Great place for snorkeling, every offered excursion was a unique experience we where able to see sloths, western night monkeys, red dart frogs, 2 baby dolphins along with many adults, reef sharks, jelly fish, sea stars and many fish species along with stingrays snorkeling just out in front of the resort. The insects/bugs where minimum during our visit in September didn't even use our bug spray. This resort could be difficult for those who have an issue with some bugs and wildlife visiting them in there room, however you need to remember this is a nature resort and you are sleeping in a bungalow in the rainforest. We enjoyed The Restaurante Bar El Pirata and Buena Vista...
We enjoyed The Restaurante Bar El Pirata and Buena Vista both of which had excellent seafood and were on the water and the oceanfront scenery is beautiful. We enjoyed taking a boat around the islands. Getting around can be a challenge due to construction but the taxis are great. Every time that I go now the town in a certain way it's getting a little bit more indigenous if I can say so, so let me explain. In the past probably 8-10 years or so, the government is assigning property to the Cunas, that are the indigenous people of Panama, because at a certain point, they took it from them, so now Changinola is basically one of the areas where indigenous peoples are being "relocated". With that said, it's not a place that you're going to find a lot of museums or art or regular cultural activities nor a lot of things like that, but you can find places with great food options. Big Creek is in our opinion the best place to stay in bocas.
Big Creek is in our opinion the best place to stay in bocas. As it is not right in the city and more towards the most famous surf beaches you get the best of both worlds. The Jungle here is so pure and the wildlife is amazing, there are monkeys, sloths and tucans jumping and flying all around you. The Taxi drive to the center costs 2 dollar per person and takes 7-8 minutes. By bike you´ll need approximateley 20 minutes. If you are looking for amazing Wildlife and some relaxing time out of the noisy "pueblo", then this is definitely the right place for you.Guest review bySvenFrance - 10.0

Bocas Town offers many services (supermarkets, pharmacy, cafes) and seaside hotels with cafe-bars around well-designed docks.
