Although they disappointed me at first because they canceled my reservation without prior warning due to a mixup with my bank I must say the staff were incredibly helpI don’t think it was because of the misunderstanding I think that this is their way. Total pros to make you relax and fly next day. Also the shuttle bus

I had to extend the trip but also changed the type of beds in the room, due to an additional person joining after initial booking. The person on the phone was able to help me adjust my 2 separate bookings to connect to the same type. Location is convenient. The rooms are very new and clean. Delivery service by the robot is very ingenious as well.

Everything is very clean. The staff was very helpful (they even helped us with luggage delivery service). They gave us a free upgrade, and our new room had an awesome view of Tokyo Sky Tree. Most of the staff at the reception spoke English. They are very welcoming and helpful. The room was spacious for a family of 4. The kids loved their bunk beds. I liked the layout of the room and having the mini kitchen and dining area was great. The entire place was clean, they changed towels everyday but the sheets was only changed on our 4th day. They had complete amenities and you can borrow stuff such us oven toaster, speakers, etc. It was walking distance to Kinsichio train station and the other subway. Close to Parco mall where you can do some grocery, Muji store and KFC.

The rooms were of high quality, I can't really say something critical about it. The view from the 18th floor was breathtaking! The breakfast was not included, we payed it in the morning. The location is amazing. It's really close to the station, and most of the part is covered so it was easy to get to with a suitcase on a rainy day. The area has heaps of non-touristy Izakaya and shops too. I also enjoyed the public bath ( for guests only) upstairs.

It was easy to get around - by foot, train, and ubers/taxis. Some activities include walking around the city, and getting to the malls. There are a number of spas around the area, which were good for relaxation. Restaurants are within walking distance -with great menus - from beef to seafood - everything was absolutely delicious!!

    Love this neighbourhood.

Love this neighbourhood. I lived in Japan for several years, 2 decades ago, and I have gone back a few times for a visit. First time for me to be in Tachikawa. It has great vibe, a bit of hustle bustle, but not crowded and suffocating like Shinjuku or Shibuya. Lots of shops and cheap restaurants. Not touristy at all and you can observe locals doing their everyday business if that is your thing.

Fuchu was a wonderful town to stay in on the outskirts of Tokyo. It has a slower, more relaxed atmosphere than central tokyo. The people were friendly and there was plenty to do and see. The tree lined main street leading to the temple was beautiful. And there were some local parks that were nice to walk to.

Machida has everything you need for shopping plus the Odakyu Line into Shinjuku or the Yokohama Line into Yokohama if you need to hit the big time. Still comoared to most North American towns, Westerners will think Machida is HUUUUGE and super busy. For Kanto region I'd saw it's a hub for Kanagawa but manageable. Food choices at and around the station are excellent. Hotels are way cheaper than in central Tokyo yet you are only 30 to 60 mins on any train to wherever you need to go. Direct buses from Narita and Henda airports as well so no need to deal with hauling luggage on trains. Or just takyubin (courier) luggage to Mahcida from airport.

The island is lovely and has many outdoor activities. But you will likely need to rent a car to reach some of the more remote areas easily. There are buses and taxis, but you may have to wait quite a bit of time. Many of the restaurants will close during the afternoon and early evening, so be sure to have some snacks prepared or stay in a place with a kitchen.

Kichijoji is a great area in the western suburbs of Tokyo.

Kichijoji is a great area in the western suburbs of Tokyo. We explored the beautiful Inokashira Park and other points further west such as Chofu and Koganei. We ate at a great izakaya that specialises in squid called Totomaro. There's plenty of shopping, including Don Quijote and Yuzawaya. Kichijoji is on the Chuo line which connects with Shinjuku and Tokyo stations. It's also really well serviced with buses.

We stayed just short of 3 weeks and we went in the thick of summer. I would come in a cooler month due the amount of walking you do coupled with the amount of people. Access to anything is so easy - airports, trains, other transport but we did struggle a few times to get a cab/grab so we just ended up finding an alternative option. Food is incredible and easy to find. Entertainment and sights are also incredible and easy to find. People are lovely everywhere and so is the culture.

I went to Tachikawa for a concert at Tachikawa Stage Garden and it was my very first time visiting there. Life in Tachikawa seems to be a bit more laid-back than central Tokyo even though it's a big city as well. Meaning, you get to enjoy the convience and entertainment of what big cities offer, but it's a bit less crowded and less chaotic. Showa Kinen National Park is a great place. I spent two afternoons there to clear my head and connect with nature. Highly recommend. I'll definately be back for the unexplored spots such as the art museums and many eateries.
