Located 50 km from the Naukluft Mountain Zebra Park, the Capricorn Restcamp is surrounded by the tranquil Namibian desert. It offers simply decorated bungalows and a bar. The cottages had enough space and amenities. It was an experience worth having as you were away from the hustle of the urban space. You felt more connected to the natural world in the desert with little technology and the basics. What was wonderful was that the setup is off grid yet is self sufficient and produces much more energy than it consumes.

Boasting a swimming pool, a garden, a terrace and views of the mountain, BKZ Self-Catering is situated in Solitaire and features accommodation with free WiFi. The owners, hot showers, hospitality, views, calmness, a kitchen to prepare your food and the garden with many trees on which are hanging fruits such as oranges and others. And a small round pool ( we didn't use it though) It's an Oasis in the desert to look at. If you are driving especially at nighttime, It's quite remote and easy to miss, but the owner is a gentleman as he was waiting for us at the roadside. I don't know how long he waited but must have been a while. Shortly after we arrived, I realised that we had a punctured tyre, we decided to change it next morning, come next morning the car was lying flat on two punctured tyres ( remember don't rent a car with Avis they give you bad tyres it's known around here ) the owner helped repair a total of 3 punctures, otherwise who knows how long I had been stuck. Thanks to the gentleman.

We were received in a very friendly manner and guided to our chalet with sufficient explanation of where everything is and how everything works .

Well equiped and maintained place, nice stylish decor. Dinner was excellent, staff very attentive. Hosts came to greet everyone which was sincere and nice touch. The farm itself situated in beautiful desert.

Featuring a terrace overlooking the swimming pool, Camelthorn Kalahari Lodge is located 30 km from Hoachanas. We were met with a drink and hot towel after the long drive in - felt like royalty ! Our room was clean and very comfortable. It looked out across the Kalahari desert from where we spotted plenty of wildlife. The breakfast was great and the evening meal was superb - the staff really went out of their way to make the most delicious vegetarian dinner for us😊 The staff are super helpful and friendly. The pool area is great to relax around. Loved the complimentary Bushman’s walk in the morning- really interesting and would highly recommend. The sundowner tour in the evening was fab- we saw giraffes, oryx, rhinos, fox, vulture… and the drinks while watching the sunset was the icing on the cake. Bertus was a brilliant guide.
