- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.8Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 46 reviewsThe Craggy Range Luxury Vineyard Retreat was Exceptional ..our flight from USA was cancelled, our baggage lost and the lady of the reception done everything to help us and offer us a welcome drink at the restaurant. The view was amazing , the breakfast was so healthy with fresh produce, excellent coffee .. all amenities that you could imagine. Room was so comfortable , clean and quiet .. Top of the top.. lovely terrace. We strongly suggest to have lunch or dinner at their restaurant. We could not expect more and will come backGuest review byANTOINEUnited States
- From $136.94 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 417 reviewsOur spacious room was on the ground floor with an outside sitting area overlooking an expanse of grass and water. The bed was comfortable and large, The room was well equipped with cutlery, crockery & a microwave. The bathroom & shower were spacious. The room was very quiet as it is surrounded by open grounds. It is between the airport and the main tourist area so you definitely need a car. We returned for a second night at the end of our visit to the Napier region as we had been so satisfied with the room and the tranquility.Guest review byTravellingOn2022Hong Kong
- From $142.90 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 552 reviewsAll the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room had plenty of space, comfortable bed, lovely decor, bright and clean, with a great view of the town and some sea view. We really appreciated the notes and lovely touches you did to make us feel so welcome, like the welcome book with history of hotel, food in fridge/ counter and sharing things to do in the area.Guest review byJohnUnited States
- From $245.30 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 147 reviewsStaff are amazing, especially reception/manager, I believe his name is Michael, just a consummate host. Breakfast selection was varied and delicious. Grounds are amazing, and the room was very comfortable. The only negative was it set the bar so high that later stays at other properties just could not measure up to Mangapapa.Guest review byMARKUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 3,030 reviewsI stayed in a garden room at Kennedy Park with my mum on a recent trip. It was easily located, check in was simple and easy to find our room, with car park, opposite the pool. We only stayed one night but the accom was clean and adequate with a kettle, fridge and microwave for snacks.Guest review byHannahAustralia
- From $242.35 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 385 reviewsPerfect location, great room and facilities, all around excellent (and having free guest laundry was super helpful). The pictures don’t do it justice, and it seemed odd to have “boutique hotel” in the name - but it really is that: a high-end boutique hotel. Highly recommendedGuest review byBrianUnited States

The shopping area was convenient.
The shopping area was convenient. I liked how the Warehouse and other shops were close by and a nice cafe/bakery was amongst it. Found it easy to get from one area to another with our GPS. Trying out Popeyes fast food was a interesting experience. Too spicy but then two of us were old codgers!!Guest review byCarolynNew Zealand - 10.0
So much to do here and everything is close.
So much to do here and everything is close. Vineyards, restaurants/cafes are very good, Te Mata Peak is great for a short/long walk, The Market on Sunday was lovely and the shops are individually owned so lots of interesting things. Wardini Books is worth a visit. Andreas Hair and beauty was welcoming at short notice. Loved Havelock NorthGuest review byCatherineNew Zealand - 10.0
Wairoa is totally underrated.
Wairoa is totally underrated. I know it's got a reputation for gangs and gang fights over the years but it took me by surprise for the following reasons: 1. The river walk was one of the most serene and best river walks I've had around NZ towns... and I've practically been everywhere in NZ. 2. The Norfolk Pine along the river were some of the most mature and magnificent trees I've seen. They definitely rival the ones along the Napier-Hastings motorway. 3. The road to the beach was literally 5 mins away from our accommodation. You get a fantastic view of the South Pacific Ocean and over the mountain range westward, you can watch some fantastic sunsets. I spent my 2022 New Years here and I saw off 2021 with a fantastic orange/yellow sunset (the kind you see in Bali).Guest review byHtutNew Zealand - 8.0

Waipukurau is one one of those people tend to just drive through - but it has a great network of trails along the river, nice coffee and is close to Waipawa. Its a relaxing place with nice pastoral scenery.Guest review bySean AudainNew Zealand - 10.0

This is a great place for a quiet, relaxing stay, with access to nearby beach walks and walking trails in the Ta Mata National Park. Don't come if you want night life or nearby restaurants. You're in the countryside, and the nearest town (Napier) is a bout 15km away..Guest review byAndrewAustralia - 10.0

Te Awanga was our choice of location as we were interested...
Te Awanga was our choice of location as we were interested in Cape Kidnappers, the wineries and accomodation with a bay view. We stayed at the Winemakers Cottage and it was exceptional. Te Awanga has a great cafe Huegge right on the beach. Gannet Tours operate from here (but there are no gannets in winter!) Trips up to the Cape Kidnappers Golf Course are not eay to arrange and I think the price if you get there may be exclusive. You can walk around the base of Kidnappers Bay to the gannet colony. It is a bit risky as the cliffs have rockfalls and the beach is made of black rocks which make walking a bit tricky. Great access to Hastings, Napier, Havelock north and Ocean Beach. Craggy Range Winery, Elephant Hill, and Clearview are all easily accessible.Guest review byGreyroseAustralia - 10.0
We enjoyed the quiet location.
We enjoyed the quiet location. The home was comfortable and clean. Everything was as advertised, so no unexpected surprises. The facilities were perfect for us. The directions on how to find the property were spot on. We will visit again soon.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
