- From $210.60 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 160 reviewsThe Hotel is housed in a newly constructed 3 story purpose build building. To reach the hotel you have to drive on a road through Galway Forest. On reaching the hotel the hotel offered me welcome complimentary Pumpkin soup with some snack. There is no lift in the hotel but I requested for a high floor to enjoy the beautiful view from my room window. I opted for a room having windows on both sides. On one side view there was tea plantation on the other side there was mountain view. The room itself was very spacious with very nice bath room. The hotel lobby is nice and there is a billiard room on 1st floor. Before dinner the hotel offered us complimentary Papaya Juice in the hotel garden. I booked the hotel half board. The dinner offered was so delicious that I can call it the best food which I ate in Sri Lanka. It was severed in the most professional manner in different courses, having some starter, soup, salad, main course and fruit/sweet dish. Beds were very comfortable. Morning breakfast was also very good. The hotel garden is very beautiful we took many good photographs as our memory. I can safely recommend the hotel to all. Last but not the least, the hotel staff was very courteous and helpful. they guided me about the place very well.Guest review byzafar KhurshidPakistan
- From $92.13 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.5Good - What previous guests thought, 126 reviewsWe had a wonderful experience at Hotel Glendower. From the start, the staff made us feel at home, especially Demunda, the concierge, who went above and beyond to help us throughout our stay. Demunda and the team were incredibly kind and attentive—they helped us communicate with a local car rental company, which made things so much easier. They also arranged amazing outings for us, including a tour of nearby tea plantations, a beautiful waterfall hike, and even a chance to go horse riding. One of the highlights was the Sri Lankan breakfast, which they cooked specially for us. It was absolutely delicious and made with such care—it really added a personal touch to our stay. Overall, the service was genuine and thoughtful. We’re so grateful for everything the staff did to make our visit special. Would definitely recommend Hotel Glendower to anyone visiting the area.Guest review byAnastaciaUnited States
- From $113 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 220 reviewsWe were out of words when we saw the first view of The firs as we drove through the drive way at night. We stayed at The firs for our honeymoon, so the very first days as a couple it was the best place for us. The room, the facilities and the nature, the hospitality by the staff I didn't hear the word NO for whatever I asked. Special regards to the cook who cooked delicious food we had sumptuous food it was tasty and hygienic also. It was home away from home. Next time i will visit and exclusively stay here with my whole family and enjoy the ambience. Special thanks to the manager Sudarshan and hats of the to all the staff who were very cordial and customer friendly, they made our days better.Guest review byMadaraSri Lanka
- From $77 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very Good - What previous guests thought, 147 reviewsWe had just finished a day at Ramboda Falls and were looking for a place to stay overnight to avoid driving further. By chance, we stumbled upon this hotel, and it turned out to be far beyond our expectations! The view from the hotel and our room was absolutely extraordinary – truly breathtaking. It felt like we were surrounded by nature's beauty in every direction. To top it off, the dinner was one of the best meals I’ve ever had in Sri Lanka. The flavors, presentation, and attention to detail were impeccable. If you’re in this area, I can’t recommend this hotel enough. It’s an experience you don’t want to miss!Guest review bySaba GharibzadeGermany

Besides doing the incredibly beautiful hike to Adams Peak, you can hire a tuktuk driver to guide you to Morey's Waterfall. the best waterfall we got to hike to in Sri lanka, challenging 1 hour hike but you'll get to stroll thru lush tea plantations and walk along side Lake Morey.Guest review byRobertson - 8.0

If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local experience, NanuOya is a good town to visit. It’s very close to the main tourist town Nuwara Eliya (approx 9km away) and has buses heading there every 20mins. You can also get there by train. The locals are very helpful and kind. You get a few places to eat food like South Indian dishes and koththu and a few places to buy liquor from. There are two waterfalls and the larger, wider one located inside the Glassough tea estate is a place where you can bathe in on a sunny day. It’s a lovely little town surrounded by tea estates!Guest review byLakshikaSri Lanka - 8.0

Maskeliya is a market town which could be lot more .The hilly terrain is a planners dream. I imagine the buildings painted pastal pink and yellow, flower pots hanging from the eves, it could be a destination rather than a quick stop to buy supplies on the way to elsewhere as is now.Guest review byVindhyaSri Lanka - 10.0

The location is off-the-beaten track a bit if that’s what you like. Personally coming from England I didn’t need to see Nuwara Elyia (little England), little point when I live in England! I enjoyed being in the middle of nowhere and in a peaceful environment before hitting the city of Kandy.Guest review byFabio116United Kingdom - 8.0
Nuwara Eliya’s weather is quite different from most of Sri...
Nuwara Eliya’s weather is quite different from most of Sri Lanka due to its high elevation. Unlike the tropical heat in the lowlands, it has a cool, misty, and unpredictable climate. Temperatures can drop below 10°C at night, and rain showers are common even during sunny days. Before traveling, it’s best to: Check the weather forecast for rain, fog, or sudden temperature drops. Pack warm clothing, as evenings and mornings can be chilly. Carry an umbrella or light raincoat, since showers are frequent. Plan outdoor activities (like visiting tea estates, Horton Plains, or Gregory Lake) for clearer parts of the day. “We visited on rainy days, which made it impossible to see the main attractions, as most of the time it was foggy.”Guest review byAsangaUnited Arab Emirates - 10.0

Do not climb on Saturdays as you will most probably not be able to reach the top. It was over-crowded and the path is narrow the last 500 meters. Got stuck in one spot for 45 minutes and decided to turn around. Still got amazing views though and the experience of local pilgrimage which was a privilege!Guest review byValentineSwitzerland
