- From $283.98 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Excellent - What previous guests thought, 510 reviewsThe staff there were all very friendly and helpful. I tried out the traditional Japanese room and it was the biggest room I ever lived traveling in Japan. On the first night it was even a bit frightening (if you are a Japanese horror movie lover). But I had 2 good night of sleeps there and the tatami was comfortable too. The staff there will help you to set up the bed and pillows which was very nice. they would light a night lamp for you after making the bed and it feels like home when you come back. The public bath is very comfortable too and I loved it. The location is perfect and it’s right after the Nara Kintetsu. I recommend this hotel and will definitely visit back.Guest review bycassiChina
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 539 reviewsWe took the room with private open bath, to enjoy it together as the onsen is otherwise sperated for man and woman. It was an amazing experience to have the dinner and breakfast served in the private traditional restaurant room overlooking the little garden with water. The staff was very kind and professional, felt very much taken care of, can totally recommend! It was the full experience taking a bath in our own garden and then dressing up in the yukata for the dinner and breakfast. 10/10 worth every penny!Guest review byAlettaGermany
- From $110.06 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very Good - What previous guests thought, 102 reviewsThe staff at Hotel Nosegawa was amazing. I casually asked if there was anywhere I could get oatmeal and soy milk and the next day when I came down, they had gone all the way into Koyasan and got me oatmeal and soy milk. Wow, I was shocked, that was above and beyond and totally unexpected. Such a generous group. The public bath was clean and enjoyable. In addition, the free shuttle to Koyasan was super convenient. We really loved our stay and would highly recommend it.Guest review byLynneUnited States
- From $84.24 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 1,250 reviewsThe interior design was luxurious and highly detailed in lacquer, marble, 2-tone chrome...similar to the old Capital or Okura before refurb. There are original chairs and light fixtures here,as well. I think the Nara Royal used to be on the edge of town overlooking the ancient Prefectural Halls in the rice fields (and on top of a natural hot spring)...now it is in town but close to 2 major thrifting shops! Service was top notch the whole way through.Guest review byEleanorHong Kong
- From $116.85 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 1,168 reviewsI booked the Super Hotel Premier JR Nara Eki only a few days prior to arrival in Nara and I am so glad I did. I was moving around Japan with a bicycle bag and related gear, so the location and convenience of this hotel was wonderful. The staff were very helpful at every turn and the facilities (e.g. laundry) were great. The breakfast was very good and I will definitely recommend this hotel to others.Guest review byCarl A CovelloCanada

So, when we arrived they had a room for one person, but they quickly amended my reservation. The staff are very kind here and welcoming. Easy to find, as it is near both JR and Kintetsu Nara stations. Great pillows!Guest review byWill_1989Japan

Nara is beautiful.
Nara is beautiful. There are two UNESCO world heritage sites and lots of deer. If you are afraid of animals, I don't recommend it. The deer will follow you if you have food and they may try to take it from you if you hesitate or don't gently push them away. They are not, as a general rule, aggressive. A lot of tourists freak out and just throw their crackers. Don't do that. Stay calm. The deer don't want to hurt you, they just want a snack. They don't care for being pet either. Just snap your crackers (200 yen sold at different stands) into 3-4 pieces, hold out your hand flat and let them take it from you. Be aware of how many are around you. They will surround and nibble your clothing. I found this hilarious. I grew up with cows and they will pretty much do the same thing. Use your voice and be gentle. The one day bus pass is really useful. I wish I had more time in Nara.Guest review bySarahUnited States - 10.0

Tenri is not as well-known as Nara or Asuka, but the area is dotted with dozens of key-hole shaped kofun, ancient burial mounds. Some are accessible and many are how they have been for hundreds of years.Guest review byBernadetteJapan - 10.0

Nara Koen (park) is a beautiful place.
Nara Koen (park) is a beautiful place. Todaiji and Kasuga Kaisha is located nearby. The Sarusawa Ike (pond) behind the Nara Park leads to shopping place. One can spend whole day around Nara. - Beware of the deer, they might get a bit aggressive when offering food. - It gets crowded during on-season.Guest review byLopa - 10.0
I love the deer and the ambiance of Nara.
I love the deer and the ambiance of Nara. Arrive early and expect crowds. As with anything else, the further you walk from the main area, you can stumble across more peaceful and secluded places. I would avoid Nara on the weekend, if possible. Deer can be friendly (and bow politely to ask for a treat) or aggressive (grabbing items out of your bag, biting your clothing, or being over-zealous). Keep your crackers high or out of sight and feel free to walk away from deer that are not vibing.Guest review byAmyUnited States
