We stayed in one of their tree houses and it was well appointed, clean and modern. Location is very good to access trails, and glacier touring operators. There is an onsite restaurant that has excellent food and drinks.

We had to book it last minute due to road closures cutting us off from our reserved hotel. We got in late at night and the night manager was extra helpful. He carried our three heavy bags to the second floor for us, as the was no elevator. Beds were very comfy.

Spacious and clean unit with friendly staff. Free parking in front as well as their craft bar and eatery across. We ate there twice and there was a live singer on our first night. It’s not downtown but much more lively.

Hokitika Pioneer Hotel is an old style country pub with attached accommodations. With a casino, the property also features a garden. Guests can dine in the in-house restaurant or relax in the bar.

The location in the middle of the temperate rainforest and its access to the Franz-Joseph glacier is great. Ample parking. The hotel is beautifully decorated, and you feel connected to nature. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable and well organized. We loved the bird sounds playing in the room and the bathroom. Awesome turndown service at night with glass water bottles & delish chocolates. Great laundry facilities on site. They truly matched the sounds of the real birds outdoors. The staff was absolutely 100% professional, helpful and accommodating. First class! The five course dinners were delicious and we really enjoyed the view tables They reserved for us each evening. We really like the all inclusive aspect of this retreat as you are pretty isolated once you arrive in France Joseph. This is a cozy spot to end up in at the end of the day!
