- From $33.37 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 1,309 reviewsWe splurged on a air-conditioned cabana (which was still super affordable $75AUD for 2) The bed was so so comfy and aircon so frosty. We had a huge tour from San Cristobel the day we checked in, and was super tired and it was the best place to recooperate before our long bus the next day. You can see so many monkeys right outside your door. And are legit in the jungle. There is a fantastic pool, hammocks and whole vibe is relaxing. Its not a party place if that's what your looking for. We had already been to ruins the day before, but they are pretty close (around 3 KMS) and collectivo goes from outside door. The restaurant is pretty good, food is on the higher cost side for Mexico (around 150- 200 pesos pp) but also it's so convenient and staff are so lovely. There is a kitchen too if prefer cooking. Drinks are reasonable price (55 pesos for beer, around 90 for a cocktail). They also let us stay on sight and storage luggage for no extra fee after check out at 12. We also had a couples massage onsite! There is also an easy self service laundry onsite for a fee (pretty expensive compared to others we've been to (around 300 pesos for 8 kg with clean, dry and detergent) but so convenient that it's onsite. Also everything was super clean and well managed. We had a really fantastic experience.Guest review byFreyaAustralia
- From $96.71 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Excellent - What previous guests thought, 864 reviewsVery comfortable, large room and cleaned every day. The room had everything we could want, fridge, bedside lamps, hairdryer, balcony with table and chairs. The first room we were given didn’t have a great outlook so we asked to change which they arranged immediately and with no bother. The area round the pool was lovely with loungers and hammocks and there was always some shade. The pool was regularly cleaned of falling leaves. The restaurant served a variety of food of good quality and fairly priced. It was very pleasant to have candlelit dinners by the pool. The location was great, 5 minute walk to the bus station, 7 minutes to the market and 10 to the main square. The area was very pleasant and quiet with restaurants and coffee shops. We extended our stay and would highly recommend.Guest review byFrancesCanada
- From $200.22 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 68 reviewsAll the facilities were very nice, very well arranged, in a perfect location near the river, in the center of the jungle. We enjoyed that everything they serve in the restaurant they produce by themselves and in general food was very delicious; hotel is very sustainable. Stuff is very very nice, especially our tour guide - Ivan.Guest review byAnisaMexico
- From $89.18 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very Good - What previous guests thought, 263 reviewsIt was a awesome trip, it's a little isolated which we did not mind you have the beach to yourself mostly except for the other guess. But we enjoyed it because it was more romantic and quit. The restaurant was great to the best drinks i have had at the beach not water down lol. I will recommend them and return again.Guest review byHubertsUnited States
- From $96.17 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 891 reviewsEverything. It was beautifully landscaped , the rooms were situated for privacy, and the pool was absolutely stunning, especially with the lighting at night. It was definitely one of the most attractive resort-like places we’ve stayed at. It was immaculately clean. Top marks to the hard-working cleaners.Guest review byMaureenCanada
- From $96.10 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 520 reviewsThe staff was stellar: informative, super friendly, helpful and efficient. The food in the restaurant (both dinner and the breakfast buffet) was pretty good too 😀 The room was uncarpeted which was nice, as there seemed to be less mold/dust in the room compared to another hotel we checked out.Guest review byKatrinDenmark

The town is charming, the restaurants serving local cuisine are delightful and the summer climate is amazing. 15 degrees at night and 22 or so during the day with no humidity. There are many activities in or near San Cristobal and we enjoyed the local parks at Arcotete and Grutas del Mamut. Our dogs were able to run off-leash and explore the forest. We spent a month at a Spanish language school (San Cris) which was a wonderful place to improve our language skills.Guest review byDonaldMexico - 6.0
To warm. even in the winter month a the end of November!
To warm. even in the winter month a the end of November! The real problem, was Booking.com, when I choose One Way from Tux MX. to DFW, when I ticked proceed, Booking.com's AI toggled reserve to ROUND TRIP, But that did not show on "conformation" page, I just though the price was high! So leaving on date chosen, BUT, the 3:30pm was changed, by AI to 9:30AM same day, Or 6 hours AHEAD of original flight time! And to make that even more horrid: we are the get to the airport 3 hours ahead of, poofy 6:30 AM, I didn't the change of the total of 9 hours BEFORE. so my Cabby didn't know so WE BOTH MISSED THE FLIGHT, And I also found the AI double charging when I tried to book another ONE WAY, Tux to DWF, was $498.00, rather than half that! AND according to Booking.com new AI, I'd get to DWF, and hop right back on a plane, and return to Tux,MX 3 hours latter! Not this 75 year old man! So I be taking buses, that are not booked with Booking.Com's new AI! Booking.com did that same thing to my 72 year old sister, and their support couldn't FIX that double booking robbery, so I owe her for that AI robbery, also, making total loss, besides TIME, OVER $1000.00 USD! Since I didn't get my money back that I lost, of $1000.00 USD, I can't afford to book with Booking.com, any more, since their so-called support didn't return the overpayments, either!Guest review byJonnyLawUnited States - 10.0

Tapachula is a good overnight point for crossing the border...
Tapachula is a good overnight point for crossing the border with Guatemala at either Ciudad Hidalgo /Tecún Umán or Talisman /El Carmen. You can stock up on your favorite things before going to Guatemala where availability is scarce or imported goods cost a lot of money, but check first on import taxes or restrictions before buying stuff to take into Guatemala. There are a lot of supermarkets, Home Depot, Auto Zone, Walmart, Starbucks, lots of restaurants of all types and for all budgets. Downtown is lively, but traffic can be bad, airport outside of town has flies to many locations in Mexico.Guest review byAuraUnited States - 10.0

This city is beautiful and great for walking.
This city is beautiful and great for walking. The sidewalks are not as difficult to navigate as in some other cities, but you still need to be careful and have grippy shoes for when it rains. The weather was lovely and cool; a nice break for us Texans in the month of June. We didn’t have nearly enough time here and we hope to return and explore more!Guest review byEhlaneUnited States - 6.0
Two nights is sufficient to go on a trip.
Two nights is sufficient to go on a trip. Industrial city nothing to see. Good Uber service to use for the trip to Sumidero canyon you don’t have to pay tour operators. Stay in newer Hilton on the Main Street. You can safely eat the cut fruits from the vendors on the street or the square. Crisp in a bag and they pour hot sauce on top, delicious. I had rice drink with cinnamon and it tasted of rice pudding. I wouldn’t go again if I had a choice I would go to Palenque.Guest review byVarshaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Palenque is a good place to stay whilst you visit the archeological site and museum. There are plenty of good hotels and restaurants close to the ADO bus station which is where you want to be. There are regular minibuses to Palenque so no need for a taxi unless you wish to travel alone.Guest review byAndrewUnited Kingdom - 8.0
