The hotel is located in a beautiful place surrounded by the mountains and the views of Tuscany. The room was very pretty and the beds were comfortable (we were lucky to get an upgraded room). The spa was very clean and had everything we needed to relax after a long day. The breakfast was delicious and had variety choices of food. You're in heart of Tuscany. Far away from city this hotel is located in country ,you're surrounded by wineries and olive orchards everywhere you look. It offers you relaxation, serenity,,total rejuvenation for your body and soul. If you like nightlife and party nights, this complex is not for you. It's quiet, big, there is a piece of history in every direction you look and calmness in every step and breath you take there. Lots of gardens, greenery, orchards, fields everywhere around you Long alleys and arched hallways just to walk, relax and enjoy. We had dinner reservation in their on site restaurant, the food was fantastic, dinner of 3 courses lasted almost 3 hrs,but there is no reason to rush anything or anywhere. The room we stayed in was a double bed room, not very big,but they have variety of options if you're staying longer then 1 night and want more spacious and comfortable room. This was definitely one of our best stays ever we've experienced so far. Strongly recommended for soul and body soothing individuals

This was an amazing few nights stay for us. The resort is fabulous, located by the beach, little chalets are between pines trees. The chalet we had was perfect for our family of 5. There is plenty to do for the kids. Pools were very busy but we didn’t mind as the beach and sea was what we preferred. Our son was the only speaking child in the kids club ( this was. A group for 10 year olds) but the person looking after the group (Abdullah) made sure that our boys felt included and had a great time. The Italian boys were also very welcoming and super kind and so my son had a very good time. We loved the evening entertainment. Food was a bit meh, for Italian beautiful food standards but it was fresh and overall ok for few days (I am not sure I would be happy if we stayed over the week 😀 the cook really needs to learn how to make scrambled eggs. But the omlettes were good). The little shop on the facilities was just great for daily groceries. Overal amazing!

It’s very cute and quaint with a variety of camping types (personal tents and campers but also rentable mobile homes and tent houses). I love that there is not auto traffic though the campground which makes it quiet and safe for walking. The mobile home we rented was clean and comfortable. All linens were included which was appreciated as we were traveling by bike. The beach was really nice and the water was very shallow for a long ways out.

The area of the village is very comfortable. Lots of shade, which allows you to stay cool even on the hottest days. Nice little house/tent with everything you need (kitchen, shower, air conditioning and a wide terrace) Good sandy beach was close to our house - just 1 minute to the sea. Free canoes and paddle boards on the beach Nice seafood restaurant + pizza and ice-cream for kids directly on the beach.

Loved every single detail about the property. The reason I gave 4/5 for location is because the hotel is located in a very remote and secluded area, which is the whole idea about relaxation. If you want to have any activity outside the hotel there is no taxi, Uber, bus, shuttle, public transportation,…. You MUST have a car or you need to pay a very high fee to have a private transfer by the hotel.

Impeccably run campsite on beach in remote, non-touristy area. We admired the design of our 5 person lodge tent, with 2 BR and BA, full kitchen and deck. Great private restaurant on grounds and a store, very quiet, friendly. The area seemed safe since no one locked up their bikes except electric bikes. Good compact design of site, not too far to walk to the beach.

Very historic city with lots of museums, statues, churches, restaurants. Enjoyed the opera singer and violinist playing Friday evening outside of the Duomo. Don't miss the view of the city from Michelangelo Piazza. It is a busy place with lots of tourists and fast passes definitely help with the line-ups. We did find eating and drinking was expensive.

We flew into Pisa, but choses to stay in Lucca because of the parkrun on Saturday morning. Then we set about finding out what Lucca had to offer, and it was a lot! Beautiful walled city, where every street is pretty and a joy to walk along. Lots of cafes, restaurants, ice cream places and other shops. The walk along the wall was pleasant and had great views of the city and the Tuscan hills. Very clean, welcoming and friendly place to visit and not afflicted by the over-touristism in neighbouring Florence and Pisa.

Was not impressed with the city and expected more given all the review I read online. My disapointment could be due to the fact I visited in February, so off season. I booked two nights but decided to only stay for one and left early. Even though I booked a room in the central part of the city I did not feel safe walking the streets at night.

Just my wife and I, trying to get some feel for Tuscany. We were on a ridge, overlooking a valley of wine fields and olive tree orchards, and looking up at Montepulciano. We loved Arezzo so much we decided to buy a home and retire here! City has it all - train directly into town, flat walkable and pedestrian friendly city with more delicious restaurants than one could ever try in a lifetime. Nice park with a view and amenities adjacent to Duomo and plenty of shopping - this is a city where people live and tourists tend to visit on famous Antique Market weekend so you get a sense of what it's like to actually live in an Italian town - hours of operation for shops and restaurants are Italian vs tourist, people are friendly and it's a safe city without the stress of pick pockets or crowds - most people miss Arezzo; don't be one of them!

    A very attractive town.

A very attractive town. The beaches are superb, but unless you head out of town you need to go into a beach club. There are no free access beaches in town. Some hotels have an arrangement with a beach club for free or discounted access for guests, so it is worth checking this if you intend to use the beaches. It can cost typically EUR30-40 for 2 chairs, a sunbed and an umbrella. They don't offer reduced rates until 3-4pm. That will add up after a few days. The restaurants are OK but nothing special. Most of them serve the same food, which can get boring. We ate in our hotel restaurant more than we usually would, but the quality and variety of food on offer was better than any outside restaurant we tried. Apart from the beach, shops and walking up and down the promenade, there is not much to actually do in Viarregio, so you may want to get out on some day trips. Pisa and Luca are accessible by train, although we found them both to be disappointing (especially Luca - what a dump!). We found the train service a bit hit and miss, although it is cheap. Consider hiring a car if you plan to get out of Viareggio. If you pick up and drop off at the airport, it will also be useful for airport transfers.
