The city is clean, tidy and well laid out.
The city is clean, tidy and well laid out. There is a lot to see and places to visit. It was easy to get around and everyone we came in contact with was helpful and kind. The Peace Park and the Museum are a must to visit. The whole area has a great sense of calmness. Miyajuma Island is well worth a visit. It's beautiful and only took 45 to get there on a ferry from the Peace Park. Lots of places to eat and soak up the surroundings.Guest review byPaulUnited Kingdom - 10.0

It isn’t a typical tourist destination from my understanding but the gardens by night are absolutely stunning. The casual is also beautiful and I’m sad to have missed the pottery class. Food and bars also exceptional - everybody is particularly friendly, and perhaps less used to accommodating tourists. Coffee: Empire coffee roasters. Friendly service and outstanding coffee. Food: Hidaya Yanigamachi. Grill your own delicious meat. Drink: ichigin. Super friendly and will involve you in conversations even if you don’t speak Japanese.Guest review byAlexUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Only spent one day at the end of our trip which was enough to basically shop and wander the historical area which I think is the main attraction anyway. Beautiful, scenic, clean, historic. And we loved Yoshii Ryokan in the heart of it all. Definitely worth a visit.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

It does get busy during the day when lots of tourists come over by ferry for the day however we hired bikes and managed to stay clear of the crowds for the most part. The Island becomes very quite in the evening which is perfect, I would advise that you book a restaurant as lots of the island closes around 5-6pm so anything that is open later gets booked up. We were very lucky to just get the last free table on two occasions. Also the deer wandering around especially in the dusk and evening before al the ferries drop off are enchanting, however they are not like the deer in Nara park and there are lots of signs that remind people not to feed or bother the deer, not everyone follows these rules which is disappointing.Guest review byDonnaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The tourist information Centre was great.
The tourist information Centre was great. Had good information and most. There is a loop bus to take you to the Castle and other points. The observation deck at the Bank was wonderful. The views spectacular of Matsue. Looked a tidy place, well looked after and comfortable to visit.Guest review byRogerNew Zealand - 10.0

Onomichi is a picturesque and walkable city with lots of charm. You can stroll the vintage shotegai, visit the art museum, enjoy a snack at Onomichi U2, take a temple walk, ride the ropeway, and of course, biking the Shimanami Kaido. The people are friendly and the food and shopping are great.Guest review byLindsayUnited States - 10.0

It’s a little off the main tourist route, which is why it’s worth a visit. In November the weather was great. It was easy to visit the castle and grounds and a bus trip to Tomonoura was great way to spend the day. A little fishing port famous for being in films and again not too busy. In Fukuyama a visit to the Clock and auto museum is like entering an Aladdin’s cave of wonders. It’s full of the past and not just cars and clocks. Lots of small owner run restaurants as well.Guest review byCostelloeCanada - 10.0

A very quiet city in the remote Sanin region, from exploring the lores of the region to the food throughout the city, it was a great trip. The only note is that the shops here close earlier so you do have to set off earlier compared to usual. Other spots nearby that could be explored were Matsue and Yonago.Guest review byKendricSingapore - 10.0
I honestly feel everyone should visit Hiroshima.
I honestly feel everyone should visit Hiroshima. First off, the bomb being dropped there was one of the defining events of the 20th cenrtury and the peace museum is a somber reminder to us all to never forget how horibl war is. Secondly, it's incredible to see the city that has grown up in the 80 years since. It is a beautiful city of rivers and bridges and is very walkable with yummy fod everywhere. Finally, the island of Miyajima is an easy ferry hop from downtown with its beautiful shrine and iconic torii (and tame deer).Guest review byDarylCanada
