- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 687 reviewsHotel Kanra Kyoto exceeded every expectation - from its beautifully designed interiors and serene atmosphere, to the attention to detail in every corner. My room was spacious, elegant, and offered a perfect blend of traditional Japanese design with modern comfort. Beyond the room, the on-site Wagu restaurant was also really good - beautifully presented dishes and refined flavors. I also enjoyed drinks several times in the shared lounge area, which was both stylish and relaxing. The spa was another highlight, offering a serene space to unwind after long days exploring Kyoto. The service was outstanding. Every staff member I interacted with was warm, professional and went out of their way to assist. I felt genuinely welcomed and well cared for throughout my stay. This is more than just a hotel - it’s an experience. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto looking for comfort, aesthetics, and authentic hospitality.Guest review byLevanolGeorgia
- From $187.57 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 4,582 reviewsReally good location. Just a 2 minute walk from Kyoto Station. 7eleven is across the road. Starbucks, McDonald’s and Burger King are around the corner (if you want a chain) A food hall is nearby. Check in is through a machine, usual in Japan. Service was great, the reception has luggage hold service. The rooms are great size for Japan, and have the usual amenities. The bed was very comfortable and bathroom is great. We also had breakfast and it is very good with so many options. Was a great stay, only downside is the 10am checkout, that is a bit too early.Guest review byEdwardUnited Kingdom

Room was a great size and very comfortable. Staff were fantastic. I had to see a doctor while staying at the hotel and the staff were very helpful, contacting a nearby medical facility to book an appointment and explaining my symptoms. I would definitely stay here again if visiting Kyoto.Guest review byYvonneUnited Kingdom

We enjoyed visiting the many temples, shrines and gardens.
We enjoyed visiting the many temples, shrines and gardens. Numerous great photo opportunities. We hired a taxi for sightseeing. Convenient, flexible and reasonably priced, Young children ought to see the temples, shrines, gardens and museums too. It is good for them to gain an early appreciation of the area's cultural and historic treasures.Guest review byJONJapan - 10.0

Miyazu which includes Amanohashidate, is one of three natural sites in Japan. The land bridge spans across the sea is fun to view from the observation points (on both sides) and you can actually bike (20 minutes) or walk (50 minutes) one way across. A small town with lots of charm and beauty.Guest review byAmyCanada - 8.0
The staff was awesome!
The staff was awesome! They did everything in their power to ensure I had a pleasant stay. Room is extremely small by US standards! Room could use a microwave, the only one available was on the ground floor and I was on the 7th.Guest review byMarkGermany - 10.0

Kameoka is the starting point of the famous and historical Hozu River rafting ride that takes you to Arashiyama, home of the famous bamboo forest. Enjoy the rafting, enjoy Arashiyama and take the train back to Kameoka. Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the station. A perfect day.Guest review byDeepuJapan - 8.0
The owners were very friendly and helpful.
The owners were very friendly and helpful. Everything was very clean! The only confusion was that the description on Booking.com states that breakfast is available, it doesn’t say that you pay extra for it. I also paid for towels. If I understand correctly the coat is then deducted from the room fee but it really wasn’t clear.Guest review byCatherineCanada - 10.0

Lots of tourists on holidays but pretty peaceful on normal days. The beach was great but I think they limit the days you can swim. Nice stroll along the sandbar. Amanohashidate is the main thing, there's nothing much to do in Ine aside from taking the boat tour. It's probably best to take the tour that starts from Amanohashidate and goes straight to Ine if you want to save time.Guest review byAshwenPhilippines - 10.0
I especially recommend it to travelers from overseas.
I especially recommend it to travelers from overseas. If you are sightseeing in Kyoto, Nara, or Osaka for a few days, staying at this facility and using Kameoka as your base will be the best way to travel to Kansai. Like taking a day trip from your home. If your schedule is 2 nights and 3 days or 3 nights and 4 days, it is definitely a good deal even if you add transportation expenses. You can't stay in a house in Kyoto or Nara.Guest review byeltopoJapan - 10.0
