AustraliaWe really loved the family rooms - they were warm despite the cold temperatures. The hot water systems (i.e. the showers) were excellent. Finding the hotel and accessing the car park was also very easy. The restaurant (the spiral) also served very high quality food. The cost of the rooms was outstanding value for money.

PhilippinesThe location was very beautiful over looking the lake. Many lush greenery and cute lemon trees. The room was very comfortable and cozy.
The duty managers Peter and Sherwin-Dan were very helpful and accommodating. They both gave excellent service. I highly recommend the HILTON LAKE TAUPO to anyone who will visit Taupo.

Turangi is a beautiful, scenic location and the people are very welcoming and friendly. We were impressed by the service and choices at the Hydro Cafe, the Flytackle shop and the NZ Post shop. We also enjoyed the Pihanga Gallery showcasing local art and crafts and a delicious Italian meal at Valentinos. Unfortunately the unit we stayed in was infested with ants which were in the bathroom, kitchen and bedroom. We awoke to find them in our beds and crawling all over us. Most unpleasant experience. I advised the manager but he didn't really apologise and I believe he was aware of the situation. His response was that he would need to get a pest controller in. The management is chaotic. I lost my ski poles. It took me an hour to find them among three girls. I found that all their equipment was someone else's. I was shocked. There were too many novices. My baby and I stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed everything about Waiouru. We were at the Oasis motel which is across the road from the Z gas station and next to a Diner,bakery, bar & bottle store which breaks off from the motel but still far away from the rooms. Taupo is a family friendly destination with many activities available around the lake. However it can be very busy during popular season such as the Christmas break, so making a plan to visit in advance would be my recommendation.
