- From $386.45 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 2,295 reviewsCharming, great atmosphere, clean and beautiful place! Amazing experience! They offer super tasty food (breakfast + buffer dinner with camel bbq!!) and cinema under stars. There are camels living by the camp, you can also have a ride with them or just per them of you like! The camp offers pick up service from the village close by, all perfectly organized. At the place you can book additional activities- we took sunset watching at dunes for 30min, price 21rials per car (up to 3 adults) so very reasonable amount. It was great experience and much recommended for everyone! The driver - Khalid was driving by the dunes, he is originally from this area and knows desert as his own pocket 😊Guest review byPaulinaPoland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 270 reviewsWow, this place is so worth the trip! The owner of the camp is very kind and welcoming, and makes you feel comfortable upon arrival. To get to the camp, you have the option of following the owner in your own 4x4 (we drove in ours and it was easy, with no prior dessert driving experience) or you can pay for a ride there. We did the 20 minute camel ride and it was the perfect length. Breakfast and dinner were really amazing, exceeded our expectations. They made a campfire for us, which we enjoyed with some mint tea while we stargazed. It’s really fun to climb the big dune behind the camp for sunset, but it’s a lot of exercise! Beautiful view. Definitely recommend this camp.Guest review byJordyUnited States
- From $72.78 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very Good - What previous guests thought, 2,020 reviewsThe best hotel for all of our stay in Oman. We booked 3 rooms for our group of 6 people. It's not just our rooms, but the entire hotel is very clean. The bathroom was also clean and smelled great. The location was convenient for us to explore the beaches close to Sur. We went to a hidden beach called Al-Khesah which is about 30 mins drive from the hotel. The beach was pristine and completely empty. This is no doubt one of best beaches I've ever been to. It is also convenient to drive to Bidiyah from this hotel.Guest review byThanh SonUnited States
- From $98.84 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 915 reviewsWe loved this desert camp. It was recommended to us by our tour guide. What sets it apart is that it is located deep within the sand dunes and not along the main road through the desert. We also enjoyed the dune bashing / sunset tour as well as the camel ride to view the sunrise from the high dunes. Definitely a highlight of our trip to Oman.Guest review byJorgeUnited States

Sur was a nice surprise.
Sur was a nice surprise. We were planning on going to the sea turtles reserve in Ras Al Jinz, but it was not the season, so we ended up in Sur instead. Thea beach is very nice as well as the souq. We had nice breakfast at Sahari Restaurant and hiked up to the tower next to it to see the views over the town. We visited the light house and the dhow factory.Guest review byTarjaFinland - 6.0
I’m uncomfortable with the turtle viewing situation.
I’m uncomfortable with the turtle viewing situation. After booking I read reviews of Ras Al Jinz and we decided to avoid. Then we were told to walk onto the beach near our guest house, with the warning that we could be turned away as beach access at night is forbidden. We saw several people in cars near the beach, headlights on, clearly looking for turtles. We turned away. The following morning, after sunrise, we went up to the beach. A turtle had clearly been there, I just hope the uninvited visitors didn’t interrupt her. I fear Ras Al Hadd isn’t entirely coping with the increased number of tourists and I don’t think it’s really worth a visit, tourists also need to be made much more aware of the consequences of their actions.Guest review byPaulaSwitzerland - 10.0
Loved the sunset drive on the dunes.
Loved the sunset drive on the dunes. Dune bashing was fun and you can tell your driver what version of this you want - soft to fast ! Staff were friendly and accommodating. Make sure you book your seat at outdoor dining to avoid not getting a seat if the camp is full. Also book activities as soon as so you get your preferred time. Food was great - huge selection in the buffet and the musical entertainment was a great surprise !Guest review byAliceUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The desert is very beautiful here.
The desert is very beautiful here. Despite the multitude of camps, it is not a problem to have a perfectly quiet and serene evening or morning walk among the dunes. If possible, aim for a moonless night to enjoy the full splendor of the night sky.Guest review byMarkoBulgaria - 8.0

There's a nice museum in the old town which is worth visiting, plus a few restaurants and cafes with a souk (market), though mornings only. Good for transiting/spend half a day (spend the night at SAJ Inn Farms), not necessrily as a destination in itself.Guest review byLeonieGermany - 10.0
Excellent location.
Excellent location. But I would suggest that you allocate a separate place away from the hotel rooms for the scrap items as otherwise it invites snakes and scorpions to the rooms. Also recommend a Table Fan at the food lobby.Guest review byHariharanIndia - 8.0

Small fishing town, nice beach and sea was lovely, decent waves for surfing. Good location for turtles and the scientific center. Basic coffee/tea shops and supermarket. Best get provisions from Sur.Guest review byAbdul RahmanOman - 10.0
We had an excellent stay at the camp.
We had an excellent stay at the camp. It's a small and private camp, with a great view on the sand dunes. The tents are fully equipped and comfortable. All the people working at the camp were super friendly and helpful. They made sure everything was according to our expectations and beyond. We did a dune bashing activity, where we also watched the sunrise and took beautiful pictures. I also definitely recommend the camel ride to watch the sunrise! The dinner and breakfast was super delicious, and we enjoyed watching the stars around the campfire at night.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
It a quiet port town. It a beautiful little white town.
It a quiet port town. It a beautiful little white town. However, compared to the world's famous tourist destinations, it will be a little inferior. But if you travel in Oman, it would be a good candidate.Guest review byMASARUJapan
