A Heartwarming Experience at the Marriott Resort, Perhentian Island, Malaysia My stay at the Marriott Resort in Perhentian Island was one of those rare experiences that leave a lasting impression. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed, not just as a guest, but almost like family. From the duty manager to the housekeeping team, everyone greeted us with a smile, always ready to help with kindness and warmth. One person who truly stood out was Syahrul, one of the golf cart drivers. His cheerful attitude and sincere willingness to assist us, no matter the time or request, made our stay smoother and more enjoyable. It’s people like him who make a place feel special. Being in a tropical environment, we did come across a gecko in our room a few times, which is completely understandable. What impressed us was how quickly the staff responded each time, showing up within minutes and handling it with professionalism and care, never making us feel like we were a bother. From the delicious food, peaceful surroundings, and incredible diving/snorkeling center, to the small thoughtful gestures from the team, everything came together to create a truly memorable trip. This resort is not just about beautiful views or luxurious rooms, it’s about people who genuinely care. I would return in a heartbeat, and I recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a sincere, relaxing, and heartwarming island escape.

The private room is a real advantage! And the private garden too! Very close to anything and clean!! The staff was soooooooo nice and always ready to help! The BuBu Villa offers many private services like scuba diving and taxi boat only for their guest which is very comfortable! The food at the hotel was awesome: breakfast, lunch and dinner, anytime! The complementary services were also awesome! I will definitely come back!!

Whilst it remains one of the more expensive places to stay on Long Beach, it also remains the best place to eat.     The staff were very nice and helpful. We arrived on the island early and were able to check in early since the room we booked was ready. The room was clean, well maintained, and had sufficient facilities—good enough for an island stay. I had read quite a number of bad reviews before booking, so I was a little sceptical. But for me, it was a really good stay and a great chalet. I also loved the location—not too quiet or secluded, but private enough to have the beach mostly to yourself, with fewer people and fewer boats around. Aircond worked well, there is hot water (shower) as well. The food at the restaurant is good as well I would say. Overall, a great stay and will definitely repeat my stay here. Clean, wooden floors, very cozy. If you are afraid of insect/mosquito problem, just bring the necessary items beforehand as precaution. But my friend and I personally did not have any issue in that regard. You may need it for other parts on the island, I'm not too sure.

    I liked everything about this place, the chalet is in front of beach, no need to hike or walk more than 1km. Room was very neat, toilet and towel was dry and the air-con was already open before we even arrived. We got breakfast in the package and the breakfast provided was so good with plenty of variety. Unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy more since our boat arrived at 7.45am. Definitely will repeat the same chalet with kinda private beach, it was so quiet and serene and even we went on public holiday, not so crowded compared to Long beach, my friend said it was very crowded that they need to pay for to sit in front row of fireshow at night.

    a really great stay. we’d been on the other island and staying on Long Beach and we were so happy when we moved over here because we paid a similar price for a MUCH nicer place and we liked how quiet this island was, especially in the off season. the room was clean, the bathroom was nice. we weren’t in a chalet but the block of rooms, everything is so close to the beach though.

    The chalet is very well located on a beautiful beach, the owners are very friendly and helpful,,, they made the whole stay comfortable for me and attended to my every need! The food is good and they have bbq every night on the beach. I got a massage with ocean view and the masseuse was also very good! I fully recommend this place! Totally worth it.

    Beautiful sea front property facing the turquoise blue waters. Beach is right in front with options for snorkeling and scuba diving. Boat ride transfer from Kuala Besut will get you to their jetty. Easy to get around to other beaches and Kecil island via water taxis. PIR is a good option to consider for a relaxing stay!

    i went as a solo female backpacker, i love a good party, i love the beach and i love good food! and i had all!! its actually just paradise on earth. theres only 2 bars so youll meet everyone, there is also a little walk you can do to get to the otherside to have dinner and watch the sunset which is really fun. the restraunts have really yummy and reasonably priced food. I reccomend getting cash out before you go and stocking up on sunscreen, cigarettes, aloe vera and water before you go because the little shops there are expensive due to the importation efforts. you absolutely MUST do day tours as well, the sights are unmatched and super cheap, there is tour vendors all over the beach you wont have a hard time organsiing anything. also youll most likely find the love of your life there but dont hold me to that. if you want to go diving or get your diving license this is also the place as packages are super cheap and often include accomodation and food.

    Some great beaches with crystal clear waters. . i would recommend staying at long beach or coral beach on the smaller island. Rather than the fisherman's village. Boat trip to Redang - all day but worth the 150 MYR

    The nature and the sea life was wonderful.

    The nature and the sea life was wonderful. The bad thing is you always have to hire a taxi boat or you have to take a tour to travel in the islands. You always have to bargain and never believe what was written on the boards. Swimming with the sharks and sea turtles were wonderful. Snorkeling tour is a must see in the island. Coral life is very exciting.
