Very nice small hotel in the countryside next to small river and fields. Part of the hotel is museum of old cars and tractors. There is also open air museum showcasing different farm buildings and jobs. Area is very quiet and even romantic. Restaurant has good offer of foods for dinner or lunch. Breakfast was also very good, not that much of choice compared to big hotels, but still enough to be happy. It seems that everything is new. Parking is right beside hotel building or next to restaurant. Room was very comfy, spacious and clean. As the hotel is next to private lake, there are insect nets on all windows so one can enjoy fresh air from outside but there is also good air condition. I left my window open and it was nice to wake up to birds singing. Travelers with pets will enjoy lot of free space to play. Pets are allowed in restaurant without any issues. Definitely will stay again in this hotel.

Host is very nice, welcoming, friendly and exceptionaly polite, room was cozy and comfortable, big comfy bed, everything is super clean, bathroom is spacious with all you need inside, including washing machine. Large, comfortable kitchen with coffee machine and refrigerator and rest area with pool table. Loved the beautiful pink soft bathrobe, will buy myself the same one!:) Thank you!

The hotel is elegant and close to the leisure park and boating. The beds were comfortable with top class linen. We didn't have breakfast but we had lunch and it was of a high standard. In the morning the Sauna is free provided you book it. This added to the feeling of a luxurious break. Reception staff were friendly and helpful.

    Great host, it was easy to adjust with her our check-in times. We stayed in yellow cabin "Saule". It was very comfortable to sleep. The smell of freshly cut grass and watching the fog in the meadow nearby - perfect :)

    Unfortunately Jelgava was completely destroyed at the end of WW2. Nothing but 5 or 6 historical buildings left. The city is all soviet built soulless block houses. Very sad and not too interesting for visiting.

    The Bauska castle is fantastic!

    The Bauska castle is fantastic! The restoration and collection of artifacts is amazing. Information is available in multiple languages for most of the displays. It is also near the palace at Rundale which is another restored gem.

    I am biased as it is my favorite place in the world and I was heartbroken to move out. There's nothing flashy about Jekabpils, but great lake Radži, little, cute streets, quiet and peaceful, nice castle with a museum.

    Favorite spot to visit - Engure lake nature park, where you can see wild cows and horses. Very nice beaches in the city with children playground, changing cabins. City center beach has 2 bars. Engure city very quiet, has several cafe/restaurant to choose from, very nice bakery for breakfast or just to grab something with you. Very nice park with statues and playground for kids.

    Interesting castle close to the hotel with good water...

    Interesting castle close to the hotel with good water activities offered on the river. Did not use public transport but had a hire car. The streets in general were well maintained and well signposted so that getting around Jelgava by car was easy.

    The castle is very interesting to visit.

    The castle is very interesting to visit. It has been restorated, but nicely. Good collection of old things and there are the old fashion costumes. Unfortunately the city is crowded with cars driving from Letland to Lithuania , because the route goes through Bauska. To visit Rindales palace just take the bus ( once an hour for 1 euro), it is 15 minutes driving. Please be careful when checking the times yo travel back. Not all departure times are applicable to all days

    Very small town but clean and few things to see. Beautiful Krustpils castle, so much history. Very green, lots of trees and greenery. There is few nice places to eat , tasty Latvian cuisine. Quite cheap for big portions. They have big sports hall which holds ice hokey games and other sports events.

    I adored the city.

    I adored the city. It is a nice mixture of historical sights and nature. The riverside and the island are wonderful and it is really nice to walk in the streets. We came by car and there were a lot of parking places. If you don't wanna walk too much, there are plenty of electric scooters too.
