Very friendly and helpful staff. Our flight didn’t leave until 11pm, but they let us leave our luggage at the hotel until we went to the airport.

We stayed in the most exceptional room at the Hotel Indigo Shibuya. Beyond the incredible corner view of the Shibuya Scramble crossing, it was beautifully designed with all the necessities and then some tucked away in hidden drawers and pockets within the suite. The view spanned three floor to ceiling windows, offering us a view though to Tokyo midtown over Yoyogi Park and the Southeastern Ku of Tokyo. The bathroom suite was stunning, with a full-size bathtub, rain shower and hand shower - perfect for a relaxing spa bath experience after a long day of exploring the city and beyond. As the end cap to our ten day trip to Japan, this was the most special experience and we are immensely grateful to have had the opportunity to stay here.

This is the best Tokyo hotel I've ever stayed at! Clean and comfortable room, staff were friendly and accommodating, and multiple metro stations are within walking distance. The lounge is a comfortable place to hang out, eat, and do laundry. This hotel is close enough to the hustle and bustle of Akihabara, but in a peaceful neighborhood. I like that I could use YouTube on the TV! The view of the train tracks is stunning at night, and there was little to no noise. I will definitely come visit again!

Very close to the metro, so close to all the shops and there is a street right next to the hotel with food shops and everything. In the heart of the kitchen street, bought lots of ceramics. A don quijote near that is 24/7. Room is very clean

Great location, amazing view, very friendly staff. Room: amazing room, very clean, view lives up to itd expectation. Bathroom with view was amazing at night. The view was all windows was great, at night you can see rainbow bridge and all the other buildings lit beautiful. Location: located directly beside Toyosu station and the yurakucho and yurikamome lines. From there you can easily reach a lot of areas within ginza and odaiba. Breakfast: breakfast was good but I preferred the buffet dishes over the main dish (seafood option) There's also an airport limousine bus stop directly outside the hotel. So you can easily book a ride to get to the airport quick and hassle free!

KAIKA is an ART boutique hotel you must visit if you love art and design: the feeling is unique and special, also offering a very high value for money. The hotel is stunning, the service is great, the staff is kind and extremely polite. Rooms are big, clean and nicely decorated. Full of facilities are available including Wi-Fi. Great location in a quite residential area close to Asakusa neighborhood. Subway and many busses are close by to easily explore the city. Location - Away from the bustle of over-touristy (main) Shinjuku Conveniently located few steps away from Tokyo Metro (Shinjuku Gyoenmae station - Marounuchi Line - which goes to Tōkyō station - especially if you're arriving via Narita Express - no need to drop off from extremely confusing Shinjuku Station) Has quieter, neighborhood style restaurants and coffee shops; and a leisurely walk towards Shinjuku (via San-Cho-Me) - see shops, Isetan, two starbucks haha, local market, a Tsukiji-style restaurant as well Can stroll to nearby Shinjuku National Garden - extremely popular during autumn and Sakura seasons ----- Rooms This is a typical Japanese business hotel. DO NOT EXPECT a "decently sized" room. If you're booking for two persons and you've got big luggages - don't expect to have any more foot treading space left HAHAHAHA. Small bathroom, Japanese bidet toilet yes! Toothbrush, comb, shaver, towels - yes! Can also ask to clean room once a day ----- Onsen (Japanese style spa) - yes! Love it! -----

Tokyo was a whirlwind of neon lights, serene temples, and impeccable hospitality. The city blends tradition and innovation so seamlessly—one moment you're sipping matcha in a centuries-old teahouse, the next you're navigating a robot-run café in Shibuya. Public transport was a dream: clean, punctual, and easy to navigate even for a first-timer. The locals were incredibly polite and helpful, and the food? A revelation. From sushi counters to steaming bowls of ramen tucked into alleyways, every meal was a highlight. Whether you're chasing cherry blossoms or just craving a taste of hyper-modern city life, Tokyo delivers with style and grace.

    Love this neighbourhood.

Love this neighbourhood. I lived in Japan for several years, 2 decades ago, and I have gone back a few times for a visit. First time for me to be in Tachikawa. It has great vibe, a bit of hustle bustle, but not crowded and suffocating like Shinjuku or Shibuya. Lots of shops and cheap restaurants. Not touristy at all and you can observe locals doing their everyday business if that is your thing.

Fuchu was a wonderful town to stay in on the outskirts of Tokyo. It has a slower, more relaxed atmosphere than central tokyo. The people were friendly and there was plenty to do and see. The tree lined main street leading to the temple was beautiful. And there were some local parks that were nice to walk to.

Machida has everything you need for shopping plus the Odakyu Line into Shinjuku or the Yokohama Line into Yokohama if you need to hit the big time. Still comoared to most North American towns, Westerners will think Machida is HUUUUGE and super busy. For Kanto region I'd saw it's a hub for Kanagawa but manageable. Food choices at and around the station are excellent. Hotels are way cheaper than in central Tokyo yet you are only 30 to 60 mins on any train to wherever you need to go. Direct buses from Narita and Henda airports as well so no need to deal with hauling luggage on trains. Or just takyubin (courier) luggage to Mahcida from airport.

The island is lovely and has many outdoor activities. But you will likely need to rent a car to reach some of the more remote areas easily. There are buses and taxis, but you may have to wait quite a bit of time. Many of the restaurants will close during the afternoon and early evening, so be sure to have some snacks prepared or stay in a place with a kitchen.

Kichijoji is a great area in the western suburbs of Tokyo. We explored the beautiful Inokashira Park and other points further west such as Chofu and Koganei. We ate at a great izakaya that specialises in squid called Totomaro. There's plenty of shopping, including Don Quijote and Yuzawaya. Kichijoji is on the Chuo line which connects with Shinjuku and Tokyo stations. It's also really well serviced with buses.

I went to Tachikawa for a concert at Tachikawa Stage Garden and it was my very first time visiting there. Life in Tachikawa seems to be a bit more laid-back than central Tokyo even though it's a big city as well. Meaning, you get to enjoy the convience and entertainment of what big cities offer, but it's a bit less crowded and less chaotic. Showa Kinen National Park is a great place. I spent two afternoons there to clear my head and connect with nature. Highly recommend. I'll definately be back for the unexplored spots such as the art museums and many eateries.
