- From $243.10 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 6,091 reviewsLocation - Away from the bustle of over-touristy (main) Shinjuku Conveniently located few steps away from Tokyo Metro (Shinjuku Gyoenmae station - Marounuchi Line - which goes to Tōkyō station - especially if you're arriving via Narita Express - no need to drop off from extremely confusing Shinjuku Station) Has quieter, neighborhood style restaurants and coffee shops; and a leisurely walk towards Shinjuku (via San-Cho-Me) - see shops, Isetan, two starbucks haha, local market, a Tsukiji-style restaurant as well Can stroll to nearby Shinjuku National Garden - extremely popular during autumn and Sakura seasons ----- Rooms This is a typical Japanese business hotel. DO NOT EXPECT a "decently sized" room. If you're booking for two persons and you've got big luggages - don't expect to have any more foot treading space left HAHAHAHA. Small bathroom, Japanese bidet toilet yes! Toothbrush, comb, shaver, towels - yes! Can also ask to clean room once a day ----- Onsen (Japanese style spa) - yes! Love it! -----Guest review byFrancis AlbertSingapore

The people is the best of Tokyo. but it's very crowded.
The people is the best of Tokyo. but it's very crowded. Tourists are crazy about famous places. But it's really worth visiting. I highlight the cleanliness, security, taxi and Uber services, customer service and bathrooms. The Japanese have achieved perfection.Guest review byRegineBrazil - 10.0
Love this neighbourhood.
Love this neighbourhood. I lived in Japan for several years, 2 decades ago, and I have gone back a few times for a visit. First time for me to be in Tachikawa. It has great vibe, a bit of hustle bustle, but not crowded and suffocating like Shinjuku or Shibuya. Lots of shops and cheap restaurants. Not touristy at all and you can observe locals doing their everyday business if that is your thing.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Fuchu was a wonderful town to stay in on the outskirts of Tokyo. It has a slower, more relaxed atmosphere than central tokyo. The people were friendly and there was plenty to do and see. The tree lined main street leading to the temple was beautiful. And there were some local parks that were nice to walk to.Guest review bymitchUnited States - 10.0
The city is literally amazing.
The city is literally amazing. Everything you could want is right there in your hotel or walking distance. Great cafes, izakayas, shopping, exploring-literally everything. Not as busy as some areas in Tokyo, and I fell in love. Will be back soon.Guest review byChristopherUnited States - 10.0

Machida has everything you need for shopping plus the Odakyu Line into Shinjuku or the Yokohama Line into Yokohama if you need to hit the big time. Still comoared to most North American towns, Westerners will think Machida is HUUUUGE and super busy. For Kanto region I'd saw it's a hub for Kanagawa but manageable. Food choices at and around the station are excellent. Hotels are way cheaper than in central Tokyo yet you are only 30 to 60 mins on any train to wherever you need to go. Direct buses from Narita and Henda airports as well so no need to deal with hauling luggage on trains. Or just takyubin (courier) luggage to Mahcida from airport.Guest review byBDonutCanada - 8.0
The island is lovely and has many outdoor activities.
The island is lovely and has many outdoor activities. But you will likely need to rent a car to reach some of the more remote areas easily. There are buses and taxis, but you may have to wait quite a bit of time. Many of the restaurants will close during the afternoon and early evening, so be sure to have some snacks prepared or stay in a place with a kitchen.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Kichijoji is a great area in the western suburbs of Tokyo.
Kichijoji is a great area in the western suburbs of Tokyo. We explored the beautiful Inokashira Park and other points further west such as Chofu and Koganei. We ate at a great izakaya that specialises in squid called Totomaro. There's plenty of shopping, including Don Quijote and Yuzawaya. Kichijoji is on the Chuo line which connects with Shinjuku and Tokyo stations. It's also really well serviced with buses.Guest review byDeborahAustralia - 10.0

Tokyo was a whirlwind of neon lights, serene temples, and impeccable hospitality. The city blends tradition and innovation so seamlessly—one moment you're sipping matcha in a centuries-old teahouse, the next you're navigating a robot-run café in Shibuya. Public transport was a dream: clean, punctual, and easy to navigate even for a first-timer. The locals were incredibly polite and helpful, and the food? A revelation. From sushi counters to steaming bowls of ramen tucked into alleyways, every meal was a highlight. Whether you're chasing cherry blossoms or just craving a taste of hyper-modern city life, Tokyo delivers with style and grace.Guest review bySamantha CarrollAustralia - 10.0

I went to Tachikawa for a concert at Tachikawa Stage Garden and it was my very first time visiting there. Life in Tachikawa seems to be a bit more laid-back than central Tokyo even though it's a big city as well. Meaning, you get to enjoy the convience and entertainment of what big cities offer, but it's a bit less crowded and less chaotic. Showa Kinen National Park is a great place. I spent two afternoons there to clear my head and connect with nature. Highly recommend. I'll definately be back for the unexplored spots such as the art museums and many eateries.Guest review byPei HsuanUnited Kingdom
