Exceptional facilities and amazing 5 star staff for low price. The hotel manager and his wife as well as the rest of the personnel have been exceptionally kind to us during our day. I arrived sick and they kindly brought me to the doctor, made me rice porridge and juice to recover. We ended up staying one night more and arranged us to stay in the same room. I got a bit better the day after and was able to do the elephant safari that the manager kindly organized for us. Finally he arranged a car to ella at a good price as well. The room was very clean and well furnished, the pool was clean and new and we could see a bunch of animals in the trees nearby. The food cooked was also delicious. Would definitely recommend you to stay there !!!

I’ve been in Sri Lanka for 4 weeks and stayed at more than a dozen places. This one I will never forget. When I first saw the ad, I thought it looked too good to be true. But since there was a special price for the opening, I thought I’d give it a try. I could not be happier with the choice. I've had an unforgettable experience. This place is absolutely fantastic! To help future guests, I will try to provide as much detail as I can in BOTH columns: The cottage only opened in February 2024, so everything is brand new. Unlike in other places, you actually get what you see in the pictures. Everything about this place is very well thought-through and built in a way such as to allow for a most pleasant stay: The cottage is located very quietly in the middle of nature but still close enough to town (5 min by tuktuk). It has an outdoor terrace with two regular and one swing chair offering a lovely view over the garden. The bedroom is beautifully designed and very spacious. The wardrobe and dresser offer plenty of space to store luggage openly and easily accessible. The beds are very comfortable and the mattrasses have standard European/US length (I mention this because sometimes in Sri Lanka, the mattrasses are shorter so that your feet stick out at the end). The A/C is very powerful and there are no smells (which sometimes happens with older models). It cools down the entire room very evenly. There are multiple electrical outlets which all types of sockets (even USB slots). There are light switches for every single lamp which allows you to set the lighting in just the way you prefer. Worth mentioning here too is the warm temperature of the light. The WiFi is reliable and sufficiently strong for browsing, streaming, and video calls.

This place was absolutely amazing! The location couldn’t have been better. Right by the Safari entrance, and within minutes of arriving, we saw an elephant just across the road. It was such a cool experience. The facilities were top-notch and really well maintained. The pool was actually the perfect temperature, which is rare for hotels since they’re usually too cold. There’s also a restaurant on-site with a great selection of food. We highly recommend the Kothu! Plus, there’s a convenience store right next door in case you need any extra supplies. The rooms were beautiful with modern bathrooms, great hot water, and a lovely balcony view where we got to watch the sunset. What really made our stay special was the staff. The manager went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of, treating us like VIPs. The rest of the staff was just as helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this place if you’re visiting the area. We’d love to come back!

the silence, being inserted in the nature, the host’s were amazing, super nice and available for our needs, they even showed us their garden and some tree fruits. The safari available by them was amazing, our driver was impeccable, it’s concern was showing us every wild life and we were able to see the elephants closer. the facilities were new and with an amazing view. for sure will go back. We had the opportunity to spend their new year’s with them , and that is an experience we will take forever.

Vimanra hotel is by far one of the most beautiful places you can find in udawalawe. Its a small family-run hotel located in a lush and green forest, next to a lake. It was amazing to wake up to the sound of birds and taking a dip in the (very clean) swimming pool. The garden is full of plants and fruit trees such as mangos, papayas and pineapple. There's even a small lake filled with fish. The owners are very very kind and helpful. They booked a safari for us and even made us a very, very good dinner on the day that all shops and restaurants were closed. You'll feel immediately at home and at peace in this place. The family room is huge and the bathroom is very big! Shower and toilet are separated which is very convenient for a group of 3 or 4. If you've been in busy Kandy or galle, then this is the perfect place to calm down and enjoy the beautiful lush nature of Sri Lanka . And not to forget: the beds were very comfy and the rooms have airconditioning

We chose Gayan's for the location, a few hundred metres from the entrance to Uda Walawe National Park, but a stay here offers so much more. The room was very clean and comfortable with good air con, fan and hot water and was good value. Gayan organised a trip to the Elephant Transit Home, an afternoon safari, and he drove us to Galle for a very fair price. Our safari driver Gune, looked after us very well in the Park. He drove safely and showed experience in spotting many animals and careful positioning for a good view. Gayan's mother prepared a delicious vegetarian rice and curry meal both nights, and the included breakfast was delicious too. We would definitely stay there again.
