We have just returned from an amazing week at this hotel. From the moment we arrived the staff were very welcoming and went out of their way to help us. Claudio and Max were especially helpful and we really enjoyed their very knowledgeable conversations. They made our stay at Villa Carola a very special one. Valeria on reception was extremely helpful too, nothing was too much trouble. All the staff are a credit to the hotel. Can`t wait to return.

The grounds of the hotel are beautifully landscaped creating a total oasis. The way the hotel is built is very thoughtful to ensure a spectacular view from every room. Beautiful hotel with beautiful views. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant was exceptional! I would definitely stay there again. I liked everything at this resort. I stayed for 4 nights and didn’t want to leave. It has amazing views from the breakfast and pools areas. The beach was small but I liked it. It has a beautiful garden that I sat and meditate. It has multiple pools all of them are good and clean with a jacuzzi but the water was cold. Breakfast was very good and lunch and dinner at the resort is incredible . I had sea view room and my room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Didn’t hear any noise at night but during the day I could hear some noises through the walls. The resort offers a two way shuttle bus to porto cervo free of charge. The resort also offers a boat trip with small groupto la Maddalena island and stop at different beaches. The trip cost 150€ including lunch aperitif and desert and free of charge bus that went to the port and dropped us back at the resort The SPA was really great and relaxing with heated pool, jacuzzi, sauna and Turkish hammam. The service at the resort was a bit slow but the staff were helpful.A little renovation to this resort will make it top notch but i have a good time there. Would recommend this resort if you are looking to relax by the beach, pool and SPA with restaurants for lunch and dinner and room service especially if you don’t have a car.

The location with beach and pool were lovely.

The location with beach and pool were lovely. The interiors of the apartment were poor. When we arrived at the unit we realized there was only 1 air conditioning unit in the main bedroom. The entire house was a sweat box. The guests in the second bedroom slept with a fan the first night and woke up to wet sweaty sheets. We complained and the host provided a portable A/C unit the next day. The rest of the house is about 95 degrees. You can't open the doors/windows because bees and insects will be swarming in. We had a fan running in the living room and it stopped running after day 3. A closet door in the hallway was broken and fell on my foot and had a lovely bruise. The hallway bath toilet water will spill on the floor when flushed and the shower door is about 8" from the toilet bowl. The second bathroom tub clogs and takes 24hrs to drain. The water will turn cold if 2 people are taking a shower at the same time. Cabinet doors in both bathroom/closets and kitchen are old and don't close/open properly. The kitchen is very narrow and allows for one person to be in that space at a time. It also has a fowl odor. Overall, I am disappointed with the poor facilities of this unit and it was NOT worth what I paid for. I could have stayed at 5 star resort on the beach w/breakfast and beach chairs included for half the price. Unfortunately, the pictures posted don't show the wear and tear of this place.

The beauty of Santa Marinella is in the proximity to the best beaches of Costa Smeralda, but without the ridiculous price tag. Provided you have a car, the most beautiful beaches are 15-30 minutes away. Porto Rotondo with it's chick restaurants and lovely night atmosphere is 7 min driving. Famed "Lu Stazzu " restaurant that serves traditional Sardinian food, including porcheddo - fire roasted pig, is 7 min away. Keep in mind, the restaurants of Costa Smerlda book fast during the season. People dress up, especially women - I am talking evening long dresses :) Santa Marinella port is a walkable distance, but there is not much happening at night. The bottom line Santa Marinellla is cute, it is a pseudo Mediterranean style resort like village with lots of condos and small hotels. It is very pleasant and convenient to stay here, if you have a car. Two days stay.

Lovely small town with a relaxed vibe to it (we arrived just as the peak season hoards were leaving). . of restaurants to choose from with a variety of price ranges. Majority offering similar cuisine - pasta, pizza & seafood. The more expensive offered fresh fish of the day & "cordon bleu" style cooking. A few lively bars, that I can imagine being 'very lively' during the peak summer season. A great array of hotels, B&Bs & apartment/rooms/villas Ideally located for Olbia, Porto Cervo & Costa Smerelda as well as Palau & the ferry to La Maddelena. Plenty of excursion options - hiking, cycle (e-bikes & normal), boat hire, sailing & catamaran cruises. Plenty to keep you occupied, but I would suggest hunting a car/scooter if staying longer than 7 days.
