Came here with my girlfriend for a relaxing vibe and it was absolutely amazing. We were the only ones there the whole time so every time we ate food it was like we had a private chef with amazing food. Pool was super clean and staff were amazing. Really good AC in rooms and bathroom was spectacular with bathtub. Only three main villas on main property so it’s very chill place. If your looking to relax for a day or 2 100 percent recommend. 100 percent worth the money. They even got me a taxi to my next spot

Brand new rooms above a small restaurant. Welcoming and kind host family. Strong AC and beautiful view from the balcony. Be aware there is no hot water, but as we learned, this is fairly common in Sri Lanka. It’s on the main road, so there is some traffic noise, but it didn’t bother us. Dinner is also available with notice to the family.

The staff was exceptionally kind and helpful. The food was great. They make the best safari tours and we felt that they are much better than the other operators. The vehicles are perfect for photographers and wildlife lovers and the guides are very knowledgeable and will do the impossible so you don't miss your chance at seeing leopards, bears and elephants. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The owner/ staff were absolutely lovely — they helped to arrange a tuktuk driver to bring us around the city at a decent price (shoutout to Pala) and helped book a safari tour too. At an additional cost, we also had a delicious breakfast spread.

Yaluwa Tourist Rest and Cookery is just about the sweetest place on earth to relax. It is a small and friendly family run establishment with just a few rooms located in a lush garden setting. My room was palacial with a comfortable king bed, mini refrigerator, bottled drinking water and stylish bathroom. Everything was clean and fresh, including the AC. They have a lovely garden nook where I was treated to complete and tasty breakfasts. The place is run by an adorable couple, Supun and Chaya, who were just the best! They helped me figure out what to do and how to do it in the 3 days I spent in Anuradhapura. For a small fee I rented a bicycle from Supun and Chaya and took a leisurely ride around the countryside. Highly recommended!! I also took Chaya’s cookery class which was a ton of fun. You will learn to make 7 Sri Lankan dishes using ingredients that are readily available outside of Sri Lanka. Take notes! And be prepared for a filling meal afterwards, so book in the afternoon and come hungry. Of note: you do not need to stay at Yaluwa to take the cookery class. Just contact Chaya to set up a time. Like many small hotels and home stays in Anuradhapura, Yaluwa Tourist Rest and Cookery is located a few km out from the center of town on a small, quiet road. I used a bicycle one day and a tuk tuk the next to visit various ruins and get around town. Yaluwa will arrange a tuk tuk for you if you want to explore the ruins that way. The hospitality and kindness at Yaluwa Tourist Rest and Cookery was outstanding. A fantastic value that I highly recommend!

This is our second visit to the Heritage Hotel In Anuradhapura, as we getting to the lobby Mr. Sumith came and recognized us and gave us a warm welcome, from that time until we leave he personally took care of us, I should say he is an asset to the hotel, then miss Thlini at front , she was arranging the Kiripindu Dana for us and always helped us with a charming smile. The restaurant staff , chefs every one is giving us a professional service, the food was excellent with lots of verities to select. Room was very clean and perfect. Very calm and quiet place to stay after traveling a long distance from Colombo. The hotel surrounding is in environmentally friendly location. Very conveniently located to go to all the important Dagabas In Anuradhapura. Without any hesitation I can recommend this hotel to anyone who wants visit Anuradhapura . Finally I want to thank specially to Mr. Wijesinghe and his great staff for making our stay memorable, and I promised Mr. Wijesinghe that we are coming back when ever we go on vacation to Sri Lanka.

The Vacation we had in RAJARATA HOTEL - ANURADHAPURA is superb, This was my second stay there and it was great again - I visited Rajarata Hotel with My Family -They loved it too. Beds were comfortable, Rooms and bathrooms were superb clean - Room Services and Reception Staff was very good - For my father's birthday i told the hotel i want to give him a surprise and they arranged it so well - WOW ... Great support. Thank you for your service so much - Must say I ordered lunch from their Alar Cart Menu and they had great varieties where food were tasty and restaurant staff was so helpful and respectful. Had breakfast Buffet - It was superb with some good Varieties to select - Thanks again -Loved our stay at Rajarata Hotel & Will come again for sure.

What made our stay really memorable is the staff, from front desk agents, to waiters at the restaurants, to the guys driving us around with buggies, to people servicing our room. They have been amazingly kind and hospitable with us. It is difficult to pick one in particular, but if we have to name one we would say Kusal, who on our last day came especially to pick us from the lake and drove us back to the reception. Not only he gave us a small tour but also told us lots of interesting facts about the fishermen and the animals living in the area around the lak

We had the absolute best stay at Mutu Village. My husband and I stayed 2 nights in the Pearl of The Jungle private tree house on the property. Sameera and his staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating. We enjoyed 2 dinners and breakfast each morning- the food was absolutely wonderful… would highly recommend for this alone. Our treehouse was quiet and extremely comfortable. The open air bathroom was nice and clean. We would live at the Mutu village if we could!

During my stay, the property owner made several inappropriate and judgmental comments about my affordability and my decision to share meals with my mother, who is disabled. His behaviour was rude and discriminatory. After I posted my review describing my disappointment, the owner contacted me directly on my personal mobile number using very abusive and offensive language. This message was completely unacceptable and made me feel unsafe.

Anuradhapura is an amazing and spiritual place.

Anuradhapura is an amazing and spiritual place. It's different from the other sites in Sri Lanka because it still attracts so many pilgrims to its religious sites. It's a good idea to dedicate one day to visiting the active pilgrimage sites and the next to the historical sites, for which you need a ticket. Remember to cover up with long trousers and sleeves and don't forget your socks, because the ground is really hot and you have to take off your shoes everywhere. If you have an extra day, you can also return to the sites at night, which is when pilgrims light candles. Make sure you've got the Pick Me app installed and look out for a tuk tuk driver called Nisha. He's absolutely amazing: great driver, kind and attentive and with good English. For dinner, the atmospheric Hotel Shalini is a good bet. The Seedevi family restaurant is another good place. If you want to have a beer, they can put you in a separate 'family' room, or you can go to the tiny 'pub' next door.
