Absolute peace and quiet. Right on the ocean shore; wonderful, warm, welcoming staff. A great getaway to recharge - perfect 'vtamin sea'. Beautiful sunrise, amazing food, excellent accommodation. It's also lovely to see that the lodge has thought about sustainability, such as solar power, reverse osmosis, reclaimed materials, locally sourced food etc. I can't wait to go back. 💕

Great experience! It is nice to find such an oasis of peace and excellent service in Africa. Those who write that this is not a hotel, but a home, are right. The waiter will ask when you would like dinner and let you know when your meal is ready. They will bring you a towel if they see you swimming in the pool. Yes, the pool is not big, but you can swim in it alone. Or as a couple :) We suggested to the host to classify the villa as "Adults Only" because it is obvious that couples like this place. So - if you are looking for silence, peace and comfort on Diani beach - choose Searenity beach villa. Or at least visit their excellent restaurant for lunch or dinner - you will be pleasantly surprised.

The outdoors has never felt quite this homely. Stefano Pelloni and his wonderful family set out to create a resort centered on "oneness with nature," and they have truly delivered. Every inch of the property is meticulously curated to maintain a heavenly vibe that follows you wherever you go. The lodges offer a beautiful "traditional homestead" feel, but the Bush Bubble Lodge was the highlight for me. It provides such a deep sense of seclusion that while chilling inside, I completely forgot I was in a shared resort. The setup is incredible: outdoor furniture, ambient path lighting, a hammock swing, a catamaran net, and even an outside shower. Inside the bubble, you’ll find a sitting room, bedroom, and full amenities. It’s the kind of place you visit and never want to leave. I could honestly write a book about it, but I’ll let my top highlights speak for themselves. My Top 12 Highlights 1. Genuine Hospitality: From the owners to the staff, everyone is cordial and professional. You feel welcomed in every single interaction. 2. Room Service: They offer complimentary room service (having breakfast delivered to your lodge upon request). 3. The LichtHaus Access: Enjoy free boat rides to and from LichtHaus throughout the day. 4. Evening Bonfires: Perfectly placed bonfire spots are lit every evening. 5. Pool & Jacuzzi: A beautiful swimming pool with an adjoining jacuzzi for ultimate relaxation. 6. The Bubble Spa: The private bathtub/spa setup within the Bush Bubble is a dream. 7. The Jungle Gym: This felt like a real-life extension of The Flintstones! It’s incredibly unique; I’ve never seen anything like it. 8. Hammocks Everywhere: They are scattered throughout the bar, pool, and gym (you’re never far from a place to lounge). 9. Poolside Swings: As a "bouncing baby girl" at heart, I absolutely loved these. 10. Dining: The Red Lobster and Calamari dishes at the restaurant are standout meals. 11.

If you've never been to Lamu bear in mind that it is an island, relatively far from Kenya's main infrastructure. The good news is that there is a lovely airport and most of the hotels and houses will arrange passage on a boat from the airport, which sits on an island opposite. If you're a sensitive creature or an American unused to places that are not suburbs then Lamu may be a bit much for you. You walk everywhere, unless you take a boat. The island brims with history, being one of the centers of Swahili culture, with close ties to Oman and India. You can disregard the usual standard hysterical State Department warnings about Lamu. If something bad happens there, it could happen anywhere in Kenya, and Kenya is much safer than most State bulletins make out. Walk the Old Town. Chat with people. Don't get annoyed by the people trying to offer tours and such. Say no politely and they melt away. If they try again say, hapana (NO in Swahili), and smile. Eat the meat samosas, fish and lobster. Those are the mainstays of local food. Lamu House, where we stayed, had very nice breakfasts with surprisingly good coffee! I'd go for a week or two for your first time. Do keep in mind that there are two Lamus-- the UNESCO World Heritage town and the resorts on various islands. I don't know anything about the resorts except Peponi Hotel. It's at the far end of the island, about a 10-15 minute boat ride from the Old Town. Go to the main restaurant by boat one evening. Enjoy the glorious sight of the island slipping by and the vast Indian Ocean sky overhead. Order the most fabulous chicken biriyani you will EVER eat. It's also a very attractive hotel.

Diani Beach is awesome. Great beaches, good food. Transport readily available - be prepared to negotiate and try not to get ripped off. I've been there several times. I've stayed at "Diamonds", "Baobab", "The Blue Water", and "Jo Baobab's apartments". I liked Jo's apartments as they were 5 minute from beach with security, parking, spacious, well maintained, fully equipped, and significantly cheaper than the hotels on the beach - by at least 50%. On the beach I hung out at the Blue Marlin for the beach/bar/restaurant on the beach vibe.

If you haven't visited Diani beaches then you're missing...

If you haven't visited Diani beaches then you're missing something. Diani beach has the most best and amazing beautiful white sand beaches in the world. One thing you should be prepared when are visiting Diani Kenya for the first time. Kindly get an uber, Bolt or tax to move around. If you're used to zebra crossing 😂😂😂 just forget you don't want to be knocked down, nobody follows traffic rules here, its God for us all everyone for themselves. I am a Kenyan born and raised here and i was abit afraid to use public transport having been out of the country for along time. The buses and matatus speed is crazy hell,I had to use my sister's car to take us around. Another thing be informed due to inflation, things are abit expensive so be prepared. Otherwise Kenya is an amazing place, beautiful, kind people and peaceful. Last but not least. If you are planning your trip towards next year, remember it will be elections campaign time so the political temperaturë may not be favourable if its your first time. Avoid 2027 during election time, talking from experience. Above all Kenya is a great country,East or West home is the best😅
