- From $175.95 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 6.8Pleasant - What previous guests thought, 197 reviewsThe hotel was more a senior home for retired. It has 4 stars but doesn't meet criteria of even 2 stars. Very poorly equipped with old and warned out furniture and bed covers. Walls were wet and dirty, room was freezing cold and stinking like old people. Food was horrible with even worse service and terrible noise in the canteen. Hotel has one indoor jacuzzi where the water was luke warm and had so much chlorine, that it was burning our skin and noses. It was the worst hotel experience I ever had.Guest review byZuzSlovakia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very Good - What previous guests thought, 855 reviewsGreat location - walking distance of the port, bus station, restaurants, supermarket and shops - the area was quiet and I felt safe. Breakfast was very good with different cakes each day. Lunches and dinners can also be booked at the hotel restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful and can arrange tours. The room was very clean and spacious. Unfortunately I did not have time to make use of the extensive spa facilities that are available.Guest review byBonnie YaelIsrael
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Excellent - What previous guests thought, 781 reviewsIf I could rate this hotel at 11/10 I would. The location, facilities, attentive and helpful staff, the private beach/onsite spa, and incredible breakfast made my stay unforgettable. Everything was above and beyond all expectations. WiFi worked perfectly across the entire property and the bed was soooooo comfortable. I wish I could have stayed longer. Ischia is a wonderful, magical island.Guest review byKirbyUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 320 reviewsGood value for money, it’s not a super fancy hotel but we did not expect that so our expectations were aligned. Good variety on breakfast. The beds and bedding were excellent, facilities are a little bit old but still overall clean and exactly what you need. Only about 10 min to the port and very well located in the town for shops and restaurants.Guest review byShannonSwitzerland

They gave us such good advice about where to go and helped us so much with making reservations for dinners/taxis. The property itself is so beautiful and the garden/pool is so relaxing. I wish we could’ve stayed much, much longer!Guest review byFinnyUnited States

The staff were friendly. Cold Peronis were at hand. Only a 10 to 15 leisurely walk to the harbor. I made it to an evening Mass at Saint John Joseph of the Cross just prior to the harbor.Guest review byMartinUnited States

Lovely island to stay in.
Lovely island to stay in. Spent half a dozen days in Ischia Port, and half a dozen in Forio. Laid back atmosphere in both places (September, nearing end of season), although still busy. Would recommend a boat drip around the island (we used "West Coast" tours out of Forio, they were excellent hosts on a 7 hour day trip). Day trip to Procida out of Ischia Port was also a big plus. Day trip to Sorrento was good, although allow a longer travelling time each way (2 hours each way generally). If there at time of Ischia Port festival (mid september for us) then make sure you get a place early at the port to sit down, get a drink or 2, view the fireworks and display over the port.Guest review byMcfadge65United Kingdom - 8.0

There isn't that much to see and so two or three days is all you need. The roads are vertiginous . Make sure you have heard of the film IL POSTINO. Loads of good restaurants but you have to like fish and seafood. Meat is virtually non existent.Guest review byMichaelUnited Kingdom - 6.0
No parking.
No parking. Many steps to get to the piazza and port and not pedestrian safe. Not geared to tourists. Shops for local consumption mostly. Ok for a day or two but traffic in and out is terrible and not a good base for exploring the area. I found the restaurants good but expensive.Guest review byAndreaUnited States - 6.0

Almost only Italians are in Bacoli, very few international tourists, which makes it a special experience. You can just relax and enjoy the sea at several beaches, many of which are free, like Spiaggia del Poggio and Lido Schiacchetiello. There's quite a large supermarket on Via Roma with lots of nice local cheese, meat and fruits & veggies. Everything within Bacoli is walking distance. We used public transport to get there and around, EAV buses run mostly on schedule to reach for instance, Pozzuoli. Pozzuoli may be a better choice to stay if you want to discover the Roman ruins and the islands. There are some things to see and do in Bacoli as well, like visiting the Castle with amazing Roman sculptures and the Piscina Mirabilis is also interesting to see.Guest review byBarbaraHungary - 6.0

I used to live here for 2 years.
I used to live here for 2 years. I like how it is more peaceful than Naples. The restaurants have very good food, especially the pizza a la lenio. I love the markets you have called mercantinos. I love the beaches as well. I don’t like the massive amount of traffic around 10am on Sundays. That’s only in the summer though. All in all I love lago patria.Guest review byIreneMexico - 4.0

We loved the owners of the hotel that we stayed at but as for the town it was a dump with all due respect! It was way out of Naples and access to the beach is impossible without a car, not much affordable transport options in Italy. I would not return to Varcaturo and probably not Italy for that matter. This experience has put us off! The owners of our hotel are the only reason we would consider returning to Italy due to there warm hospitality but sadly wouldn’t stay there again solely due to the location.Guest review byAlanahAustralia - 10.0

A quaint town, very hilly, so if walking is not your thing consider this as the driving is not for the faint hearted...We used the bus which was a little confusing but all part of the experience and even when the bus drivers spoke no English they were happy to try to assist. Lovely beaches, not too busy in June but i am sure are packed in the heart of summer.Guest review byBridgetUnited Kingdom - 10.0

There are so many golden nuggets on this Island that we only touched the tip of what it had to offer. One could easily spend a fortnight here and come away with having experienced so much diversity and uniqueness unlike you would get on a normal beach Island holiday. Giardini la Moretella was very inspiring as were our visits to Forio and St. Angelo. Had we stayed longer we may have done some of the beaches/thermal spas and headed further up the mountains having hired a car.Beware of the buses! Convenient and cheap but not good if you have mobility issues as seats rarely available and lots of twists and turns. Have ended up with bruises so not a comfortable ride. I think next time we will find a different way of doing things but glad to have experienced everything it had to offer.Guest review byBhartiUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Procida just keeps amazing us with its diversity and beauty.
Procida just keeps amazing us with its diversity and beauty. In the few days we have been here we have walked the length and breadth of the island, circumnavigated on a small boat captained by Captain Luigi, who was a retired Cruise ship Captain and now conducts sunset cruises around the island, including drinks, snacks and commentary. We sampled the beach (black sand, pebbles and nothing compared to any Australian Beach), saw where the Procida Film Festival was being run, came across bananas growing in someone's garden and dined on the waterfront at various restaurantsGuest review byDavidAustralia
