The old town is great and if possible stay within the old town. There are many excursions from the port. There is better value to be found in some of the smaller restaurants and bars away from the main square.Guest review bywilliamIreland - 10.0

Picturesque city with a nice vibe close to the beach of Poetto and the amazing beaches around Villasimius. Mid september it didn’t feel overly touristy and no issues booking tables at the more popular restaurants. The Marina area is packed with restaurants and walking distance to Quartieri Castello and Bonaria. Recommend checking out the area towards Bonaria since it’s less touristy and has amazing coffee shops, plus parking outside the ZTL zone. Best pasta restaurants in the Marina area were Impasto and Sa Domu Sarda. Cagliari itself can be enjoyed during three full days, the interesting areas are quite small. Combined with days at the beach a full week is recommended. Prego!Guest review byAlexanderSweden - 10.0

Its a great place to stay to discover the area (east side of the island), its right in the middle to visit La Magdalena and Oroseo Gulf. There is plenty of restaurants and things to do/visit. The beaches around the city were great as well (pitulongu, port istana). There are not a lot of parking places around so you might need to drive for a while and "fight" for a spot.Guest review byLucasSpain - 8.0
Lovely little town, perfect size to easily walk around.
Lovely little town, perfect size to easily walk around. Plenty of restaurants and bars. The night market is a nice to stroll through in the evening. La Cinta beach is lovely, can get busy and toilet/shower facilities are a bit ropy. There is lots of different types of accommodation too, to suit all needs.Guest review byRorySweden - 10.0

We have stayed in other very nice resorts and hotels with robust amenities throughout Sardinia and this was easily our favorite one. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and went out of their way to assist us. In addition to the hotel, we loved touring around Capo Testa and spent a lot of time in Santa Teresa which is a very charming town near the hotel. Next time we will spend more time at the beaches since an injury prevented us from navigating the rocky beach.Guest review byDavidUnited States - 6.0

We went to Cala gonone to visit the famous beaches via boat from the port but the weather let us down unfortunately, not much else to do although it’s a beautiful place and we were only there for 2 daysGuest review byGregUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Friendly locals and beautiful long beaches, great even for kids — plenty of space despite rows of sunbeds. Poor beachside services: toilets and showers open only from the second week of June. This year, unfortunately, tons of seagrass have washed up, which might cause issues for sensitive individuals.Guest review byDavidCzech Republic - 10.0
The best place in Sardinia.
The best place in Sardinia. Cute Italian town with picturesque houses, great restaurants and the best gelato. We loved going from beach to beach, they all possess different qualities, but they are all lovely with the bluest water I’ve seen. You definitely need a car or a Vespa to get the best experience. Taking a boat trip for a day is also a must! Would strongly recommend spending a few days in La Maddalena!Guest review byTameshaNorway - 10.0

Castelsardo itself is an interesting small city with its castle and round streets. Hikers and people doing "steps" should love hundreds of steers and narrow uphill streets, especially in the rather well preserved tower area. And, it hides so good seafood restaurants with spectacular views. I thought I had it all already, yet we were seriously surprised of the food and service quality. Sure, tripadvisor points tell the story. Yet in some cities you could find pizza kiosks also with ratings like 4.8, so watch out. Trekking and hiking roads are also near by. Beware of review dates. Some are full of bushes, still not cleaned, so it took us 3 tryouts to find a decent track. Most of these tracks are unmarked. Would be hard to find these if you have experienced German way of marking tracks.Guest review byMikk OrglaanEstonia - 10.0

Absolutely loved Orosei- such a beautiful town with plenty of bars and restaurants. Lots of locals around so didn’t feel overly touristy. Within half an hour of loads of stunning beaches but Orosei beach itself is pretty good anyway. Great base for exploring the local area. We would highly recommend Pizzeria Orion for amazing pizzas!Guest review byKateUnited Kingdom
