Rifai, the owner of the hotel is incredibly kind and accommodating. He went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. I truly appreciated his hospitality, and desire to help: find a surf-instructor, book a bus, etc. The breakfasts were really delicious. The service was exceptional and I cannot say often enough how friendly and helpful all the staff are. We had a lovely time, the staff went out of their way to fulfill our kids wishes, from printing out colouring sheets at reception to letting them bake a cake with the chef or mix a drink behind the bar. This is definately not a reflection on Sri Lankan culture, however the beach town is slow and quiet (realtively speaking) and there are plenty of shops and restaurants.
