- From $248.91 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 215 reviewsThis is a fabulously situated lodging next to the fossilized red dunes of the Namib desert. The gemsboks are attracted to the lodge and come in very close to its borders, allowing for optimum wildlife viewing and photography. The hikes around the lodge were very nice and there were many birds. The meals were very good and the staff are super friendly. The female chef was particularly charming and came out after each meal to see how we liked our food. There are two pools. A freak sandstorm with rain and thunder arrived suddenly one night at dinner and the staff quickly relocated diners from outside to safety inside and suggested we move our cars to avoid damage from overhanging branches. They were very kind and thoughtful.Guest review byCarolineUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 819 reviewsThis place was wonderful and a great place to start off our Namibia trip. It is on a private reserve and there is a small waterhole right by the restaurant so animals can be seen up-close. The pet zebra that roams close to the lodge is great especially if you have never seen a zebra before! The room itself was clean and spacious, as was the bathroom, with every comfort in it (including very nice soaps and lotions). What was really memorable was the scent of the roof's grass all throughout the room - I loved it! Food was also good. Note that in the wet season you need a 4x4 to reach it.Guest review byelenaItaly

We stayed at the Desert Camp, not far from the park entrance gate. It was an easy drive to the park, and the 60km of wonderful tarred road to the 2 wheel drive car park. This gives access to Dig Daddy dune and Deadvlei. From here the park vehicle took us to Big Momma dune, and also goes to Hidden Vlei. All very easy. Dune 45 is 45 km along the road. The bus cost 180 Namibian dollars in October 2023. Wear runners to climb the dunes and walk to Deadvlei. Har, sunglasses and water are essential. We ate at the restaurant inside the park gate. Good and affordable. We bought our water at the shop there. Breakfast at the Sossusvlei Lodge was good too. I would recommend paying extra for tyre and glass insurance when picking up your rental car. Prior to coming to Sesriem, we had a flat tyre far from anywhere and Hertz directed us to a lodge with tyre repair services. We had to go on to Outjo to get the fixed tyre replaced, but the insurance made it less of a concern.Guest review byStevenIreland - 8.0

We stayed in this location mainly to visit Sossusvlei which is further south. Solitaire itself is a charming but tiny settlement - only a few buildings and a petrol station, however it has an amazing cafe serving "the world's best apple pie" and it was! Solitaire is about a 20 minute drive from Soft Adventure Camp at the Namib Naukluft Lodge.Guest review byJulietAustralia - 10.0
Best place to experience the oldest desert on earth.
Best place to experience the oldest desert on earth. Wonderful place to spend time with. At least you need to stay 1 night inside park to make sure that you can go to Deadvlei early in the moring. Take photos with shade of light. Hiking at Daddy dune in the morning and slide down to deadvlei.Guest review byOnnichaThailand - 10.0

Sesriem is an oasis in the desert and everything is well organized but basic. Prepare well before you go. The cleanliness of the entire area is remarkable. The Namibian people are very friendly and helpful - don't be shy to ask for advice.Guest review byPierSouth Africa - 10.0
