room and the surroundings were beautiful, and breakfast was excellent, it was such a nice place to start the day. Naples is a busy city, with loads of interesting places to visit like Pompeii, Sorrento, the Metro and Train service is very good to get around. Loads of shops bars, dining areas. As I've advised people in the past, if you have the stamina, put aside a whole day or more for a Pompeii experience, and include the Naples Archeological museum and Herculaneum in your trip. Pompei is much larger than you expect it to be, and it only grows in size and wonder as the years continue. This is an enormous exhibit that you can get lost in, and never find a lack of new sights to see. No matter how long you spend there, you'll leave thinking about what you didn't get to see. I also recommend visiting the museum prior to visiting the sites, as the scale, range, and quality of the artifacts in the museum will begin to prepare you for what you are about to see onsite. I won't bother adding pictures, as there are so many already out there that you'll encounter in any effort to prepare for a visit, and they'll never truly express what you will discover with your own eyes.

It´s beautiful, no doubt.

It´s beautiful, no doubt. And I certainly rate it higher than Positano. But it´s so so busy, full of groups, and access is agonisingly slow, the infrastructure being inadequate for the amount of traffic. It feels like a place setup for tourists, which detracts from its natural beauty. I prefer the grittiness of Napoli, which for all its troubles, feels authentically Italian.

No parking. Many steps to get to the piazza and port and not pedestrian safe. Not geared to tourists. Shops for local consumption mostly. Ok for a day or two but traffic in and out is terrible and not a good base for exploring the area. I found the restaurants good but expensive.

We loved the location of Benevento and thoroughly enjoyed the city itself - the city center is very attractive. We spent 3 nights in Benevento in early October but we could have spent more. It's a perfect base for exploring surrounding areas like Naples and Campania in general. We enjoyed walking in the pedestrian friendly areas of the city center, especially in the evening, and we visited the Museum of Sannio and the adjacent Church of Santa Sophia, which was fantastic. There are additional museums there and we would have visited them if we had more time. The Janua Witch Museum looked especially interesting. Numerous options for restaurants and for shopping.

Nothing about the place is likable. I would not recommend it even to be used as a prison. From the first step walking nothing is likable about the place, the service is terrible, facilities are untidy and washed out. The appliances are not functional, the bed is not comfortable, there is no shower but a bathtub very small and warn out.

Great town, good home base for other activities in the area, if you're traveling by car. Less touristy than, say, Positano. The town clearly has a life of its own beyond just servicing tourists. We could have stayed longer just to visit more of the restaurants, and do more in the area. We did easy side trips to Paestum, Pompeii, Salerno.
