- From $177.20 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very Good - What previous guests thought, 3,090 reviewsWe found it very hard to find any fault with this hotel. It is positioned on a hill overlooking the main town and mining area of Roros, a short 5min walk down the road (or alternatively, there is a trail). Our room and bathroom were large and fully functional, the buffet breakfast was one of the best we've had in Norway, and the added bonus was a basement gym (with both machines and a small weight room), along with a 1-washing machine laundry area. We only had one night here, but could easily have stayed for several. If you are bringing mountain bikes with you, there are some awesome trails in the area! The really cool thing about this hotel is that it isn't used by tour groups, meaning you don't have mass groups filling up the breakfast restaurant.Guest review byTracyNew Zealand
- From $187.32 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very Good - What previous guests thought, 1,029 reviewsAn amazing hotel. It was -36 Celsius and we felt warm and cozy! The staff were so nice and had our kids throwing hot water outside to freeze in the air! Make sure you eat in their restaurant as it is exceptional. It is right in the middle of town too. Would highly recommend, especially for a family of 6. We had our own little area of rooms so we didn't have to worry about being noisy!Guest review byNicoleAustralia

It's not close to the city center but there's a bus stop right outside that takes you directly into the city center. The breakfast was an unexpected but pleasant surprise. One of the best buffets we have encountered in Norway.Guest review byYazminNorway

This is a great city. One of Norway's largest in fact.
This is a great city. One of Norway's largest in fact. We took a bike tour and learned about it. The city houses the Norwegian Rock and Roll Hall of fame museum which was fun to check out. We had an AMAZING dinner at Kalas and Canasta. Couldn't recommend any higher. The staff and food was chef's kiss. There is live music around the city and super walkable. We got lucky with the weather. It was roughly 78 and sunny when we were there.Guest review byKathrynUnited States - 10.0

Stayed here to work a flight and was delighted by the location, staff and bar options which are open until 1am, and a restaurant open until 9pm. Fab when options nearby are limited. A lovely garden around the pool area, peaceful and tranquil given its a 4 minute walk from the terminal. Bed were a little soft but once youre in you dont notice. No slamming doors which is a huge bonus in my book, and although no tea and coffee in the room, theres a station for you to make your own for 10sek. Breakfast is plentiful with a huge range of hot and cold options and also, an incredibly peaceful experience. A lovely little gem!Guest review byAnonymousUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The town definitely deserves the UNESCO status that it has the buildings date back from the 16th century and with the history of the copper mines makes it all more interesting. The wooden buildings are exceptional and the insight of how the miners used to live. It gives you food for thoughtGuest review byJeanFrance - 10.0
I stopped in Oppdal by train from Kongsvold.
I stopped in Oppdal by train from Kongsvold. I was on my way to Trondheim doing the pilgrimage of St. Olav's Way. Oppdal is this small town that has a lot of charm. I was able to walk around town for a little bit. There are sidewalks throughout town that allow you to get all over the place. Transportation - There is a train that can take you north to Trondheim. There's also a bus if you need to go to Berkåk. This makes it easy to get around. There's even a taxi service by the name of Trønder Taxi AS that you can use to get around. Warning - taxis are pretty pricey in Norway and I would recommend using public transportation if you can. Download Vy app to check times and buy any tickets you may need. I ended up eating at Burger King in Oppdal(I know, very American of me). I wanted to have something quick to eat. I will say this, fast food chains are more expensive than local restaurants.Guest review by#soarindisneyUnited States - 8.0

Malvik provided easy access to Trondheim and the many museums and historical sites to see in the area. The neighborhood had a fireworks show for New Year's Eve that was withing walking distance and fun for the whole family. The beaches looked very nice, too, but as we were there in winter, we didn't spend time on the beaches.Guest review bySandraUnited States - 10.0

A bustling and vibrant city, where the friendliness and enthusiasm of the locals is contagious! We were travelling through to the Arctic Circle on motorbikes and this was a much needed hotel stop. I was at Hell to see the Hell round for the world rallycross championship, I spent Friday exploring Trondheim as well, the town was great and very easy to get to, with the frequent running train service from the airport to there, in Hell. There’s a decent shopping centre and a few little fast food restaurants, an iconic place to stop and visit is definitely Hell, gods expedition, don’t forget to get your passport stamped at the hell post office too!Guest review byDarrylUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Trondheim is a charming, compact city that can be easily explored on foot within a day or two. Highlights include the bustling local market at the Torg and the majestic Nidaros Cathedral. The city boasts a diverse culinary scene, offering everything from Continental to Asian cuisine, with plenty of options for vegan and vegetarian travellers. Well-connected to the rest of Norway, Trondheim is accessible by bus, train, and also features an airport for convenient travel.Guest review bySUNDERIndia
