Ryokan Roka is located on what they call the "Art Island" Everything was Fabulous. Amazing. Perfect. Gorgeous. The staff was so helpful and willing to solve any problems or questions. We were provided with drivers and vans to help us get to the museums and galleries. Our room was the largest we had in our 6-week trip to Japan. Unusual and amazing - what a treat! The food was beyond fantastic... it was Mouthwatering delicious. We had all come to view art, and it was wonderful to also be surrounded by art throughout the hotel So, so happy we stayed here.

Very efficient and high-tech capsule dorm room with many bunk beds. I thought it would be hard to sleep since dozens of people share the space but not at all! It was absolutely quiet at night. It's perfectly clean, the staff speaks English and is always extremely helpful. Really a great experience. Great value for money!

Takamatsu is a regional town on Shikoku Island in Japan.

Takamatsu is a regional town on Shikoku Island in Japan. It is quite relaxed and has everything that you may look for in big cities. Shikoku Island is one of the main 4 Islands of Japan. It is good to reach by train, bus and even by airplane. It has an old history and boasts of many traditional handicrafts, regional specialties (such as udon noodles), etc. Always worth a visit - even if it is in the rainy season.

The island has some of the best art museums I've visited, not in the amount of art pieces, but the flow, quality and architectural side of them. It is very much needed to book everything in advance, especially the more popular museums and electric bicycles, it is most definitely worth to move around the island like that.

I ejoyed my stay in the Kabuki theatre, where a well-knolweged guide gave a great commentary. The trip to Konpira San was interesting. You will enojoy the walk to the main builiding, the grand view of Kotohira, the souvenir stores, and the museum with old Japanese paintings and art works.

Transport wasn't ideal at this time of year but if you timed the buses right you could see a lot of Shodoshima island in a few days. It was great being surrounded by olive and orange groves. It had a very Mediterranean feel to it. From my resort I only had to cross the road to Olive Park and it's many attractions. A lovely coffee shop, aptly called Dilly Dally, was only a few doors away. I visited the site of the movie "24 eyes", Angel Road, Olive Park and strolled along various beaches. A lovely place to wind down after Tokyo. I mainly cooked for myself but found a coffee shop that did lovely gluten free muffins near Angel Road.

Basic business hotel with no personal touches We would have preferred one double bed to two single beds which took up so much of the room that there was almost no space to put our bags, or even to walk around the beds Other than that, just what we expected. Quiet and bedroom okl

Beautiful Serene Please take good care of your beauty Don't make too many new modern buildings that cannot emerge ór blend to the nature or to the local traditional culture. Preserve your traditional village, preserve your traditional culture and be proud of them by showing them in your daily businesses. The most important thing is please take good care of your nature environment.

Nice visit to the soya sauce production. We also visited the olive tree park. In all places we visited people were very welcoming. We could have visited other areas of the island. People are kind and helpful (even when they hardly speak English). Transportation is reliable and connection well planned between buses and boats. Highly recommended!
