CanadaLush surroundings: the tiny cabins are set back into the forest. You sleep in total darkness and quiet. You awaken to bird song. There’s a hike right from the cabin, and owner Mark is full of good advice of 1,000 other things to do in the region. It’s a relaxed place with a shared kitchen kept neat and tidy and well-equipped. We were there as a couple and enjoyed meeting other travellers, but the place can also be booked for big groups which would be excellent for mountain biking enthusiasts and others. The climb up to the platform bed is pretty steep but the bed was cozy and firm and comfortable.

AustraliaWhat a delight! This B&B is just on the edge of the town but is a world away, in a quiet garden setting. Immaculate presentation of rooms, garden and breakfast area. High quality linens, toiletries and nice little touches like robes and complimentary welcome drink in the fridge. Bed was comfortable and the shower hot. Bathroom is compact but it's not like we needed to be in there often! Breakfast was top notch with cooked or lighter options available.
Our hosts were so welcoming, explaining the B&B, it's facilities and giving us great advice on dining out and sightseeing options. But, they were never intrusive. The apartment itself is completely self contained and separate to the house so you can interact as little or as much as you like. There is a separate lounge area, beside the apartment, for the exclusive use of apartment guests. The B&B is eco friendly, making sure that all products used are low impact and garden friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or stay again. Great value and a welcome respite from living out of a suitcase.

We needed to leave very early before breakfast opened and they let us go into the breakfast room to grab some food even before it opened. We asked if they would store our bags for a couple days after we left and they were so happy to. On the way back we were late retrieving our bags (after hours) and they went out of their way to make it possible for us to get them quite late even after the staff had gone home. So communicative and generous. Would absolutely stay again! Also very short (2-3 min) walk to a great dinner restaurant, which was so convenient. Nelson has a lot of speciality stores and a lot of food options. The Markets in the weekends are not for those looking for a bargain but do support local and NZ made and although some were costly, there was a lot of selection of goodies. Stoke the Bach Restaurant was staffed with lovely young girls, and the food was excellent and value for money The Arden Monaco where we stayed has limited room facilities and is not staffed outside of working hours, but the beds are comfortable and with very dark woodwork old paintings and very heavy doors, the facility was well equipped with heat pumps and hot water.Guest review byKimNew Zealand - 10.0

Loved the friendly people, very creative and arty outlets, and artists, lovely eateries and markets, lots to do and see. We unfortunately got caught in the bad weather and were stranded for two more days - would have been great, but too wet and flooded to do anything else.
