- From $238.36 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Excellent - What previous guests thought, 263 reviewsRoom: Traditional Japanese Style. It has a seating area with a view to the mountain. The bathroom has a shower and bath, both. The toilet has its own door so it's separated. Additional bedding in the closet can be used. It's very spacious for a couple. Daily local snacks and hotel newsletters in the room - they are also sold in the hotel store in case you like it. Although it's an older hotel, it's very organized and clean - it gives homey feelings. Hot Springs (Public bath): 28 different styles in two floors, indoor and outdoor. Being in an outside hot spring with a view to the mountain when it's snowing is super comfy. 24 hours access to at least a few. Service: There are robes (Yukata) with many different sizes - it can accommodate tall people. Women have even more options, colorful ones. Transportation to/from Yuzawa JR train station is available. Staff is very friendly. Some may not speak English, but we didn't expect that they would as we are in their country and we should be the ones trying to speak their language. We didn't experience any difficulties due to language. Breakfast: Many options with chefs cooking on site, such as making grilled fish and omelet. The coffee cups are tiny, but you can use the ones at the western style breakfast session (it has bread and cold milk on the table), and then you will have a small American size coffee. Location: In the center of the town, walking distance to train station, ski resort, and restaurants. We love it and will visit again!Guest review byE&S RUnited States
- From $105.64 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very Good - What previous guests thought, 450 reviewsVery convenient location right by the main Niigata station and Shinkansen and buses to access the rest of the Niigata city. The breakfast was excellent and had many fresh local speciality’s and both traditional Japanese dishes and western foods. The station is also right near a hopping izakaya district with cheap drinks and great snacks, and the close proximity to the hotel means that it’s 3 min walk. We were worried that the trains and downtown area would be loud but the hotel was well insulated from outside sounds, and we only occasioally hear our neighbours through the walls but overall very quite and we had a great sleep.Guest review byChihiroCanada

I love all the day that we stay here very nice. The room is so clean. The room like that I choose is the Japanese style. It's have 2 room inside, 1 bedroom and 1 the living room. I have to do my work go sleep late but it not disturb my family, they can sleep well. It's very near to the shopping center. Have family mart near here open 24 hour if that you need something in the night time. It's really worth it to stay here. Im recommendGuest review byKaewkwanThailand

Since I arrived before check in, they kept my luggage for me. The single room was a good size, and it even had a sitting area with a table. Room had a humidifier, hangers, fabric freshener, shoe brush. Power outlets near the bed. Water kettle, cups, glasses, refrigerator also available. Bottled water, towels, slippers, pajamas were provided. Loved my stay at Hotel Global View Niigata!Guest review byKhoniePhilippines
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 110 reviewsIt is one of the best ski resorts for beginner. The slope is a good challenge for newbies and the lift ticket is cheap and not crowded at all. I can get to snowboarding right in the back of the hotel. I would recommend it for families with elderly and kids. The dinner is included and it is very good and delicious.Guest review byNATTAKARNThailand

I've been extremely lucky, I was in Niigata after a snowstorm and I found an amazing scenery of beaches under a white carpet. The fisherman market is an experience you should not miss, delicious food and crazy cheap bill. Try to drive the coastline!Guest review byMastershifuChina - 10.0

we had a local guide who helped us booked some activities like Shoji door making, which we learned about shoji paper and how the paper on the doors are replaced. Kara no Toy Box by Package craft artist Kazuma Takahashi, is a very interesting experience! My kids enjoyed the workshop and they managed to make a deer out of used chocolate cardboard packaging, its very creative and good activity for rainy day, which is what we encountered.Guest review byAnonymousSingapore - 10.0

Surprisingly, although it is a small town, there are plenty of good restaurants and lots of outdoor activities. We could have spent a day just walking at Yuzawa Kogen region. Lovely onsen feel to the whole place. And if you miss the city, Niigata is just 40min by train (Tokyo station is just about 1.5 hours by shinkansen). There are several good restaurants and izakayas along the main street, and even at Echigo Yuzawa station, including an exquisite Italian Muran Gozzo cafe with house-made smoked salmon, pork terrine, wagyu carpaccio, seasonal wild vegetable pickles etc. The train station also has a foot bath, local produce market and supermarket. Of course the highland air is fresh and cool.Guest review byCelestialSingapore - 10.0

Myoko is an incredible region of fun, the mountains offer heaps of ski resorts with fantastic runs, lessons, places to dine and sit with a hot beverage or refreshen beer or sake. Its wonderful for both families and those who are daring to hit the slopes for thrills. The hotel shuttles, local buses and taxis make travel from resort to various slopes, very easy. The locals are exceptionally helpful and friendly.Guest review byBec DoyleAustralia - 10.0

Niigata is a lovely place with warm people but be prepared to travel by bus. To be more flexible make sure that you arrange a rental bike as this city doesn't have the subway lines you may be used to from Osaka or Tokyo.Guest review byEmanuelNetherlands - 8.0

It is a snow-season oriented location and in May there are not many people around. For us Yuzawa was the choice because of the car rental being available in the region were we wanted to explore. Nippon rent-a-car offers good deals.Guest review byTiinaEstonia - 10.0
The snow in Myoko is otherworldly.
The snow in Myoko is otherworldly. The powder is unimaginably great and really loved visiting Seki Onsen Ski Area. It's a small, family-owned ski area run by the Inoue Family who are the kindest and most hospitable people you'll find anywhere in Japan. Family-owned and run ski areas are in decline with large corporations buying up ski areas across Japan, so it was a real treat to ski at an area where the snow was perfect and you're supporting a local business. 10 our 10 for Seki Onsen Ski Area!Guest review byAaronUnited States - 10.0
Nigatta was a much slower pace. Feels like Sunday everyday.
Nigatta was a much slower pace. Feels like Sunday everyday. Chilled. It has fabulous restaurants and little local bars, great scenery. Definitely worth a visit for a few days. The bullet train ride from Tokyo to Niigata had lots of beautiful scenery along the way. So glad we decided to visit here on our third trip to Japan. Incredibly easy to get around with such an efficient bus service.Guest review bySamanthaAustralia - 8.0
Yuzawa is an excellent place for winter sports and onsen.
Yuzawa is an excellent place for winter sports and onsen. It's very easy to get to by public transport and quite affordable. It can, however, get quite crowded on weekend and holidays during peak season so we were glad to have gone a little further to Naeba. During peak times, however, it could be challenging to find a place to eat so you might need to book restaurants in advance to avoid disappointment!Guest review byTea45United Kingdom
