Although you have to take a 15 minutes bus trip to get to the old town there's still more advantages such as two shopping malls nerby (Akropolis and Ozas), cozy neighborhood and the bus stop is 2-3 minutes walk. Except the cold floor, the apartment is perfect. There are several pairs of linens and towels, lots dishes, dishwasher, laundry and bath. Also a nice bonus was the Netflix account on the TV (Idk if we could use it or not but thanks). We got a room in the second floor faces to the forest. The room is very big, like around 25-27 sqm, has a big bathroom. We enjoyed our stay very much. Downstairs at the first floor we had our amazing time relaxing on the spa/sauna/jacuzzi/swimming pool. The food from the restaurant was also impressive, I recommend the homemade dumplings. There are many things to see in Vilnius which are mentioned in the guide books. We took a tour explaining the Soviet influence which was excellent. A taxi driver pointed out the prison which is a free visit unless you want a guided tour and now also a music venue and bar with food. The Dukes palace was very good. The shop of the local textile factory Textilite had interesting and affordable clothes. Fokus Pica Ukmergė - we got a very tasty pizza and the servers were friendly. Užupio Kavinė, Ukmergė - there were fine coffee and delicious cake and a very nice hostess who speaks very good English. Pets were welcome at both locations. Vilnius is a beautiful European city with a storied history. Compared to many other European cities, Vilnius is safe day and night. Lithuanians are friendly towards visitors. Vilnius is a city where the past, present, and future blend seamlessly. Getting around is simple and convenient. You can hop on public transport, rent scooters, bikes, or cars through services like CityBee, or just take the bus to wherever you need to go. For something a little different, try the water bus along the Neris River- it’s a unique experience with stunning views. I’d recommend going in the morning for the most peaceful scenery. Another must-see is the TV Tower, where you’ll get a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire city. If you can, take a nighttime stroll through the city and make your way up Gediminas Hill- it’s magical after dark. And of course, no trip is complete without tasting traditional Lithuanian cuisine. We got held up earlier in the day so arrived after the castle had closed. The best we could do was a sunset walk around the castle (which was pretty, but not the same as touring inside).
