Surrounded by peaceful greenery, Bird of Paradise Bungalows offers well-appointed Khmer timber and brick bungalows for accommodation. Absolutely loved this place! We stayed in a brick bungalow which was gorgeous. So so clean, spacious and really nice little things such as tea and coffee supplies and fresh bottles of water everyday. The staff are so lovely, the English man who owns it was so helpful for us. Nice walk down to the crab market which only takes 5 minutes, lovely places to eat there. Really cannot fault these bungalows, such good value for money, totally recommend!

Hide yourself away from the world in an exotic jungle setting, with all the amenities and comforts you need. Thank you to the hosts who were so friendly and took so much trouble to make us feel at home, without invading our privacy. As with other reviewers, we too extended our stay twice, and were very reluctant to leave at the end.

Kep is a very pleasant place. Small enough to just cycle round with a fascinating crab market at one end - but take time to go right along the sea front. There is a good beach, an array of hammocks and the main boulevard is lovely. Clearly a town that is trying to recapture some of its old grandeur - sadly many of the older properties remain but were damaged severely in the past. The Kep National Park is interesting, but you will need some small cash to pay the entrance fee. We cycled from the hotel around the town.
Kep itself is very quiet, with hotels quite widely spaced. The town has 3 or 4 big attractions - the crab market is just that, but really interesting for an hour; the ruined French villas are well worth a photo; Kep National Park (just behind the town) is great for a trek in the jungle (good for sunrise apparently) and Rabbit Island, 30 mins by boat, is a great beach with a friendly vibe
Kep National Park: big trees, nice paths through the jungle. Nice views! Butterfly farm: beautiful to see them close. Besides the old ruins of french villa's, every thing is well maintained. The national park has been cleaned from plastic and other garbage. Also the town looks very clean.
Crab market is a must see with great grilled seafood. A walk around Kep national park was a wonderful afternoon. Because we were so far from everything we took tuk tuks everywhere. 2-3 dollars for a ride. We recommend looking for accommodation near kep beach.
We really enjoyed Kep. The beach was great in the week when it was quieter, lovely early in the morning for a swim. White sand and clean. Busier with Cambodians at the weekend. Enjoyed eating at Barraka and La Mouette at the crab market, the Deli just past the sailing club on the main road is good for coffee. We found the sailing club a little pretentious and too big for its boots; food expensive and just okay, but good location for happy hour cocktail - happy hr there is only Mon-Thurs. We took the day boat to Rabbit island but were disappointed. Sound of diggers from one beach and other beach crowded. Little choice for food and of poor quality. We much preferred Kep beach, no need to waste money on going to the island. The trip wasn't worth it for us. Walks and the appearance of wild monkeys in Kep National Park make it worth exploring. The sunsets in Kep were stunning.
The rustic feel of the place. Exploring the old colonial ruins, the neighbouring sights like Kampong Trach cave, the pepper plantation, the secret lake, Kep National Park. The sunsets were gorgeous!
The circuit hike through Kep National Park is fairly easy going and you get great views from Sunset Rock. Kep Beach is nice to sit at but the sea has a few bits of litter in it and the water is warmer than the outside air so not refreshing! You can find good, cheap food at the beach (look for the place that does tacos and pick from their Khmer menu items!), the restaurants at the Crab Market are a little pricier but great food, or you can buy cheap off the market grills (my friends got 1kg of crab for $2 that literally had just come out of the sea). There is a tour to a Kampot pepper farm which I didn't find out about until we were leaving, which is a shame as it sounded great.
We loved the Crab market and all the crab shack restaurants. The Kep National Park was a fantastic place to take a trek. We saw wonderful butterflies of many colours and sizes, lizards and Macaque monkeys The amount of polystyrene and plastic litter around the fish market was upsetting.
Kep in a tiny town, good for a short stop, and 30 minutes from Kampot. We had some great meals at restaurants near the Crab market, the speciality is Kampot pepper Crab and other sea foods. Kep is much cleaner than the rest of Cambodia, if you rent a bike you can see all the fields surrounding kep national park litter free, it's beautiful.
It's a tiny city but has charming. I had a nice walk at the Kep National Park. Unfortunately I wasn't able to visit Rabbit island cause weather condition.

Nice location, cool place, maybe 30 min walking to crab market and good local restaurant (before roundabout), room was clean and nice, personel helpful with info and booking our bus to next destination. I dont regret we didnt stay closer to the city -it is easy accesably with a bike and the gate to kep national park is very very close. Honestly for paying 5$ per night i wouldnt expect anything more!!! (and big smile for cleaningness)

Chris and his staff were very friendly. They were very patient and thorough helping us to plan our trip in Kep. We had a most adventurous short hike into the Kep National Park, via the short cut route not far from the property. The sitting lounge at the reception area is excellent for interaction with fellow guests. The hot shower unit is good. We were able to explore the beach, and nearby country side by our rented motorbike.

Brilliant oasis of a property, with a saltwater pool, and lush grounds. Wonderful breakfasts with home made passion fruit jam, local honey and some of the best baguetts we had in Cambodia. The Manager, Rasty, and staff, especially Saran, were very welcoming and helpful with providing local information and accommodating any request we had. Located right next to Kep National Park, perfect for hiking.

It has the Wow factor - I was upgraded to a better view on arrival and my bungalow was amazing - traditional style with a balcony and view which were wonderful overlooking the jungle and sea - directly behind the hotel was the Kep National Park path and a 15 min walk to the beach - the eco pool was so clean and refreshing
