- From $201.47 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 690 reviewsSo close to the station, very convenient. My room looked exactly like in the picture w/ a beautiful sea view of Amanohashidate & the bay. I stayed there in July, during summer, and the AC was super cold, which I really appreciated. In the bathroom they have make up cleanser, toner, lotion by Pola very convenient. They also provide some product for men, shaving cream, aftershave & lotion. I also enjoyed the foot onsen at the back of the hotel, really relaxing. The garden at the back also offers a gorgeous sea view, perfect for unwinding. There’s a nice restaurant just a one-minute walk away, located on the second floor above a shop that sells food, sweets & knickknacks. It’s also easy to access the temple, ferry tour station and some charming little shops nearby. Don’t forget to stop by a lovely cafe right by the water, it's overlooking the rotating red bridge, they serve lovely desserts.Guest review byNindiyaIndonesia
- From $511.48 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Excellent - What previous guests thought, 3,860 reviewsThe location is good, the lobby has a relaxed atmosphere, and the Gion Festival music is really understated and elegant. The staff at both check-in and check-out were quick to work and friendly. The room was clean and the bed was my preferred firmness for a good night's sleep. Bottles of drinking water were also provided, which was helpful. The reception staff at the breakfast room was also sophisticated and helpful. I believe there were several breakfast items that were probably home-cooked Kyoto food. They were a little sweet for me, but I enjoyed the Kyoto flavor. I think that many people would probably find a hotel in Shijo more convenient than Kyoto Station, depending on their destination, but since I was attending a conference near Kyoto Station, it was the best option for me.Guest review byMiyukiSouth Korea
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 579 reviewsPerfect location. This was such a cool hotel and lots of details were meticulously chosen for the vibe. The staff was helpful and friendly. They downplayed their English abilities when asked, but their English was excellent. There is a laundry on site which can be helpful for packing light. The room was spacious, maybe around a standard US room size, with a spacious shower. There is a little outdoor cafe right outside and this hotel is just steps away from many historic streets. This hotel was truly unique.Guest review byBriannaUnited States
- From $168.23 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.5Good - What previous guests thought, 1,005 reviewsThe hotel is about 5 minutes away from the station so getting there was a breeze. Check-in and check-out were painlessly simple. The staff were so extremely friendly, even though I spoke almost 0 Japanese. The complimentary breakfast was well stocked and satisfying. I've read complaints about the room size and honestly as a solo traveller of 180cm, it was not an issue. The room was super comfortable and the washroom was adequate. Honestly the perfect place if you're planning to stay in and explore Kobe.Guest review byNicholas MohammedTrinidad and Tobago
- From $169.59 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 3,850 reviewsThis hotel is pretty cool, it has a very artistic vibe to it (I think it used to be a dormitory). They offered bike rentals which were an amazing way to see more of Kyoto without struggling with transport or walking too much. The breakfast was great, lots of variety and the home made Granola was excellent. I was amazed at the value for money.Guest review byChristinaSouth Africa
- From $434.28 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 1,830 reviewsWe LOVED this huge seaside hotel-- especially the cave onsen. It's got some of that Japan bubble aesthetic, as it was opened in 1956 and updated throughout Japan's boom times. Our room had an incredible view of the sea, and it was fun to just roam around the hotel. Wish we could have stayed longer!Guest review byHillary HewinsJapan

Kyoto is a vibrant and captivating destination that offers a seamless blend of tradition and modernity. Despite the large crowds, the city maintains an orderly and respectful atmosphere, with residents going about their routines discreetly. Visitors can enjoy an impressive variety of attractions, from UNESCO World Heritage temples and exquisite gardens to lively shopping streets and traditional tea houses. Whether you’re drawn to cultural experiences, natural beauty, or culinary delights, Kyoto provides an abundance of opportunities to explore and enjoyGuest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Kobe is a great city to visit. A vibrant, buzzing and cosmopolitan city with memorable features such as the ropeway to the herb garden at the JR Shin Kobe Station at Sannomiya (an absolute must for visitors), the Maya cable car and ropeway and the Akashi bridge to Awaji Island.Guest review byPeterAustralia - 10.0
Nara is beautiful.
Nara is beautiful. There are two UNESCO world heritage sites and lots of deer. If you are afraid of animals, I don't recommend it. The deer will follow you if you have food and they may try to take it from you if you hesitate or don't gently push them away. They are not, as a general rule, aggressive. A lot of tourists freak out and just throw their crackers. Don't do that. Stay calm. The deer don't want to hurt you, they just want a snack. They don't care for being pet either. Just snap your crackers (200 yen sold at different stands) into 3-4 pieces, hold out your hand flat and let them take it from you. Be aware of how many are around you. They will surround and nibble your clothing. I found this hilarious. I grew up with cows and they will pretty much do the same thing. Use your voice and be gentle. The one day bus pass is really useful. I wish I had more time in Nara.Guest review bySarahUnited States - 10.0

We only stayed one night when we arrived as we needed a place to recharge and freshen up before we head to Kyoto. The hotel is very nice with complete amenities in the room. The room we occupied has the view of the airport runway but we never heard any noise coming from the airplanes arriving and taking off. A bit expensive but it was worth it. Breakfast buffet was very good too.Guest review byAnonymous - 6.0

Himeji is obviously very famous for its castle, but other than that lacks many things to do. I found my time there to be rather boring, and we often struggled to find activities to fill our nights with. We used Himeji as a central location to take day trips from - since we booked during Golden Week, hotel prices in more ideal areas, such as Kobe, were heavily inflated and unreasonable.Guest review byJacob - 10.0

We are Americans so we had really little knowledge of Shirahama as a resort city. It was at the tail end of a 3 week tour of Japan and was very restful. Fortunately, we were there after Golden Week and before the main tourist season, so it was quiet and relaxing. We had fun over two nights at a local Turkish restaurant, Blue Bar. We'd recommend it. Also, the beach seemed quite nice although we had one day or rain so we didn't hang out there. While this wouldn't be a regular stop for Americans, I think it is worthwhile and an easy train ride to the airport in Osaka.Guest review byAndrew - 10.0

The scenic mountains near the city offers stunning sunset views. The Sakura were in full bloom. There are several parks around the city, and the impressive Wakayama castle. The hotel (Candeo Hotels Nankai) is great value - fantastic river views, rooftop onsen that you can enjoy the sunset. And right at the Wakayama Station. Good dining options around the hotel too.Guest review byKwokSingapore - 10.0

One of Japan's six ancient kiln towns. If you are into ceramics it's a brilliant place to visit. If you're not, it's a lovely, relaxed town with nice walks and good places to eat. Very close to Nagoya airport. There is a free shuttle bus into Tokoname or use the station. Home of the lucky waving cat - Maneki Neko!Guest review byCerysUnited Kingdom - 10.0
RELAXING QUIET GIFU!
RELAXING QUIET GIFU! We just wanted to visit other places in Japan. We have been to Japan a few times already. We like going to these kind of relaxing places. We went hiking, we walked everywhere since everything was walkable. We had so much local food and sake of course! ONSEN! Nature everywhere! We also met some of my aunt's family and friends. It felt like a home. We love everything in here. We could have stayed longer but will be back and will see the other sights. Thank you GIFU! :)Guest review byisi paniniPhilippines
