- From $265.07 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 6,114 reviewsLocation - Away from the bustle of over-touristy (main) Shinjuku Conveniently located few steps away from Tokyo Metro (Shinjuku Gyoenmae station - Marounuchi Line - which goes to Tōkyō station - especially if you're arriving via Narita Express - no need to drop off from extremely confusing Shinjuku Station) Has quieter, neighborhood style restaurants and coffee shops; and a leisurely walk towards Shinjuku (via San-Cho-Me) - see shops, Isetan, two starbucks haha, local market, a Tsukiji-style restaurant as well Can stroll to nearby Shinjuku National Garden - extremely popular during autumn and Sakura seasons ----- Rooms This is a typical Japanese business hotel. DO NOT EXPECT a "decently sized" room. If you're booking for two persons and you've got big luggages - don't expect to have any more foot treading space left HAHAHAHA. Small bathroom, Japanese bidet toilet yes! Toothbrush, comb, shaver, towels - yes! Can also ask to clean room once a day ----- Onsen (Japanese style spa) - yes! Love it! -----Guest review byFrancis AlbertSingapore
- From $244.11 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.6Good - What previous guests thought, 6,894 reviewsDue to the central location in the heart of Shinjuku, APA hotel at Kabukichou tower was an excellent choice. Only a couple of minutes walk from the train station and with modestly sized rooms, you can quickly get into the city and start your journey in Japan without fussing with transportation or the need to look at Google maps much.If you are ever lost, just look up and find Kabukichou tower and you will find your hotel again. I highly recommend it!Guest review byVictorUnited States

I could have stayed in bed forever. I would definitely recommend it for anyone who struggles with sleep or who is simply extra worn out from carrying heavy luggage. 10/10Guest review byMiriamFrance

Tokyo is intense.
Tokyo is intense. It was the 4th country on our world trip, and the ads everywhere felt like a full-on assault on the eyeballs. We took the metro for everything, which is great… if you enjoy being thoroughly confused and slightly panicked at all times. After a week in Shanghai, where commuting was a breeze, this felt like navigating a video game on expert mode, but we got used to always being lost and somehow ending up exactly where we weren’t supposed to be. Shopping was best at Sunshine Mall...why waste time at stores I can visit at home? Food is amazing and cheap. The locals are incredibly nice… though English speakers are few, which kept things interesting. Overall, it’s chaotic, overwhelming, and kind of brilliant all at once. You need a Suica Card on your phone traveling on the metro without it is a nightmare. Non-Japanese credit cards aren’t accepted, and the app is in Japanese, so good luck following any instructions. I used a Wise digital card on my phone, which works like a Visa and is accepted by Suica. Here’s how we set it up: add the Wise card to your phone like any other visa, then add money to Suica after adding it under transit. Enable Express Mode on Suica so you can just tap your phone over the IC circle at the metro gate (on the back of the phone, not the front). A few stores in malls didn’t accept tap or our credit cards, but Suica worked perfectly. You can transfer up to 20,000 yen at a time from Wise to Suica (the maximum balance on Suica is 20,000 yen, so if you already have 100, you can only add 19,900 more). For larger purchases, just keep transferring money in batches until you cover the total. This method saved us countless headaches and made paying for transit and shopping much easier.Guest review byAnitaCanada - 10.0
Love this neighbourhood.
Love this neighbourhood. I lived in Japan for several years, 2 decades ago, and I have gone back a few times for a visit. First time for me to be in Tachikawa. It has great vibe, a bit of hustle bustle, but not crowded and suffocating like Shinjuku or Shibuya. Lots of shops and cheap restaurants. Not touristy at all and you can observe locals doing their everyday business if that is your thing.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Fuchu was a wonderful town to stay in on the outskirts of Tokyo. It has a slower, more relaxed atmosphere than central tokyo. The people were friendly and there was plenty to do and see. The tree lined main street leading to the temple was beautiful. And there were some local parks that were nice to walk to.Guest review bymitchUnited States - 10.0

Machida has everything you need for shopping plus the Odakyu Line into Shinjuku or the Yokohama Line into Yokohama if you need to hit the big time. Still comoared to most North American towns, Westerners will think Machida is HUUUUGE and super busy. For Kanto region I'd saw it's a hub for Kanagawa but manageable. Food choices at and around the station are excellent. Hotels are way cheaper than in central Tokyo yet you are only 30 to 60 mins on any train to wherever you need to go. Direct buses from Narita and Henda airports as well so no need to deal with hauling luggage on trains. Or just takyubin (courier) luggage to Mahcida from airport.Guest review byBDonutCanada - 10.0
The city is literally amazing.
The city is literally amazing. Everything you could want is right there in your hotel or walking distance. Great cafes, izakayas, shopping, exploring-literally everything. Not as busy as some areas in Tokyo, and I fell in love. Will be back soon.Guest review byChristopherUnited States - 8.0
The island is lovely and has many outdoor activities.
The island is lovely and has many outdoor activities. But you will likely need to rent a car to reach some of the more remote areas easily. There are buses and taxis, but you may have to wait quite a bit of time. Many of the restaurants will close during the afternoon and early evening, so be sure to have some snacks prepared or stay in a place with a kitchen.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Kichijoji is a great area in the western suburbs of Tokyo.
Kichijoji is a great area in the western suburbs of Tokyo. We explored the beautiful Inokashira Park and other points further west such as Chofu and Koganei. We ate at a great izakaya that specialises in squid called Totomaro. There's plenty of shopping, including Don Quijote and Yuzawaya. Kichijoji is on the Chuo line which connects with Shinjuku and Tokyo stations. It's also really well serviced with buses.Guest review byDeborahAustralia - 10.0

Japanese people are incredible nice...even neither language is a barrier for them to make people happy and help. I got in many different cities different situations and all of them whenever I need where to go they will come with me to show me the way. BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE. Beautiful Country!!! Must see!!! I started as soon I got Tokyo , from the airport. And the same great experience in all cities I went. Thank you Japan for having great me.Guest review byBlancaUnited States - 10.0

I went to Tachikawa for a concert at Tachikawa Stage Garden and it was my very first time visiting there. Life in Tachikawa seems to be a bit more laid-back than central Tokyo even though it's a big city as well. Meaning, you get to enjoy the convience and entertainment of what big cities offer, but it's a bit less crowded and less chaotic. Showa Kinen National Park is a great place. I spent two afternoons there to clear my head and connect with nature. Highly recommend. I'll definately be back for the unexplored spots such as the art museums and many eateries.Guest review byPei HsuanUnited Kingdom
