This hotel is a special place, located in the Dolomites that could be rather easy, but it is on a category of locations that really deserve a sound 10. The rooms are ample and decorated with style, beds as confy as I have seen, bathroom just great and surgery room level clean. On top of that the Hotel has a really nice small indoor pool to unwind after a long day hiking up and down the great nearby locations. On top of that the breakfast is simply superb, and they go the extra mile to offer you additional recently made stuff at the table over the never ending buffet. And on top of all those things the personnel at the hotel is just the nicest, really welcoming, helping and kind of feels that they really love their work.

You expect nice hotel and you get nice hotel, nothing much else to stay. Staff was friendly and professional, everything was clean, the facilities thoughtful and immaculate. I am not a highly experienced traveler but I struggle to imagine what else someone could want from their guest experience. A bonus point for the dinner, which I thought given the pricing standards of tourist Südtirol was very good quality for what was charged.

If you are a solo traveler or traveling in a group and it’s your first time in the Dolomites, Grand Residence should be your top choice. - It’s an ideal place for both short and long stays, offering well-equipped studios and clean rooms, complete with a reliable heating system—something you’ll definitely need in this region. -The hotel team was exceptionally supportive and always available to provide information and guidance. - Location-wise, it's perfect if you don’t want to rent a car. Three different hiking trails begin just a 10-minute walk from the residence. You can easily visit the famous Lake Karersee (Lago di Carezza), walk to the suspension bridge (Hängebrücke Karer See - Ponte Sospeso), or take the cable car to the panoramic bench near the Alps (Panchina Panoramica). For more adventurous hikers, several mountain trails also start close to the hotel. - A final highlight is meeting Giandomenico, who was incredibly welcoming and always had a warm smile. As a solo female traveler, his kindness made my stay even more comfortable and enjoyable.

The overall feeling was that the hotel does its best to satisfy us. The location was excellent, with two elevators bringing us to really great walking areas. The dining room staff was exceptionally friendly, the food was home-made-tasty. The pool and the sauna were wonderful (though the water was too hot in the jacuzzi and a bit cool in the pool itself). The pictures on the walls were a real art warming our souls.

The hotel was lovely. Spa was great and so was the food. We loved our stay and would come again. It was my birthday during our stay and they sent a card and a bottle of wine to help me celebrate. A very nice surprise.

Nova Ponente is a few minutes drive from the village where...

Nova Ponente is a few minutes drive from the village where the apartment is at, but it offers a lot more eating and shopping options; it also happens to be quite active because it is on the road to many ski locations. It is good to have it be nearby but I preferred the restive peaceful village where the apartment is at.

While most people head for Val Gardena, this portion of the Dolomities has its own gem: a hike at 2500 meter across the peaks of the Rosengarten Spitze, the iconic Caressa Lake, as well as a hike from the twin peaks of Corno Bianco /Nero to the monastery of Madonna di Pietralba (Maria Weissenstein), to name a few gems.

In winter this is the best location to start the skiing / snowboarding Latemar experience. The number of lifts, slopes provides for a perfect skiing experience and you can ski all the way to Predazzo and back in a day without having to repeat any of the lifts or slopes unless you like any of them so much that you want to. I keep coming back to Obereggen every winter, it is simply wonderful.

I liked and disliked the same thing about the resort-the fact that it was pretty empty which meant no queues for the chair lifts. However, the fact that it was so empty meant no apres ski at all, which in the evening felt a bit liveless and sad.

The setting there is just perfect.

The setting there is just perfect. You’re in a valley and have access to several different hiking paths or mountain biking paths. The towns are your typical south to roll little towns. They was just beautiful, surrounded by the dolomites.

If the big touristic centres are not for you, but you still...

If the big touristic centres are not for you, but you still striving for a good quality of winter sports - Nova Levante/Carezza is an ideal place for you. Plus of location - not to far from Bolzano, which might be handy (e.g. there they have a hospital). Another nice locations for downhill skiing nearby - Obereggen. Or if you like it "intensive and grand" - Sellaronda.

Small ski resort with but with big ski network. Not so many people but still you find fun places for apres-ski and one disco (easy atmosphere). NO waiting at the cablecar or chairlifts in high season. Good ski.

Obereggen is a great place to visit in the summer, if you like to hike in a pristine and spectacular mountain landscape. However, it is relatively far from the main urbanized area and as a consequence does not appear to offer much in terms of in site social and cultural activities. It is mostly populated by hotels and second houses and it harbors essentially no village or local population, beyond those employed by the tourism industry or sparse local agriculture. The hotels generally offer half pension packages even though it is possible to have excellent meals in local restaurants, themselves mostly part of hotels.
