- From $425.13 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.7Good - What previous guests thought, 772 reviewsThe Ravenala hotel was just amazing! Our room was super big, comfy with an amazing bed and view on the gardens. The breakfast options were great, you have plenty of different choices (vegan, childfriendly options...). The staff care was exeptional, always ready to help us with our requieries. The highlight of our stay was the special dinner that we had on the front deck on the waterfront, a lovely and romantic experience to enjoy as a couple! Highly recommend! Special thanks to Mr David and the staff for making it one of our best staysGuest review byAyouéFrance
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very Good - What previous guests thought, 908 reviewsFrom check in to check out everything was perfect. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Super friendly throughout. The breakfast was superb and didn't get boring during our 10 day stay. We also enjoyed many lunches and dinners in the most beautiful setting. The rooms were cleaned and freshened daily. Mount Choisy beach is one of the most beautiful on the island and we were lucky to be right on it. Beach access for swimming is a short walk but a beautiful one. I would come back here in a heartbeatGuest review byLoriItaly

Mauritius is called by its locals as paradise island i mean everyone says amazing things about the country they originate from however the people of mauritius truly mean it when they say it, its a beautiful colourful, green and tropical country with endless miles of beaches always a stone throw away. where ever you go you see beautiful coconut trees, palm trees and mango trees and some stunning birds, colourful dragon flies and bats the nature alone is so breathtaking. the food, the locals, the price point of excursions, the weather and the beaches were literally out of this world. its a country that i would genuinely consider going again and again infact i actually cant wait to step back into mauritous and forget my blues, if your a avid diver or snorkler then mauritius is a must, we did so much in the space of 9 days from paragliding, snorking with turtles, undersea water walking, diving, water sking, off road riding using ATVs/quad bikes, watched horse racing, zip lining, shopping in there vibrant colourful markets, visiting historical sites that were rich with history and different cultures, eating out local street food and world class cuisines for very little money. super affordable and what a beautiful hidden gem of a country. family and myself were completely blown away by it to the point we are rethinking ever going back to places like dubai over beautiful tropical natural countries like mauritius. we also had a friendly parrot that would visit us daily and gladly sit amongst us without being scared or shy and share some food with us.Guest review byImranUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Great for relaxation. Beautiful, serene, welcoming.
Great for relaxation. Beautiful, serene, welcoming. Splendid for scuba divers or paddle boarders. Practically zero night life. Careful: too many dangerous dogs roaming around everywhere in Mauritius (not just on this beach) make nightly walks ghastly and horrifying - I got attacked multiple times! I had to fight for my safety and health and fend the feral beasts off! That’s a harrowing experience you don’t want on your holiday. The government should tackle this serious problem ASAP!Guest review byJuraj GerbelSlovakia - 10.0
We both enjoyed the stay.
We both enjoyed the stay. The staff was polite, respectful. they couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable and pleasurable. Deepak Goolaria and his kitchen team prepared an eggless cake for me to celebrate my birthday. Sandeep and Vikram, Sucheeta and Jason were always working and talking to us how was our stay going.Guest review byRajVinder Singh - 8.0

The beach of Mon Choisy is a long sunny sandy beach nice for swimming. During October to March it is hot there but the sea is great for swimming. However during these months some cyclones may also visit the Island ! Other months are also sunny and the climate are cooler around 24c during the day. In weekdays the beach is calm and it is not crowded. However during Sundays and public holidays locals are there and it is very crowded but as it is a long beach there is still some space for everyone. On Sundays expect loud music from loudspeakers by some picknickers though there is law about it but it is rarely respected. There are also many stray dogs on the beach but they are not aggresive.Guest review byHooben TOUSSAINTMauritius - 10.0

Balaclava is not the most lively part of Mauritius which suited us perfectly. It consists mostly of vegetable fields, forests and small hamlets. The coast is getting developed with hotels but each is keeping its space so it doesn't feel crowded. You need to rent a car or get a taxi to visit the nearest town, Pamplemousses. There you have the old sugar factory, botanical gardens and a very pleasant shopping mall with a food supermarket.Guest review byCzech girlCzech Republic - 10.0

There are 3-4 notable restaurants, up to 5 street food options. winner's has everything you need. The beach is very good, if it was crystal clear that would be dreamy. Sunday evening (confirmed from a local, it's happening every week) a bit loud, a bit different than others. Difficult to eat outside because of the high volume.Guest review byMutluTurkey - 8.0

The location was ideal, the weather in the North was great during winter week. The duplex is location is just right. Not often you will have one that gives you direct access to the beach which makes this one desirable.Guest review byShahineUnited Kingdom - 8.0
An ideal spot away from the bustle of Grand Baie.
An ideal spot away from the bustle of Grand Baie. Perfect for couples. There is a large public beach a few minutes walk away which has all the local facilities. Beach shacks selling local food and fresh fruit juices. The local people were all very friendly and the taxi rank nearby was ideal for planning trips.Guest review byVeraUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Roches Noires is a nice place.
Roches Noires is a nice place. Keep in mind that in our summer (july / august) it is winter over there and the east coast will have a constant breeze (up to 4 BFT). Having a rental car we found that almost all of the days we would drive to the west or south coast as there is no wind on that side during their winter.Guest review byMarkNetherlands
