The Dolomites/Sella Ronda is world's second largest ski resort. The views on the Dolomites is breathtaking and magnificent. The Italian food, on the slopes and in the villages, is delicious, good quality and good price. The Critallo hotel is located in Santa Cristina, 25min from the autostrada. The hospitality exceeded our expectations. Very friendly crew, really made us feel home, helped us when needed and did the extra mile to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The facilities were great (e.g ski room spa etc). Having the ski bus in front of the hotel made it extra convenient. We have a great time, would certainly recommend the ski resort and hotel.

We stayed in junior suite with balcony. It has a perfect Ortisei view. It was just 5 minutes walk to dowtown (returning back is uphill but it was ok even for me). Very delicious breakfast. Room was huge and lovely designed. Sitting at the balcony was lovely. It has a free parking place in front of the hotel. Reception and rooms are nicely decorated

We loved the quaintness of this property and it’s proximity to the T-bar where we caught the quick lift to the top of the hill and then ski’d through town to Campioni ski lift. The rooms were well appointed and extremely cozy. The breakfasts were well stocked and had a nice variety.

    My partner and I both agree that Hotel Tyrol is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. Breakfast was amazing every day. The ski locker room was very convenient and only a few steps to the first lift. The spa had a variety of different saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, and pools and was never too crowded. The hotel was a great starting point to access the Sella Rhonda loop and one of the largest ski areas we have ever seen. Staff were all very friendly and greeted us by name each day. The restaurant's food and service was exceptional! If you are considering staying at this hotel don't hesitate - book a room now and you won't be disappointed. We were so happy with our experience here - it was the highlight of our entire trip to Italy.

    At Scherlin we had one of the best hotel experience. Since we arrived there we felt like in a story.It started to snow and all the lights from hotel made the perfect stay there.We got also a room upgrade free of charge with a stunning view of the entire valley.Everything was top, from breakfast, to room, to the spa and interior/exterior pool with hot water and of course all sparkling clean.     Breakfast buffet was really great. Had forgotten that I reserved the full board and the dinner was amazing! So nice not to have to go anywhere, but even more than that it was a full 5 course beautifully presented meal in their lovely dining room. The hotel is only one building below the gondola so easy walk up in the morning to ski, and ski right down to the hotel at the end of the day. Beautiful view of the mountain from the hotel!

    My room was so nice! It was a renovated attic room and it couldn’t have been more perfect for 1-2 people. The breakfast staff, Aurelia, was so nice and friendly.     I loved that the parking was included in the price of the stay. The apartment was well stocked with cooking and eating amenities. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The spa for only $12€ was a bonus after a long day of hiking. The proximity to the grocery store made it easy to stock up. The gondola in town is only 2min away.

    Because of the two gondolas accessible in town, we were able to explore both sides and experience a variety of terrain, none extremely challenging which worked for our various fitness levels. The views are stupendous and the convenience of the huts along the trails for lunch, a drink or even a break from the rain were fantastic. We didn't need to worry about packing snacks or lunches, and instead enjoyed reasonably priced, delicious meals along our hikes.

    Great base near many cable cars to get up the hills and enjoy the walking and views. Free buses between all the villages is a great help and they run regularly. We stayed 5 nights and then went over to just south of Cortina for a further 5 nights which was a really good balance to explore different areas of the Dolimites with less driving.

    A lovely town in the valley with plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants but also gave easy access up into the mountains via cable car/funicular. Also easy to get the bus to St Christina and Selva for other cables cars and walks. The Val Gardena mountains are simply stunning with plenty of great walking accessible from Ortesei

    The town is the perfect location to explore the Dolomites. Hotels and Apartments are plentiful and in every price level. You can choose from so many hikes (all different levels) you can fill 3 weeks. Depending what other locations are on your itinerary, 3 days allow you to see the highlights and get a sense of the beauty of the Dolomites. Yet, it's easy to fill a week. Summer like winter.

    We really enjoyed our stay in this holiday house! Great location – very close to the cable cars that take you to Seceda and Monte Pana in the beautiful Dolomites. The area is peaceful and scenic, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The hosts were very kind, welcomed us with gifts, and gave us great tips on what to see and do nearby. The house had everything we needed: brand-new beds, super comfortable mattresses, and the host kindly provided lower pillows upon request. Everything was very clean and well maintained. We stayed on the ground floor – although the weather was rainy, it was always warm inside thanks to the heating. A perfect place for both active holidays and peaceful rest – highly recommended!

    There is something for everyone in Ortesei and it is a special family destination as well. We loved the summer climate, the cool crisp air, and the beauty of the amazing Dolomites. The restaurants were great, there was ample shopping, and the locals were warm, friendly and helpful. We did not have a car, but did not need one with the free bus system that was very efficient. The gondolas, funicular annd chair lifts took us to some great spots for hiking and the ambience in the Refugios was great!

    While Selva absolutely lived up to everything we had heard about how spectacular the Dolomites are, we unfortunately had no fresh snow. We'd made a very long trip from Australia to ski and snowboard, so it was disappointing. That said, we had decent cover and loved the long runs and apres venues. Completing the Sellaronda is one of the best experiences I've ever had on skis.

    Santa Cristina Val Gardena is an absolute gem in the Dolomites. The town perfectly balances peaceful Alpine charm with great access to outdoor adventures. It's smaller and quieter than nearby Ortisei or Selva, which made it feel more authentic and relaxing, but it still offers everything you need — cozy cafes, excellent restaurants, and beautiful walking paths right from the center.
