the whole atmosphere and aesthetic was amazing. Every detail was well thought out and functional. The colour choices and textures of the fabrics and furniture were lush. The Breakfast is top notch and the fresh squeezed orange juice and cappuccino machine were my absolute favourite!! If I could give this hotel a 6 stars I would. Staff was so wonderful as well. Very happy and friendly !!

I liked the place the most, as I could feel the culture and nature of Lofoten so greatly. Staff was very helpful and friendly, so I could feel like I was visiting friend or family. The room included some pictures and furnitures in very Norwegian style so no doubt which country I was actually sleeping in. Everything was perfectly clean and tidy. Huge plus for sauna in this tiny wooden cottage house. Love this place!

Breakfast was the Best we’ve ever had. Location is in front of pier, great view from our window. We’ve upgraded to a higher floor and it was worth it. Big room, warm bathroom floor. Taxi from airport is about $30. There’s a number in wall of arrival area to call for taxi. It’s like a private pickup since there’s no taxis waiting outside the airport(we arrived late evening).

Amazing hospitality with smiling faces. Makes a big difference. Anna made us a very nice breakfast - delicious and presented very nicely. Maria was very nice and welcoming. They answered all our questions happily and made us feel comfortable. Kim also was very nice and attended to everything we need. The manager was great and chatted with us for a while and gave us nice ideas to explore in Norway. Clean and comfortable rooms. Warm and spacious reception. Amazing views and just a walking distance to the main town.

We had a lovely chalet, the one closest to the beach (thank you, Ingar!). It was perfect for us and ideally located. The chalet was comfortable, warm, spotless, tastefully decorated, and well equipped. We enjoyed effortless beach walks, experienced the midnight sun, braved a full-on storm—and loved every minute of it. We dined in the restaurant all three nights of our stay, and the food and service were excellent. The restaurant has a talented chef, and the young staff took exceptional care of us. Thanks to all of them, and especially to Kaisa.

We stayed in a two-bedroom cottage with sea view for 2 nights in mid Sept 24. The cabin was cozy with lots of space to cook and relax. Despite the autumn storm and rain, the view from the room was amazing. The breakfast was good with an incredible selection of food. As we have to leave very early the next morning, the manager was so kind to pack some breakfast boxes for us the night before. We strongly recommend to everyone.

    Such an incredible place!

Such an incredible place! I visited in off season and two out of three days had good enough weather to explore. The third day had the most intense wind I have experienced, so it wasn’t safe to explore. I was happy with this experience but depending on what you want you may want to visit in summer, so that the trails aren’t so muddy. Even when they are, there is plenty of scenic routes to walk in between the towns!

Ballstad is a pituresque fishing village surronded by mountains. It's located right in the center of Lofoten which makes it a great base for those we want to explore the archipelago. Buksnes church is charming and a must see. Also it's near to Leknes where you can find a lot of stores and supermarkets. Ballstad will have a special place in our hearts as it was where we saw the most fantastic Aurora show which we were expecting for so long.
