- From $90.06 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.7Good - What previous guests thought, 679 reviewsStay there at end of 2024. Location was great as it was between Nara Station and Kintensu Nara Station. Clean Small room but that is typical in Japan. The people at the front desk was friendly and speak good English. They greeted me everytime i go out or come back to the hotel. There were a lot restaurants nearby so choice of foods was endless. Konbini store was nearby.Nara park was a 20 minute walk. Tourist shopping areas was a 10 minute walk. WIFI connection was strong. Windows can be open for fresh air. The bathtub was awesome! You can soak in there for hours as it was deep.😅😅Guest review byKazui80Brunei
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 539 reviewsThe location and the vibe. It's close enough to the main attractions (especially with the shuttle bus service), yet offers sufficient respite from the bustling city. The facilities are great and as shown in photos. The room is clean and comfy. The meals provided are awesome and with lots of varieties to let us have a taste of the various traditional Japanese food. Last and most importantly, the service is really top-notch. Special thanks to Sho-san for making sure we are well taken care of.Guest review byRu JinSingapore
- From $109.70 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very Good - What previous guests thought, 102 reviewsThe staff at Hotel Nosegawa was amazing. I casually asked if there was anywhere I could get oatmeal and soy milk and the next day when I came down, they had gone all the way into Koyasan and got me oatmeal and soy milk. Wow, I was shocked, that was above and beyond and totally unexpected. Such a generous group. The public bath was clean and enjoyable. In addition, the free shuttle to Koyasan was super convenient. We really loved our stay and would highly recommend it.Guest review byLynneUnited States
- From $83.97 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 1,249 reviewsThe interior design was luxurious and highly detailed in lacquer, marble, 2-tone chrome...similar to the old Capital or Okura before refurb. There are original chairs and light fixtures here,as well. I think the Nara Royal used to be on the edge of town overlooking the ancient Prefectural Halls in the rice fields (and on top of a natural hot spring)...now it is in town but close to 2 major thrifting shops! Service was top notch the whole way through.Guest review byEleanorHong Kong

- From $96.83 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very Good - What previous guests thought, 246 reviewsSpotlessly clean. Breakfast was nice, the very spacious room had - I suppose - a Japanese design. A comfortable double bed, a low table and two very low stools, but no sofa, no chair, no desk. Very spacious bathroom. A Jacuzzi in the bathroom AND on the terrace!Guest review byPetraSpain

My favorite part of the day. Although they run out shortly after the 3pm check-in window, the pillow selection of various softness is great...if you can grab one.Guest review byYokoUnited States

Nara is beautiful.
Nara is beautiful. There are two UNESCO world heritage sites and lots of deer. If you are afraid of animals, I don't recommend it. The deer will follow you if you have food and they may try to take it from you if you hesitate or don't gently push them away. They are not, as a general rule, aggressive. A lot of tourists freak out and just throw their crackers. Don't do that. Stay calm. The deer don't want to hurt you, they just want a snack. They don't care for being pet either. Just snap your crackers (200 yen sold at different stands) into 3-4 pieces, hold out your hand flat and let them take it from you. Be aware of how many are around you. They will surround and nibble your clothing. I found this hilarious. I grew up with cows and they will pretty much do the same thing. Use your voice and be gentle. The one day bus pass is really useful. I wish I had more time in Nara.Guest review bySarahUnited States - 10.0

Tenri is not as well-known as Nara or Asuka, but the area is dotted with dozens of key-hole shaped kofun, ancient burial mounds. Some are accessible and many are how they have been for hundreds of years.Guest review byBernadetteJapan - 10.0

Nara Koen (park) is a beautiful place.
Nara Koen (park) is a beautiful place. Todaiji and Kasuga Kaisha is located nearby. The Sarusawa Ike (pond) behind the Nara Park leads to shopping place. One can spend whole day around Nara. - Beware of the deer, they might get a bit aggressive when offering food. - It gets crowded during on-season.Guest review byLopa - 10.0
I love the deer and the ambiance of Nara.
I love the deer and the ambiance of Nara. Arrive early and expect crowds. As with anything else, the further you walk from the main area, you can stumble across more peaceful and secluded places. I would avoid Nara on the weekend, if possible. Deer can be friendly (and bow politely to ask for a treat) or aggressive (grabbing items out of your bag, biting your clothing, or being over-zealous). Keep your crackers high or out of sight and feel free to walk away from deer that are not vibing.Guest review byAmyUnited States
