Location, design, decor, staff! An exceptionally special stay in this historic village. 8 rooms, each unique, each with a view and/or a terrace. Staff very accommodating- it was a very cold spell and they made sure we had heat in our room. Each common room of the hotel was a masterpiece, the cave-like ‘family room’ to the dining area and terraces. Breakfast was also exceptional taste of the region and plentiful. Because it is a UNESCO site there is very limited power. Charging is done in a central area by reception. All lights are out at night to conserve. Knowing this ahead allows you to plan accordingly. Parking for 20 dirhams in someone’s gated yard worked well. Hotel has this dialed in and it’s a good way just be sure you are paying the property owner and not someone on the street acting like it’s theirs. Sunset from the top, sunrise from the eastern knob, or from the hotel terrace.

Both dinner and breakfasts are of high quality, nicely prepared and presented. And the staff (Nadia), the manager (Mohammad),and the owner are all wonderful people. Fantastic stay at Brahim and Nadia's place. They are very passionate about sharing and preserving the unique heritage of the Skoura palm grove. Nadia has a background in tourism and English studies, and Brahim is pursuing doctoral studies in political science focussed on socio-cultural changes in the Skoura palm grove. I would recommend staying more than one night, and let Brahim organize a guided walk through the beautiful surroundings, or even a cozy picnic under the palm trees. He will gladly share stories about traditional irrigation practices, challenges to ancestral cooperative structures, as well as information on the ecosystem of the palm grove. Overall a wonderful immersive experience, that is both comfortable and extremely local! I wish Nadia and Brahim all the best in their project, and hope to be able to visit them again.

Stunning and homely riad. Exceptional service from Rachid who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We were having discussion about Moroccan food and from this conversation he cooked us an egg and tomato tagine for breakfast on our last day. Exceptionally clean and relaxed place. I would 100% recommend this place and return if I ever came back to Ouarzazate.
