Kanazawa is a worthy location, however I expected it to be more visually interesting than it was. It is often compared as a "smaller" version of Kyoto. It may indeed be smaller, but Kyoto is far more diverse and beautiful.Guest review bymichaelUnited States - 10.0
People there are very helpful and courteous.
People there are very helpful and courteous. It is very clean, and uncongested. Quiet and peaceful, unlike the other cities. I highkt recommend pairing Toyama and Tetayama, i.e. 3 and 2 nights respectively . Simply amazing.Guest review byWangSingapore - 10.0

We enjoyed the parts of town we were able to experience during our short stay. The train station and surrounding area is dinosaur themed. It's really quite cool and very unique. During our stay we visited the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum which our family (kids are aged 14 & 11) enjoyed. The train (and bus) trip to the museum was scenic and very pleasant. Due to the size of Fukui it was easy to get around. There are plenty of places to eat and shop (again not too far from the train station). I wish we could've stayed a little longer.Guest review byhelena - 10.0

We picked Tsuruga because it was only 2.5 hours drive from Chubu International Airport. It was perfect as a base to explore the areas around. Tsuruga is a seaside town so there were plenty of seafood if you are a sashimi and sushi fan.Guest review byNoraHong Kong - 10.0

The onsen was totally Japanese in style and attention to detail, very relaxing and with a staff dedicated to providing the best service. They were attentive and helpful. The forest near the onsen was beautiful for hiking and contemplating nature. Loved it. I will definitely return and to the same onsen.Guest review bymouyiarisUnited States - 10.0

The hotel was fantastic, evening and more than my team expected! We loved the traditional clothing and meals, especially dinner. The breakfast for most Americans is a little rough. The hot springs were EPIC and the swimming was just right. Thank youGuest review byCoryGMAIL - 8.0

It was a wonderful experience for me since this is my first time to snow mountain , the view at Tateyama Kogen Hotel was really stunning . When i checked in it was very foggy and the next morning i just couldn't believe my eyes the ALPS peak is just in front of my room window . It was so close to me . It's really beautiful with the sunrise . Since i went there early 1st May , i can only see the snow wall corridor and the beauty of Kurobe dam . The view is really pretty. oh if you are planning to drive to Ogizawa , don't worry there are plenty of car park but make sure you arrive early . We park our car at Shinano Omachi and took a bus there as afraid can't find parking due to Golden week holiday , I could have drive up there !Guest review bySweeMalaysia - 10.0

Kanazawa is incredibly beautiful and felt like an underrated gem when we went there, as there were virtually no other tourists and the city was very calm and quiet. Lots of things to do, see and explore, and it kind of gives off similar vibes to Kyoto (with the historical districts and the river flowing through the city) but without the crowds. We had an amazing time there and would definitely return. We mostly walked everywhere because every street was gorgeous to look at. I recommend to visit the Kanazawa Castle and the garden next to it, the historical chaya districts (there are multiple) and the Oyama Shrine grounds. The city also offers amazing museums, which are worth a visit as well!Guest review byMariaGermany - 6.0

I booked 2 twin rooms for my stay on 27-29 Nov. 1 twin room for 2 persons. hence 2 twin rooms for 4 persons. however, when i checked in, i was told that i booked a twin room for 1 person and needed to top up for extra guest. When i told the staff that i paid for 2 twin rooms for 4 persons, I was asked to provide proof. I'm surprised that the hotel does not have record that i booked 2 twin rooms for 4 persons as the hotel sent me email to confirm that i booked 2 twin rooms for 4 persons. when i finally found the email as proof and showed the hotel staff, the staff then asked me if i booked for adults or children. I was really shocked and frustrated that after providing proof that i booked for 4 persons, then i have to provide proof that i booked for adults and not children. When i said that when booking the rooms, i clicked the twin room for 2 persons which did not indicate adults or children. The staff then asked me to wait and walked away. I waited for quite some time and the staff didn't get back to me. So i went to the front desk and asked the staff what's happening. then she said everything is ok now. This is really bad service. i didn't note the name of the 2 staff who attended to me.Guest review byireneSingapore - 8.0

Fukui has a beautiful modern railroad station serving up old-school rail lines that go through the rice fields to the surrounding area as well as Japan's fastest Shinkansen to Osaka and Kyoto. This station's decor showcases dinosaurs celebrating the largest discovery of remains in Japan to be found nearby. The station's tourist bureau, which has an English-speaking staff member available, has tours to the dinosaur museum and several other local sites, but trains and dinosaurs must be a wonderful way to travel with children. The tourist bureau provided me with a local walking map to gardens and a ruined castle even though I actually traveled to Fukui to only to visit Eiheiji, a Zen Monastery active since the 13th-century -- which was wonderful.Guest review bynancystoutItaly
