We liked that the city was only a short train ride to many other cities like downtown Toyko and Yokohama. It might not be for everyone, have to take one stop to Ofuna to transfer to other JR lines but very convenient visiting Kamakura and Enoshima. Plenty of stores around Fujusawa station for shopping. If you are planning to do a trip to Hakone, I think it is smarter to stay in Odawara than in Hakone-Yamoto. Odawara is a small town, but it has bars, restaurants, and is much more alive at night. Yes, you lose 20-30 min daily for your Hakone trip, but it is compensated with a wider variety of restaurants and bars. Our stay was excellent for me, location is near to public transportation (train) good restaurants are walkable and convinient stores too. The entire hotel is clean and offers good, delicious breakfast. Room was clean. Comfort room is kinda small but clean. Everything is excellent for me except the bed and pillows are not so soft.. because I was expecting a very soft pillows and bed but aside from that I enjoyed staying there.
