- From $262.65 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 697 reviewsSo close to the station, very convenient. My room looked exactly like in the picture w/ a beautiful sea view of Amanohashidate & the bay. I stayed there in July, during summer, and the AC was super cold, which I really appreciated. In the bathroom they have make up cleanser, toner, lotion by Pola very convenient. They also provide some product for men, shaving cream, aftershave & lotion. I also enjoyed the foot onsen at the back of the hotel, really relaxing. The garden at the back also offers a gorgeous sea view, perfect for unwinding. There’s a nice restaurant just a one-minute walk away, located on the second floor above a shop that sells food, sweets & knickknacks. It’s also easy to access the temple, ferry tour station and some charming little shops nearby. Don’t forget to stop by a lovely cafe right by the water, it's overlooking the rotating red bridge, they serve lovely desserts.Guest review byNindiyaIndonesia
- From $268.78 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Excellent - What previous guests thought, 1,072 reviewsThe hotel is about 20 minutes on foot from Kyoto Station, but around 8 minutes to the nearest subway station. It's only one stop on the subway from Kyoto Station. The rooms were small, but very cute! Each room has a record player and one record. You can check-out vinyls from downstairs as well. Breakfast was decent! They let you choose from a waffle or a bagel, and then you choose the other things yourself. My colleague and I LOVED the free ice cream every night. It was amazing.Guest review byBethanyJapan

We would highly recommend the Hotel in every category you can come up with. The room was comfortable and spacious, the view was spectacular and the location was perfect. A walk away from the underground, which was easy to navigate, restraints, cafes and fresh fruit and vegies. It is a 15 minute walk to the Nishiki markets which I. Itself was an amazing place.Guest review byDavidAustralia

Kyoto is a big city for someone like me, coming from a small and quiet country. The moment I arrived, I was amazed by how vibrant and full of life it was — every corner seemed to have something fascinating to see or experience. But if you don’t speak the language or plan ahead, it’s easy to feel a little lost in the fast pace and busyness. Thankfully, I was blessed to have friends there who guided me around, making it so much easier to explore and discover the beauty of Kyoto.Guest review byFaialofaNew Zealand - 10.0

Miyazu which includes Amanohashidate, is one of three natural sites in Japan. The land bridge spans across the sea is fun to view from the observation points (on both sides) and you can actually bike (20 minutes) or walk (50 minutes) one way across. A small town with lots of charm and beauty.Guest review byAmyCanada - 8.0
The staff was awesome!
The staff was awesome! They did everything in their power to ensure I had a pleasant stay. Room is extremely small by US standards! Room could use a microwave, the only one available was on the ground floor and I was on the 7th.Guest review byMarkGermany - 10.0

Kameoka is the starting point of the famous and historical Hozu River rafting ride that takes you to Arashiyama, home of the famous bamboo forest. Enjoy the rafting, enjoy Arashiyama and take the train back to Kameoka. Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the station. A perfect day.Guest review byDeepuJapan - 10.0

Gionmachi is a wonderful section of Kyoto and offers much to see and experience. It is easy, maybe 15 to 20 minutes taxi to other areas of Kyoto that are also beautiful, historical and traditional. Overall, this is a place I would come back to because I have much more to see.Guest review byAlanUnited States - 8.0
Kyoto is always fun to visit: because each destination’s...
Kyoto is always fun to visit: because each destination’s ambience changes with the seasons, it is nearly impossible to exhaust the choices of temples, shrines and Japanese gardens to enjoy, even over multiple visits. Plus, Kyoto offers a wide range of dining alternatives. Looking for less crowded alternatives to the most popular sites such as Kiyomizudera and Fushimi Inari Shrine? Some choices to consider are Honen-in, Eikan-do, Okuno-in and Chion-in on the east side, Kennin-ji with its “dragon ceiling” in Gion, or Sanjusangendo not far from Kiyomizu Dera. If you are heading to the famous Kinkaku-ji, be sure to visit Ryoanji’s renowned garden, of course, and for a true escape from Kyoto’s crowds, wander through the quiet, extensive grounds of Myoshinji, where you absolutely must linger to admire the exquisite Japanese garden at Taizo-in. Out Arashiyama way, visit Otagi Nenbutsu-ji and Adashino Nenbutsu-ji, walk along the Saga Toriimoto Preserved Street and take a look at the moss garden at Gio-ji, before joining the throngs again when you end your stroll at the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest.Guest review byTomJapan - 10.0
I especially recommend it to travelers from overseas.
I especially recommend it to travelers from overseas. If you are sightseeing in Kyoto, Nara, or Osaka for a few days, staying at this facility and using Kameoka as your base will be the best way to travel to Kansai. Like taking a day trip from your home. If your schedule is 2 nights and 3 days or 3 nights and 4 days, it is definitely a good deal even if you add transportation expenses. You can't stay in a house in Kyoto or Nara.Guest review byeltopoJapan - 10.0

I loved this hotel!!! The service was outstanding. The rooms were beautiful and clean. The location was perfect - close to town but not in town. We walked everywhere and felt very safe. Close to the train station as well. I will certainly stay here on my next trip to Kyoto.Guest review byCatherineUnited States - 8.0
Tons of temples, shrines and gardens.
Tons of temples, shrines and gardens. Lots of shopping and restaurants. My partner has Celiacs disease and found Kyoto had the most options available, in general they seem to accommodate food restrictions more. The city is very busy with tourists and popular places do get quite busy. You need to go early to certain sites if you'd like less crowds.Guest review byNicoleCanada
