This hotel was absolutely wonderful, and what truly made it special was the incredible staff. They went above and beyond to take such great care of us.     Gazing afar from a foggy morning, hill club is like a beautiful myserious garden worth to explore, while inside it keeps the colonial traditions. It was my best choice for the whole trip to Sri Lanka. Upon arrival, you will have a guided tour by one of the oldest employee telling the stories and history of this legacy from the 1800's. It boasts a well-manicured front lawn, a billiards room, and a library adorned with leather-bound volumes, showcasing the interests and pastimes of previous members. And they have the best reception team ever! Hello to the gentlemen who just came back to hometown from the middle-east. I wish you the most prosperous future with The Hill Club. In addition, I lost my pair of wedges while rushing for checking out. I got them back in the second day! They sent them over through the bus that commute in between Nuwara Eliya and Colombo making sure I will get them before my international departure , which the mail system wont' work at all. Millions of thanks again!! I will definately go back and visit The Hill Club again. Best, Junjun

    We had a wonderful experience at Hotel Glendower. From the start, the staff made us feel at home, especially Demunda, the concierge, who went above and beyond to help us throughout our stay. Demunda and the team were incredibly kind and attentive—they helped us communicate with a local car rental company, which made things so much easier. They also arranged amazing outings for us, including a tour of nearby tea plantations, a beautiful waterfall hike, and even a chance to go horse riding. One of the highlights was the Sri Lankan breakfast, which they cooked specially for us. It was absolutely delicious and made with such care—it really added a personal touch to our stay. Overall, the service was genuine and thoughtful. We’re so grateful for everything the staff did to make our visit special. Would definitely recommend Hotel Glendower to anyone visiting the area.

    We had just finished a day at Ramboda Falls and were looking for a place to stay overnight to avoid driving further. By chance, we stumbled upon this hotel, and it turned out to be far beyond our expectations! The view from the hotel and our room was absolutely extraordinary – truly breathtaking. It felt like we were surrounded by nature's beauty in every direction. To top it off, the dinner was one of the best meals I’ve ever had in Sri Lanka. The flavors, presentation, and attention to detail were impeccable. If you’re in this area, I can’t recommend this hotel enough. It’s an experience you don’t want to miss!

    Besides doing the incredibly beautiful hike to Adams Peak, you can hire a tuktuk driver to guide you to Morey's Waterfall. the best waterfall we got to hike to in Sri lanka, challenging 1 hour hike but you'll get to stroll thru lush tea plantations and walk along side Lake Morey.

    Maskeliya is a market town which could be lot more .The hilly terrain is a planners dream. I imagine the buildings painted pastal pink and yellow, flower pots hanging from the eves, it could be a destination rather than a quick stop to buy supplies on the way to elsewhere as is now.

    It is an extremely beautiful place esp. with valley, lake view. There are bunch of stay options and a small waterfall as well(atleast during my visit it seemed small). From spiritual aspect, there is Shree Hanuman temple with majestic statue of Shree Hanuman. This campus is excellently managed by Chinmaya mission with beautiful landscaping and peaceful environment. It also has a pure veg restaurant Annapoorni which has limited menu but fresh and good taste.

    If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local experience, NanuOya is a good town to visit. It’s very close to the main tourist town Nuwara Eliya (approx 9km away) and has buses heading there every 20mins. You can also get there by train. The locals are very helpful and kind. You get a few places to eat food like South Indian dishes and koththu and a few places to buy liquor from. There are two waterfalls and the larger, wider one located inside the Glassough tea estate is a place where you can bathe in on a sunny day. It’s a lovely little town surrounded by tea estates!

    Do not climb on Saturdays as you will most probably not be able to reach the top. It was over-crowded and the path is narrow the last 500 meters. Got stuck in one spot for 45 minutes and decided to turn around. Still got amazing views though and the experience of local pilgrimage which was a privilege!
