If you ever get a chance to stay at Rachael’s and Mark‘s place, do it. I came a second time from Germany and will return for a third one. For the private waterfall, the quirky and heartwarming handmade details all around the grounds, the nightsky, feeding trouts, hearing blue ducks, or the room with costumes, but most importantly for feeling this unique spot between nature and garden. It is so peaceful and quiet it is absolutely mind-boggling.

Located in Manakau, Manakau House The Old Manakau Hotel 1920 features a shared lounge, garden and free WiFi. Private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. You can't judge a book by its cover! The inside of this historic hotel was charming, comfortable and quiet. The host gave my friend and me private rooms even though we booked a shared room because we were to get only guests in the hotel. She was very kind and thoughtful. I highly recommend - especially if you like historic buildings.

Located on the main street of Wanganui, Rutland Arms Inn and features an a la carte restaurant and bar. Free Wi-Fi access is available in all areas, and there is free on-site parking. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was dedicated parking behind the hotel. The room was very pleasantly furnished and decorated. It was clean and quiet. Check in was smooth. The hotel has a great bar/pub adjoining, where breakfast and dinner was served. It's an old hotel with great routines and processes in place; all in all a professsionally run hotel. It was a great stay.

The Powderhorn Chateau is situated in Ohakune, at the entrance to Tongariro National Park. Lovely accommodation. Nice cosy rooms , comfy beds and very kind friendly staff .

Hotel Coachman is located in the heart of Palmerston North. It offers a large outdoor swimming pool, 2 hot tubs, plus a fitness centre. Free Wi-Fi is included. Late check after a long ride from Christchurch

Located in the Tongariro National Park, The Park Hotel Ruapehu offers affordable accommodation in a stunning alpine setting. Guests are provided with free parking and 500MB of free WiFi. The restaurant and staff were fabulous beyond description. I honestly can’t say I’ve ever been excited to eat every meal where I’m staying.
