Elena’s property was stellar! If I could give her 100 stars, I would! Elena was a wonderful host; she met us, told us where to park and took us to our apartment. Our room had two windows; one overlooked the quaint street, and the other a beautiful view of the mountains. The bed was very comfortable, and the apartment itself was a perfect size for my husband and me. Each morning, we went down one flight of stairs to the kitchen where Antonella was waiting to pamper us with coffee, cappuccino, cornetto, juice, and granola. Besides the Bed & Breakfast, Elena has a restaurant called Rupp Diun. All I can say is W.O.W! We told Elena our food preferences, (I am a vegetarian, for example), and she totally customized the meal that she prepared. Elena has a gift for making you feel like family. We ate at Rupp Diun multiple times because when the food is that good, why go anywhere else! It was fun to meet Elena's family and friends throughout our stay! Full disclosure: my grandmother was born in Colobraro in 1897, and I am on a mission to find out anything I can about my Italian roots. I probably would not have visited Colobraro if not for my grandmother, but what a shame that would have been. Elena and her friend Maria were extremely helpful in guiding me with my search. This beautiful, welcoming hill-top town with the most charming people should be on the bucket list of those that are looking to immerse themselves in Italian culture and history. I hope I am lucky enough to be able to make my way back to this charming city that is filled with townspeople that welcome you with enthusiasm and pride that leaves you with a longing to return. Amazing staff who greeted us warmly and were very helpful. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner with them and WOW, everything so fresh, home-made and delicious. The place is super well located, right in front of the town hall. It's quiet, comfortable, will be back one day! Grazie!

Great stay! The property was cozy and clean it was ready for our late arrival, with the room already warmed up. The owner was extremely attentive—we even enjoyed a nice conversation over a glass of wine at the bar and bought some local organic produce. Delicious breakfast, plenty of parking, and a convenient location near the highway. Thanks to the info from the owner, we’d love to come back in the summer to experience the rafting season in the region. Highly recommended!

We arrived late in the evening and got a very warm greeting. We stayed overnight and left the next morning. Breakfast was very good. Kids loved it very much. Local restaurant that work until very late have delicious food prepared from a fresh home grown products. I had the most incredible experience at this mountain hotel! It's an oasis of tranquility, far from the city noise. Staying in a 300-year-old house was like stepping back in time. The authenticity of the atmosphere made me feel like I was living in a bygone era. It was a truly magical escape! I regret I bought only one bottle of local red wine to take with me.

We enjoyed our stay with Annalisa, who was very warm and welcoming. We were comfortable at her B&B and liked the breakfast a lot. Home-grown strawberries and handmade jam, among other temptations. Beautiful countryside and very close to town for a good dinner.

They went out of their way to help us. When we arrived unprepared for no local food they accommodated our needs. They don’t provide dinners but they did that night for us. They saved us from a hungry night. We really appreciated that gesture on their part.

Morano Calabro is a gorgeous old town. Very pittoresque.

Morano Calabro is a gorgeous old town. Very pittoresque. The pretty pictures found on the internet cannot capture the real beauty of this place and its authentic and relaxed atmosphere. The people are also very friendly. Unless you like touristy places, this unspoiled place represents Italy at its best. The area is very mountainous and a hiker's paradise. Restaurants serve excellent food and at a very low price.

A beautiful place nestled among the mountains.

A beautiful place nestled among the mountains. We went on a breathtaking 15km hike and white water rafting in the Pollino National Park. We would recommend both. There are way more options for food than we expected, however there are not many English speaking people/staff around but we managed! The weather was much cooler there than other places in Southern Italy in Summer, particularly in the National Park.

The diffuso concept is atypical so be ready for the room, breakfast, check-in, gym to all be in different places in the city. Each of these areas we used was wonderful, But our room was a bit of a walk from the check-in area. It happened to be that the walk was worth the location of our room. The room was large and clean and we had full control of heat and air. Everything very, very comfortable and clean and new.

A last minute decision to stop a night here had us not wanting to leave, mainly because of the beautiful accommodation, food and people. We made the most of our short time here and walked down to the historic bridge ( devils bridge) amazing scenery and it was very peacful only us on the road and tracks. The town had a selection of restaurtants and we found a lovely spot to enjoy a beautiful meal and a fabulous bottle of wine. We wished we had more time to stay in Civiita however we had connections to make so moved on. I highly recommend visiting and staying at least 2 or 3 days and if you have a car exploring the area.

We didn't see much to be honest - the town is an hour from Pompeii - so a great stop after being or going to this famous historic archaeological site. Well worth a relaxing morning or afternoon walk. there are a few exciting things to do but we were en-route. However, the very narrow roads are exciting in themselves!

We strongly recommend Morano Calabro to any travelers who enjoy the ambiance of old village communities. The old Town in Morano Calabro is alive with friendly residents, little shops, local butcher, hair salons etc. We fell in love with the place. You can take the narrow twisty road to the Castello on the top of the hill but we enjoyed the walk. Enjoyed a 5 star lunch at restaurant L'Antico Borgo.

Morano Calabro is a very simple mountain village with steep roads and stairways leading to the Norman Castle at the top of the hill. The surrounding environment is spectacular especially the Pollino National Park. The church and abbey of San Bernadino is highly recommended.
