This is not the Ritz-Carlton and that is one of the many reasons it is so amazing! This the oldest hotel in the Netherlands, located in a quaint village with historic charm. We enjoyed the gorgeous view during breakfast and shopping in the little shops in Veere. Parking is close and you receive a significant discount if you pay through the hotel. Pets are welcome. Seeing the sailboats & yachts coming and going throughout the day was really pleasant. The staff were wonderful. We highly recommend!

Veere is a wonderful place to visit and this accommodation is right smack in the middle of it. Not a large room but enough space to put your bags away. A very comfortable bed and a good sized bathroom with a great shower. What's not to like? The restaurant downstairs is also very good.

    Kamperland is a perfect area for cyclists to explore and travel around safely. Routes are well signposted. Supermarkets are well stocked. My brother rode a low trike operated with hand cranks and we found the cars were ultra careful and conscious of his movements.

    The village with local well-equipped Spar supermarket was less than 20 minutes walk away. Great variety of cafes and restaurants ; do make sure you try the seafood dishes! Excellent walking /cycling paths in any direction you choose , especially along the waterfront. A car would be highly recommended to make the most of this area. There were no buses after 5pm weekdays and none at the weekend

    Kats is a tiny hamlet, but a good starting point for bike tours on Noord Beveland. This island is very empty, go for the nature and the sea. Bordered by the Oosterschelde and the Veerse Meer, there's plenty to do for water lovers. The small towns of Kortgeene and Collijnsplaat offer decent restaurants and shops. But don't expect too much civilisation :)

    A small but nice collection of shops- clothes shop, Aldi and Albert Hein supermarkets open on Sunday. Very practical. Plenty to do and see within a short drive- boat tours on the Verse Meer and in the nature area of the Oosterschelde, Middelburg market Thursdays. Also in Kamperland an original and quirky offer to go for a walk with donkeys. And of course the beach is not too far away.
