Lovely city to visit , great walks along the sea wall. Very easy to visit other parts of Zeeland from this area Explore the Westcapelle area and the war memorials, drive over the man made delta. Walking, hiking anywhere
Middelburg is a pleasant town, and we prefer it to Vlissingen, which can be a bit drab outside of the summer months. Middelburg had a pleasant square and the town hall building is beautiful. You can climb the church tower if you want to see the views over Zeeland. Lots of places to eat - Jazz-Eetcafe Desafinado and De Mug being particular favourites. Lots of cafes/restaurants surround the square, but you can easily find a gem down one of the smaller streets. Take a walk around the outskirts of Middelburg, following the canal, as this is very pleasant
Vlissingen is goede uitvalsbasis richting stranden en de rest van het schiereiland. Middelburg, Domburg en vooral Veere zijn pareltjes. Plus in Zeeland : wat een stranden en rust
We are not really beach people, but Zoutelande still has this cosy little village atmosphere and at the same time provides enough good quality service to guests. It is also a good location to explore other parts of Zeeland.
Middleburg is a super place for a relaxing break. Plenty of cafes and restaurants and good shops but the coast is also nearby making this a perfect break. I normally go straight to Amsterdam but the Netherlands has much more to offer with pretty towns such as Middleburg and interesting villages to explore. As cycling is the norm there's less exhaust fumes and quieter roads. The landscape is flat but it's not boring with high dunes, plenty of beaches with miles of white sands, coastal paths, dykes and one can purchase wonderful bread for all the picnics. We ate in Amy and Ta a Vietnamese restaurant in Middleburg as they were able and happy to provide freshly cooked Vegan food. They asked us what we would like and cooked it without fuss. It was delicious and the portions are large. This place is just off the square and we can recommend. The Zeeuws Museum has a stylish cafe and they offer fantastic coffee and vegetarian apple cake amongst other light lunches and teas. The museum isn't huge but it's worth a visit ( the natural history exhibition was excellent) although the third floor was closed for renovation. That floor houses the history museum; I was most interested to visit this and understand more about the history of this Zeeland Area. But, next time I hope it will be open. As a result of the disappointment the curator gave us free coffee and free postcards which was very kind. Just like all the Dutch people we met in fact !
Middelburg is a small Dutch city in the province of Zeeland, not overrun by tourists. A day in this city is more than enough, although it's a good place from where to explore the rest of the island / province. It has gorgeous canals, squares, buildings, like the impressive city hall. Don't forget to try a 'Zeeuwse bolus' at Bliek bakery, a local treat!
Having driven through Zeeland on this trip, I have discovered much better locations to stay. Domburg for example. But as a basis for Zeeland-trips, near an important highway, I guess this is a convenient location.
Lovely little Zeeland city with lots to see: the yacht harbor, the pilot harbor, great walks through the waterfront, lots of historic buildings, and a great city square with terraces and restaurants. There is a lovely beach that it's visitors do not keep clean. For magnificent beaches travel a little ways outside of Vlissingen.
Middelburg is the perfect town to stay when exploring Zeeland. It has a wonderful feel, easy to walk the quaint streets and tons of great shops too! There are restaurants galore, be sure to try De Tap! You can hop in your car for lots of side trips in the area. Go to Veere! Enjoy spotting windmills and sheep. Stop in at a local fish shop for the freshest seafood.
Cozy and laid-back town with history, shopping and nearby beaches. Definitely worth a visit when you're travelling Zeeland / the south of the Nethelands.

The owners were very nice and helpful. They had everything prepared for a stay with kids: from Easter egg hunting to toys in the kitchen or the breakfast table, a safety door to avoid accidents with the stairs, a jumping trampoline... You can walk to see animals around the property, it has a great garden to play, bikes for free, motorbikes to rent. A very good spot to spend a couple of nights with kids and visit Zeeland from there! Breakfast was very nice and quite complete: fresh orange juice and fruit, eggs, very nice marmalades...

Our host, Jurrien, was very friendly and helpful with useful advice on restaurants, directions and the surrounding area. Middelburg is like a mini Amsterdam from an architectural point of view, very neat and pretty. Easy to get out into the country and enjoy the delights of Zeeland. De Mug, a bar/restaurant on the other side of the centre, had to be our favourite haunt and the food was good as well as the beer!

It was more than perfect!!! We had ''orange doughnuts'' for Kings Day and our host made it possible for us to meet our dream ''expeditie Robinson'' winner BOERIN BETTY who was also a very friendly and relaxed personality!!! We could have free coffee and tea at all times!! Everything about this cozy pension was super!!! I call it a ''second home'' in Zeeland

Really great flat (more than 100 m2 !), really clean and well furnished. Ideal for a family stay (two very large bedrooms, each with its own perfectly clean bathroom; fully furnished kitchen and living room; free access to wellness & spa...). Great location as well, not far from Domburg really cute city center and from amazing Zeeland's beaches.
Quiet bungalow park in Zeeland, great for family who want accomodation away from hustle and bustle. Better suited to younger children perhaps but great for older kids if they enjoy cycling, water sports & good wifi. Beaches, diving, golf, cycling, boating and pleasant towns are all on your door step or at worst 30 min drive.

Thus B&B sets the standard for all others. Great location on the quay, stylish rooms, lovely host and enjoyable breakfast. The price includes use of the bicycles (or full sized scooters) and given theb easy access to the Dutch bike network, Zeeland is your oyster. If you go, do try the sailing trip booked via the museum.

Polite, efficient staff. Very good location in centre of town and for touring Zeeland. Breakfast is fresh but is chosen for you on a tray. My husband and I were amused when each morning we received one bowl of fruit and one yoghurt between two people. In general, the hotel is comfortable and well run.

The room was large with a lovely balcony. The shower was a large walk-in one with a separate toilet, both very clean. The staff was helpful especially when we had dinner. Overall would certainly recommend this hotel. It is also situated close to places to see in what is a lovely part of Zeeland.

Great location for visiting Zeeland, very close to the seaside. Beautiful, comfortable little house decorated with taste and with a personal touch, equipped with everything necessary. And most of all, very friendly and welcoming hosts! We would come back any time with pleasure.

The staff was very friendly, for questions, a little chat, approach to our kids etc. The rooms are basic (we had a family room) but just perfect for our needs. The location is close to the centre of the village and probably the nicest beaches of Zeeland.

The room was nice and spacious. The host was very friendly. He lent us bicycles for free and suggested a tour for us to experience Zeeland. The B&B is really close to Yerseke's oyster farms and restaurants. There is a snack bar down the street.
